Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Chester Beavers officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Almeida was born July 5, 1924, in New Bedford, Mass. He was an Army veteran and served his country in World War II. He later was employed by a local trucking company until his retirement. He was a widower of Betty Almeida in 1992. Survivors include a niece, Judith Freitas of North Port, Fla.; two nephews, Ken Almeida of Fairhaven, Mass., and Richard Baptiste of New Bedford, Mass.; and a sister, Hilda Silva of California. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Bell St. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Waldo officiating. Mrs. Render was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Dalhart. She was an active member of St. Cecilia's Women's Circle at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to VITAS Hospice for all of their help and care. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Render; and a son, William Daniel Render. Mrs. Wesley was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Amarillo. She farmed and ranched in the Happy/Wayside area. She was a member of Eastern Star and Happy Senior Citizens where she was active in quilting. She was also a member of the Methodist Church of Happy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wesley; and a son, Bowie Wesley. Survivors include a son, C.R. Wesley of Wayside; three grandchildren, Shauntay Sparks and Nelson Sparks, both of Brownwood, and Tonda Sparks of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren, Noah Sparks and Ava Sparks, both of Brownwood. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with Darrell Rowell, longtime family friend, and Samuel G. Dawson, his son, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mr. Dawson was born in Shady Grove, Ark., on July 19, 1911, to Nila Elizabeth Wade Dawson and Samuel Wesley Dawson. His family came to eastern Oklahoma in a covered wagon in 1922, when Lester was 11, so the kids could go to high school. He was valedictorian of the 1929 senior class at Mazie, Okla., High School. He served in the Army for three years at Fort Warren, Wyo. He married Harriet Frances Gentry in Sapulpa, Okla., on Nov. 29, 1934. He worked his entire post-Army life for Phillips Petroleum in Tulsa, Okla., Okmulgee, Okla., Cactus and Dumas. He retired in 1972. He had been a Moore County resident since 1949 and was a member of Sixth and Meredith Church of Christ since that time. He was preceded in death by his wife in September 2001; a brother; two sisters; and a grandson, Westley Dawson. Survivors include a daughter, Sara Elizabeth Dawson Lacey and husband, Charles, of Amarillo; a son, Samuel G. Dawson and wife, Patsy Snodgrass, of Amarillo; two grandsons, Steve Lacey and wife, Laurie, of Albuquerque, N.M., and David Lacey and wife, Kris Mills, of West Chester, Ohio; two granddaughters, Tamara Lacey of Amarillo and Amanda Dawson of State College, Pa.; two great-granddaughters, Shauna Biss of Albuquerque and Samantha Lacey of West Chester. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Central Church of Christ with Tom Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Ford was born March 19, 1918, in Groom, the daughter of Annice and Claude Rea Sr. She married Jay Fortenberry on June 3, 1942, in Albuquerque, N.M. He preceded her in death in 1959. She married Bill Ford on Feb. 19, 1977, in Lubbock. He preceded her in death in 1992. Mrs. Ford graduated from West Texas State Teachers Collage with a master's degree in education. She retired after teaching school for more than 40 years in the Hereford and Walcott School System and was recognized as a very good teacher. She was in the farming and ranching business for many years. Mrs. Ford was a member of Hereford Retired School Employees Association and Hereford Central of Christ. She was preceded in death by both husbands; a brother, J.K. Rea; a brother-in- law; and two sisters-in-law. Survivors include a son, Don Rea of Amarillo; two brothers, Harte "Tex" Rea of El Centro, Calif., and Claude Rea Jr. of Canyon; a sister, Vera Elizabeth Gray of Amarillo; four sisters-in-law, Mary Dorris of Clovis, N.M., Chloe Dowd of Laurel, Ind., Kate Bradley of Adrian and Alta Mae Higgins of Hereford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Texola Cemetery in Texola, Okla., by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Gipson was born Jan. 18, 1913, in Benonine. He married Lura Mae Brooks on Aug. 4, 1934, in Texola. They lived in Texola and farmed both in Texas and Oklahoma until they retired and moved to Shamrock in the late 1970s. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Shamrock. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; nine brothers and sisters; and a grandson. Survivors include his wife; a son, Neil Gipson and wife, Shirley, of Odessa; two daughters, Willie Sappington and husband, Gerald, of Amarillo and Shirley Tuttle and husband, Don, of Shamrock; four grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She resided many years in Amarillo, Texas, before moving to Fairfield where she lived for 25 years. She was self- employed and co-owner of Parkway TV. Before working with her husband at Parkway TV, she was a car saleswoman at Stan Motors and Dick Lewis Ford in Vacaville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sonya Roberts. Survivors include her husband, Larry; a son, Buck Mitchell; two stepchildren, Jennifer Selfert and husband, Brent, and Jessica Kahn and husband, Jason; her grandchildren, Madelyne Seifert, Trevin Seifert, Brandon Mitchell and Haley Kahn; two brothers, Robert and Steve Martin; and two aunts, Helen L. Mr. Matlock was never concerned about his destination, only about the trip. Jim's concerns were put to rest as he passed very peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Services will be at 8 p.m. Friday in Reed Funeral Home with Fred Hauck, pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in Arlington National Cemetery. Mr. Woolsey was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Lonewolf, Okla., the son of Clinton Monroe and Anna Ardilla Lesley Woolsey. He was a retired Army command sergeant major with 24 years of distinguished service, which included two tours in Vietnam. During his service, he received three Bronze Star Medals, a Purple Heart Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star, five Good Conduct Medals and three Army Commendation Medals. He also was a retired millwright from Firestone in Decatur. Nathan married Hannelore Inga Aull on July 7, 1957, in Gelnhausen, Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his wife; his children, Soreka Sholedice and husband, Frank, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Anna Fridsma and husband, Jim, of Iron River, Wis., Barry Woolsey and wife, Karen, of Charlotte, N.C., and Billy Woolsey and wife, Barb, and Adrian Woolsey and wife, Merry, all of Sullivan; two brothers, Pat Woolsey and wife, Bobbie, of Anaheim, Calif., and Mike Woolsey and wife, Shirley, of Amarillo; a sister, Kathy Woolsey of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren.
