Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Ed Williams, associate pastor of Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Nichols was born in Etowah, Tenn., on Sept. 16, 1906, to Turner and Maude Nichols. The family moved to Clarendon where Ruel farmed land at Ashtola for several years. He eventually went into the monument business in Amarillo, where he sold many beautiful monuments that were erected in Llano Cemetery and all parts of the Texas panhandle. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Marie Nichols in November 1996. Survivors include a brother, Robert Nichols and wife, Juliet, of Denton; two brothers-in-law, Henry Parker and wife, Betty, and Ernest Pantel, all of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Eva Parker of Castleberry, Fla.; two cousins, Jo Veta Darnell and Zell Cain of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Minnie Harrell Grenewald Minnie Harrell Grenewald, 94, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, in Amelia Island, Fla. Graveside memorial services will be in Llano Cemetery of Amarillo at a later date. Local arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Grenewald was born in rural Upshur County and was raised in Ore City. She graduated from Ore City High School before attending nursing school in Texarkana. There she met her husband, Kenneth, and they were married in 1933. The couple moved to Amarillo in 1941 to launch his business, West Texas Wholesale. Kenneth subsequently became one of Amarillo's most hard-working and outstanding civic leaders, being named Daily News and Globe-Times Man of the Year in 1955. A registered nurse, Minnie practiced nursing at St. Anthony's Hospital before retiring to be a full-time homemaker. She was active in League of Women Voters and Amarillo County Club Women's Golf Association. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987; and her oldest son, Kenneth in 1995. Survivors include a son, William and wife, Susan, of Amelia Island; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Claire McDonough of Alexandria, Va., and Megan Cox of La Jolla, Calif. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association, Amarillo Chapter, 2200 W. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79106. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bonnie Loise Randell Breece Bonnie Loise Randell Breece, 70, of Amarillo died Saturday, April 23, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery East with Don Ralston of New Beginnings Gospel Center officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Breece was born in Londale, Ark., and raised in Turkey. She moved to Amarillo from Turkey in the early 1950s. She married Earl Breece in 1955 in Amarillo. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The family would like to thank Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice for its care and support. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; her parents; three brothers, including her twin, Lonnie Randell, Raymond Randell and Marvin Randell; two sisters, Norene Rogers and Myrtle Mayes; and twin great-grandchildren. Survivors include a son, Henry Breece and wife, Debbie, of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Dena Davis and husband, David, Henry Breece II and wife, Charity, and James Breece, all of Amarillo; four great-grandsons, Ethan, Derik and Aron Davis and Justin Breece, all of Amarillo; two great-granddaughters, Jarah Breece and Holly Breece; a brother, Louis Randell and wife, Oleta, of Turkey; two sisters, Alice Everett and husband, Bill, of Lubbock and Ola Faye Hiser and husband, Floyd, of Sunray; and many loved nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oklahoma Eva Alexander Lee ALTUS, OKLA. - Eva Alexander Lee, 78, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Oluste Cemetery in Oluste with Robert Krebbs, chaplain of Jackson County Memorial Hospital, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Lee was born in Oluste to Frank and Ruby Alexander. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 25 years as a telephone operator. She most recently lived in the Towers Apartments in Altus, where she enjoyed her friendships and working puzzles. She was preceded in death by two brothers, L.B. and Lloyd Alexander. Survivors include a daughter, Shari Cunningham and husband, Lloyd, of Amarillo; two sons, Allan Lee of Amarillo and Mark Lee and wife, Darlene, of Dumas; a brother, Harold Ray Alexander of Altus; six grandchildren, Tiffani, Jessica, Cody, Erica, Shayne and Ashton; and four great-grandchildren, Greig, Shauna, Keelan and Danielle. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Della Mae Schuette Della Mae Schuette, 82, of Canyon died Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with Terry Meyer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Schuette was born Nov. 4, 1922, on a cattle ranch in Waynoka, Okla., to Jesse and Ellen Barber Hull. She was the oldest of 10 children and graduated from Waynoka High School. In 1943, she went to Yakima, Wash., to work the apple harvest grading apples. While in Washington, she attended business college and then joined the WAVES in the Navy. She trained in Hunter College, N.Y., and was stationed at the U.S. Naval Receiving Station at Terminal Island, Calif., and later at Coronado Island near San Diego. After World War II, she attended WTSU in Canyon. She married Bill Schuette in Amarillo on Aug. 3, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; a son, David in 1992; two brothers, Jack and Darrell Hull; and a sister, Crystal Burt. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Ham and husband, Bill, of Canyon; a grandson, Jim Bob Ham and wife, Shannon, of Canyon; a brother, Donald Hull of Waynoka; five sisters, Carol Lee Kassick of Wichita, Kan., Dorothy Shepherd, Ruth Downs and Janie Kanaga, all of Waynoka, and Eleanor Blain of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Daulton Eastin and Clay Ham, both of Canyon, and Kelsey Ham of Fritch. Mrs. Gardner was born Feb. 6, 1921, in Memphis. She married Orvall West Gardner on April 22, 1944, in Claude. Survivors include two sons, Gary Gardner and Dan Gardner, both of Vigo Park; two daughters, Myrla Gardner of Vigo Park and Becky Bivens of Little Elm; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers, M.S. O'Dell Jr. of Minden, La., Glen O'Dell of Amarillo and Dale O'Dell of Highland Falls, N.Y.; and four sisters, Mateel Brown of Amarillo, Mariam Palmer of Hayward, Calif., Myrl Blackwell of Midwest City, Okla., and Vesta Orr of Auburn, Maine. Henslee STINNETT - John David "J.D." Henslee, 52, died Saturday, April 23, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Stinnett United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Adams, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stinnett Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Henslee was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Borger. He married Sammie Anglen on April 12, 1985, in Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, Brandon Henslee of Stonewall; a daughter, Amanda Henslee of Stinnett; a sister, Dora Faulkner of Maumee, Ohio; two brothers, Don Henslee of Vinita, Okla., and Dan Henslee of Fritch; and his parents, John and Mary Henslee of Borger. Services will be at 10 a.m. (CDT) Thursday in Nara Visa Community Center in Nara Visa with Dean Whaley, minister of Dalhart Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Nara Visa Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mrs. Stull was born March 21, 1918, in Dalhart. She had been a longtime resident of the Nara Visa community. She was a member of Logan Church of Christ. She had been a homemaker and for many years cooked at the Nara Visa School and the Amistad School in Amistad. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Stull on March 25, 2005. Survivors include a daughter, Glynda Fawbush and husband, Tom, of Dalhart; three sons, Daryl Stull and wife, Martha, of Dalhart, Dale Stull and wife, Charlotte, of Nara Visa and Dean Stull of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Sarah Jo Frazier of Dalhart; and a brother, Glenn Russell of Clayton. Jones, 83, died Friday, April 22, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Claude Cemetery in Claude, Texas. Local arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors in Panhandle, Texas. Mrs. Rogers was born May 15, 1921, to Chester A. and Eva Mae (Monroe) Rogers in Evansville, Ind. On Dec. 7, 1941, she married Willie W. "Jack" Jones in El Paso. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth "Bucky" Jones of Delta and Bill Jones of Balinger, Texas; a daughter, Diane Snodgrass of Ontario, Canada; a brother, Kenneth Rogers of Colorado City, Texas; eight grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
