Cline Jr. Roy M. Cline Jr., 88, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 16, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev. Stephen Gaines, pastor of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Cline was born March 3, 1917, in Atchison, Kan., to Roy and Dora Cline. The family moved to Amarillo in 1924. He attended Amarillo schools, graduating in 1935 from Amarillo High School. He worked for Soil Conservation Service in the building of several dams in the area. He was an active participant in Boy Scouts, where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout among other honors and continued into the Sea Scouts. He married Mary Alice Andrews on June 22, 1939. He was in the 335th Army Engineer Corp during World War II. He returned to Amarillo at the end of the war and went into real estate and land development, forming his own company, Cline Development Co. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Georgia Manor Nursing Home and BSA Hospice for Roy's care. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Barry of Austin and Carter and wife, Sue, of Houston; a daughter, Carolyn Beene of Amarillo; four grandsons, Michael Cline and wife, Emily, and Corey Cline, all of Houston, and Robert Beene and wife, Melissa, and Royce Beene, all of Amarillo; a great-grandson, Ryan Cline of Houston; and a great-granddaughter, Rylee Beene of Amarillo. Hughes St. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Mansfield, La., on April 20, 1914. She was educated in Mansfield and was an Amarillo resident for 54 years. She was a faithful member of North Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Reynolds of Alexandria, La., and Callie Hubbard of Fort Smith, Ark.; a son, Walter Wheeler of Milwaukee; two brothers, Frank Mullins of Tulsa, Okla., and Bill Kidd of Fort Worth; and a host of other relatives. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Richardson of Palisades Baptist Church and Steve Parker of Spirit & Truth Baptist Church in Texarkana officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Dennis was born Jan. 12, 1946, in Texarkana to Fred L. and Alta Lee Tomlinson Dennis. He was a resident of Texarkana until moving to Amarillo in 1974. He married Sherry Lee Parker on Oct. 5, 1970, at Idabel, Okla. He had been a painter most of his life. He was a member of Palisades Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sondra Jean Thornburg of Amarillo; his stepfather, Allen Ingram of Fritch; two sisters, Darlene Davis of Fritch and Debbie Page of Walden; six brothers, Scott Dennis of Oak Grove, La., Johnny Dennis of Amarillo and Keith Dennis, Ralph Dennis, Doug Dennis and Bryant Dennis, all of Texarkana; and five grandchildren, Devin, Kaden, Sidney, Sarah and Cullen. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Freedom Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Bennett officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Richardson was born in Memphis and was raised and lived most of his life in Amarillo. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School. He served in the Navy in World War II. He owned and operated Elmo's Drive In with his wife, Delores, for many years before retiring. Elmo's is still owned and operated by his family. Mr. Richardson loved to fish and spend time at his lake house on Lake Livingston near Houston. Survivors include two sons, Steve Roberson and wife, Carol, and Pat Buchanan and wife, Karen, all of Amarillo; two daughters, Janie Farnsworth and husband, Johnny, of Memphis and Carolyn of Arkansas; four granddaughters, Tiffany Packer, Michelle Roberson, Robin Buchanan and April Bengston; two great- grandchildren and twin great-grandchildren who are to be born soon; many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; and a special friend, Martha Heymer of Amarillo. Mrs. Morris was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Balko. She lived in the area for a lifetime. She married Albert Morris on Jan. 11, 1941, in Gray. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Balko Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2005; her parents, Leroy and Stella Ballard Kinsey; three brothers, Roy Kinsey, Tom Kinsey and Ben Kinsey; and three sisters, Eula Lee Kinsey Cross, Lela Mae Kinsey and Lennas Kinsey. Burial will be in Amistad Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Cleveland was born June 15, 1918, in Union County to George Reif and Emma D. McLemore Reif. A Clayton High School graduate, she was a lifelong resident of the Amistad area in Union County, where she taught first grade in the Amistad School for 37 years. Survivors include a son, Kendall L. "Buzzy" Cleveland of Clayton; a brother, D.M. Reif of Clayton; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hunnicutt was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Sitka, Ark. On Dec. 21, 1956, she married Calvin Hunnicutt in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Todd Hunnicutt of Phoenix; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Webb and Sonny Webb, both of Amarillo. Mrs. McMillan was born Jan. 29, 1914, to Faris Jackson and Mamie Fine Terry in Burleson County near Caldwell, Texas. She married H.F. McMillan on Oct. 4, 1931, in Clovis. