Ashlock Haskell D. Ashlock, 92, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. Mr. Ashlock was born in Kingston, Okla. He married Altha Lou Junkins in 1941. He served in the Army during World War II. After being discharged in 1943, he moved to Fort Worth and went to work for General Dynamics until his retirement in 1981, after 38 years of service. He was a past member of International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers No. 776. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Convalescent Center and the doctors and nurses of the V.A. Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2000; his parents, Douglas and Lillian Ashlock; and three brothers, Coy Ashlock, Earl Ashlock and Lynn Ashlock. Survivors include three sisters, Genice Sanchez of Amarillo, Betty Sandlin and husband, Bill, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Geneva Hall of Amarillo; two brothers, Kenneth Ashlock of Oklahoma City and Jake Ashlock and wife, Kathy, of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Colin Murphy James Colin Murphy, 61, of Amarillo died Monday, April 25, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with G.A. Roach, pastor, officiating. Mr. Murphy was born April 21, 1944, in Fort Worth to Alton and Maude Murphy, and was raised in Austin. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin in 1978, and loved his Longhorns. He married Marianne Ward in 1986 and moved to Amarillo in 1992. Jim was a longtime employee of the Pavilion-Northwest Texas Hospital. He was an active member of local 12-step programs, and was a mentor, counselor, sponsor and friend to all. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael Dalton Murphy and James Colin Murphy Jr.; and a daughter, Sheila Colleen Arnold. The family suggests memorials be to The Haven, 1308 S. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, and the Rev. William A. Ingran, youth minister of Warren United Methodist Church in Dallas, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Tinner was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Olton. The family moved to Amarillo in 1955 and he graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1971. He was employed by Texas Bearing Co. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Frankie; three daughters, Rosa of Houston, and Tonya and Tenaya, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sons, Triston and Reginald, both of Amarillo, and Cedric and Chris, both of Colorado Springs; his parents, Willie and Sarah Timmons of Amarillo; his father, Roosevelt Tinner Sr. of Midland; five brothers, William and wife, Sandra, of Rochester, Minn., and Clifford and wife, Vivian, and David, Donald and Almeda, all of Midland; four sisters, Shirley and husband, James, of Dallas, Martha Ann of Odessa, and Theresa and Patricia, both of Sherman; and seven grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bobby Wayne Savage Bobby Wayne Savage, 53, of Amarillo died Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Savage was born Aug. 25, 1951, in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident. Bobby was in the construction industry, shipping and receiving and also in janitorial at Amarillo Gear Co. He was in wrestling at Palo Duro in high school. He loved to fish, barbecue and was a Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved music and his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Della Josephine on June 15, 1964, and Vernon B. Savage on Nov. 20, 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Christy Renee Burks; two sons, Bobby Dwayne Savage and Shawn Scott Savage; a sister, Mary Ruth Floyd; a brother, Doyle Joe Savage; five grandchildren ;and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice. Mrs. Thein was born on Jan. 7, 1961, in Burma. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Tin Aye; four daughters, Kathy Ma and husband, Khin Maung Toe, Mar Mar Cho and husband, Kyaw Hein, Nu Nge and May Day, all of Amarillo; three sons, Win Naing Soe, Khin Kyan Soe and Aye Min Soe, all of Amarillo; three grandsons, Jimmy, Jason, and Jerry Toe, all of Amarillo; and two granddaughters, Christie Marie Hein and Callie Marie Hein, both of Amarillo. Spencer of Cedar Creek, Melvin Spencer of Otterdein, Ind., Clyde Spencer of Quinlin and Billy Spencer of Dallas; and four grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margarete Koepsel Margarete Koepsel, 88, of Amarillo died Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Koepsel enjoyed crocheting hangers, painting and loved music and singing. She always gave a little something that she had made to her friends and family. Everybody knew her as Omi. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gustav Koepsel. Survivors include a daughter, Roswitha "Rose" B. Koepsel of Amarillo; two grandsons, Erich Gustav Ramos and Lucius Koepsel Ramos and their father, Angel Ramos, all of Amarillo; and two sisters, Annie Schmidt and Sophie Schlieckriede, both of Germany. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in San Jon Cemetery in San Jon with the Rev. Roy Mitchell and C.L. Bowe officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Liles was born Dec. 6, 1908, near Altus, Okla. He was a farmer in the San Jon area for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of San Jon. He married Lillian Dunn in 1930. He was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; and two daughters-in- law, Bonnie Liles and Raye Liles. Survivors include two sons, John A. Liles of Tucumcari and Joe H. Liles Jr. and wife, Sue, of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Joyce Toombs and husband, Wilson, of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Haldren of Frost, Texas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Angela Armijo Mendez CLOVIS, N.M. - Angela Armijo Mendez, 69, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mrs. Mendez was born Nov. 26, 1935, in Derramero. She married Albert Mendez on Oct. 14, 1955, in Clovis. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Albert G. Mendez Jr. of Phoenix, Carl Joe Mendez of Albuquerque, Robert Mendez of Clovis and Patrick Mendez of Rio Rancho; three daughters, Debbie Mendez and Judy Armijo, both of Clovis, and Brenda Mendez of Phoenix; four brothers, C.V. Stuart CLAYTON, N.M. - Raymond I. Stuart, 83, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Clayton Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. He married Paulene McKinney on Dec. 22, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Panhandle Church of Christ with John Henley, minister, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Keys was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Morton. She had been a Panhandle resident for 20 years. She married Alton Perry in September 1955 in Amarillo, and he preceded her in death. She married Guy Bell in January 1978 in Wellington, and he preceded her in death. She then married Gene Keys on June 8, 1999, in Wellington. She was a homemaker and member of Panhandle Church of Christ. Winnie loved butterflies and music and singing with the Pioneers. Survivors include her husband; a son, Steve Perry and wife, Pam, of Panhandle; a daughter, Sharla Perry of Garland; a grandchild, Jessica Perry; two step- grandchildren, Wendy and Jeremy VanDyke; and a large, loving extended family. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Haywood Vaughn STRATFORD - Haywood Vaughn, 73, died Wednesday, April 27, 2005. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Weinette, pastor, and the Rev. Tom Milbern, pastor of First Christian Church of Boise City, Okla., officiating. Flag detail and firing squad will be provided by VFW Post No. 7092 in Boise City. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Vaughn was born April 13, 1932, to Elwood and Mamie Vaught in Waxahachie. He was a 23-year resident of Stratford and also lived many years in Friona. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He married Eunice Combs on July 26, 1982, in Stratford. For 23 years he was a hairdresser in Stratford. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Denette Sweeney and husband, Edward, of Lubbock; a son, Jason Vaughn and wife, Midori, of Allen; a stepdaughter, Bonnie Borth and husband, Keith, of Boise City; a sister, Dorothy Rolen of Camp Wood; a brother, Odell Vaughn of Waxahachie; two grandsons, Cody Ruth of Lubbock and Duran Vaughn of Allen; two stepgranddaughters, Desiree Davis of Stratford and Mechele Borth of Hereford; a stepgrandson, Anthony Hayworth of Alvarado; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. Mrs. Donoho was born April 16, 1942, in Telephone to Alice and James Blanton. She was a child daycare worker. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; two sons, Jon Donoho of Fort Worth and Edward Donoho of Arlington; two daughters, Dawn Ring of Arlington and Teresa Donoho of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Blanton of Burkburnett and Joel Blanton of California; and two sisters, Wanda Harvey of Borger and Inez Peeler of Seadrift.