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Newcomb of Midland, Texas, Carmen Phillips of Wichita and Terry McMillan of Canyon Lake, Texas; a son, Wesley McMillan of Clovis; a stepson, T.O. Amarillo Globe-News, April 18, 2005 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area J. David Fatheree PAMPA - J. David Fatheree, 68, died Friday, April 15, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Edwin Cooley, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Fatheree was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Pampa, the grandson of Pampa pioneers T.D. and Minnie Hobart and son of the late Clyde and Laura Fatheree. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1954, where he was a member of student council, the golf team and the Latin Club and was a varsity cheerleader. In 1958, he received a BBA degree from Oklahoma University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was commissioned as a first lieutenant in the Army. He married Mary Elizabeth Mann of Duncan, Okla., in 1958. They moved back to Pampa in the early 1960s, where Mr. Fatheree went into the insurance business, subsequently owning and operating Fatheree Insurance Agency until the late 1990s. He was affiliated with Duncan, Fraser, and Bridges Insurance Agency in Pampa at the time of his death. Mr. Fatheree was a member of the first group of inductees into the Pampa Harvester Hall of Fame. He had twice chaired his Class of 1954 reunion committee and spearheaded the Pampa High School landscaping project begun by former PHS graduating classes. David attended nearly every class reunion, and in 1996, he was made an honorary member of the PHS Class of 1956 by the Committee for the Preservation of the Class of 1956 for his attendance at their reunions. He served as board chairman of the Pampa United Way from 1974 until 1978 and as drive chairman in 1978. He continued to work for United Way until his death. He was a past director of the Salvation Army Board, a member of the White Deer Land Museum Advisory and Foundation Boards, Pampa Community Concert Board, former board member of the Pampa Youth and Community Center, and he was a member of the first board of directors of the Ronald McDonald House in Amarillo. He received a Golden Nail Award for his work on Pampa's centennial celebration. He was a member and trustee of First Presbyterian Church and the Everyman's Bible Class. David was a past president of the Pampa Country Club, former chairman of the Top O' Texas Golf Tournament and a former member of the Pampa Rotary Club. Other organizations supported by Mr. Fatheree include Hospice of Pampa, Shepard's Helping Hands, Pampa Fine Arts Association, Junior Service League of Pampa, St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Meals on Wheels. His hobbies included playing golf with friends and his grandsons, Taylor and Garrett. He supported all Pampa athletic teams through their booster clubs and through private contributions, and Fatheree Insurance Agency ran countless newspaper and radio ads supporting football, basketball, track and golf teams through the years. David also worked on committees to honor former Pampa coaches and athletes. He was preceded in death by a brother, C. Warren Fatheree. Survivors include his wife; a son, David M. Fatheree and wife, Natha, of Pampa; three grandchildren, Taylor, Garrett and Madison Fatheree, all of Pampa; a brother, Hobart Fatheree and wife, Ann, of San Antonio; and a sister- in-law, Ann Fatheree of Amarillo. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Alexander was born to Donald J. and Ele Alexander on Sept. 18, 1947, in Amarillo. He was a 30-year Dumas resident. He attended Dumas schools. He served in the Army and Navy and later became an offshore operator for Oxy International. Survivors include two sisters, Donna Ditzler and husband, LaVon, of Dumas and Ruth Ann Wede and husband, Rod, of McKinney; a brother, Bruce Alexander and wife, Melynne, of Denton; a cousin, Evelyn Somoskey and husband, Jim, of Marietta, Ga.; a daughter, Rhonda Murphy of Texas; three grandchildren, Brady Alexander of Amarillo, Jonathan Murphy and Amber Murphy; a niece, Belynda Jolly and husband, Jeff, of Dumas; and a nephew, Wally Ditzler and wife, Crystal, of Dumas.
