Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Church of Christ at the Colonies, 4500 Wesley Road, with Dick Marcear, minister, officiating and Nic Belcher assisting. Graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lockney Cemetery in Lockney. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Darnell died after a long battle with cancer, Saturday, May 7. Mrs. Darnell was born June 14, 1941, to Clois and Letha Cox at Whiteface. She was raised by her mother and stepfather, R.L. and Letha Wright. She graduated from Kress High School in Kress in May 1959. She worked for Cargill Inc. in Plainview after graduation until December 1964. She married Brannon Darnell in Plainview on Dec. 26, 1964. After living in several U.S. cities, they moved to Amarillo in June 1982. Loretta was president of Darnell Custom Homes, building homes in Amarillo for 20 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ at the Colonies. She loved all children and spent many hours preparing and teaching Bible school. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Kay; her mother; her father; and her stepfather. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Karen Haggard and husband, Derick, of Lubbock and Debbie Quackenbush and husband, Jesse, of Austin; six grandchildren, Dax, Quin and Ryne Haggard and Dillon, Katie and Sara Quackenbush; two brothers, Bill Cox and wife, Florence, of O'Fallon, Ill., and Danny Cox, and wife, Nancy, and their children of Lewisville; and a niece, Angie Cox of Kansas City, Mo. Stanford J.A. Stanford, 97, of Amarillo died Friday, May 6, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Park Place Towers Parlor with Lanny Newton of Central Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Carmel Cemetery near Wolfe City. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Stanford was born June 20, 1907, in Cass County to Mary and William Stanford. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1931. He had worked in oil exploration and later aeronautical engineering for NASA until retiring. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lottie Stanford, and later his second wife, Corene Stanford. Survivors include a daughter, Jamie Voss of San Diego, Calif.; four brothers, Tom Stanford of Lake Texoma, C. Cooper Stanford of Memphis, Tenn., Dan M. Stanford of Linden and Edward T. Stanford of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Sarah Beth Simms of Knoxville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Patrick Todd Huntley Patrick Todd Huntley, 47, of Amarillo died Friday, May 6, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hollywood Road Community Church with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Huntley was born May 22, 1957, in Michigan. He married Melynn Huntley on Jan. 17, 1993. He was a member of Hollywood Road Community Church. He served in the Marine Corps from 1978 until 1982, and was in the Army for an additional 16 years before retiring in 2000. He was active in the Panhandle Film Commission and enjoyed making independent movies. He was a superior craftsman in small-scale military modeling. He was a devoted husband and father. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Huntley. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Christopher Todd Huntley of Mansfield and Matthew William Huntley of Amarillo; two stepsons, Bradley Clay Knapp of Dallas and Thomas Atkins Knapp of Austin; his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Bruce Cook of Florida; a sister, Susan Lindsay of Florida; and a brother, Mitch Huntley of North Carolina. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Jerry Hopkins, pastor of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Mrs. Riley attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Amarillo High School. She spent most of her life working at a job she loved for Western Merchandisers and Anderson Merchandisers. She worked from 1960 until February 2005. She was a lifetime volunteer for Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. She also volunteered with Hands Across America. She was an avid bowler and billiards player. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to BSA Hospice for all their work and comfort for the family. She was preceded in death by her father, Deewitt Allen; her mother, Marygladys Allen; and a brother, Bob Allen. Hughes St. Mrs. Smith, the eldest of two children, was born Aug. 12, 1948, in Amarillo to G.W. and Edith Matthews. She was a 1966 graduate of Carver High School. Linda had been employed as a secretary at Pantex for 36 years and remained employed at Pantex until her death. She was a member of Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Edith Matthews. He worked as a security guard at Pantex since 2000. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. Hipkins PAMPA - Ralph R. Hipkins, 81, died Saturday, May 7, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Hipkins was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Hobart, Okla. He graduated from Retrop High School in Retrop, Okla., in 1942 and joined the Navy that same year. He served in the Aleutian Islands and the South Pacific on the USS Selfridge and the USS Wren. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a chief petty officer. Mr. Hipkins married Kathleen Stowers on June 1, 1946, in Carter, Okla. In 1969, he came to Pampa, where he established and owned Pro Data Surveys. In 1984, he went into oil and gas production and became president of XET, Inc. and S & W Oil & Gas. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.W. and Letha Duncan Hipkins, and a brother, Damon Hipkins. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janice Porter and husband, Lee, of Pampa; a son, Dan W. Mrs. Mahaffey was born July 23, 1910, at Honey Grove and moved to Dumas in 1973 from Richland Springs. She was a longtime member of First Street Church of Christ in Dumas. She married Ed Mahaffey in 1938 at Santa Anna, Calif. She worked at Dumas Printing with her son from 1973 to 2004. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973. Survivors include two sons, James Mahaffey and wife, Nancy, of Dumas and Gary Mahaffey of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Tonda VerWey of Dumas and Taryn Sanderson of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren, Cinnamon Presley of Modesto, Calif., Britton Mahaffey-Sanderson of Amarillo and Taeler VerWey of Dumas; and a stepgreat-grandson, Corey Sanderson of Dumas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe Shultz, the Rev. Ellis Parson and the Rev. Don Larkin officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic graveside rites by the Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849 AF&AM. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Noland was born Dec. 19, 1911, in Floyd County, the son of James Alfred and Greenville Noland. He graduated from Hereford High School in 1929 and was the first drum major of the Mighty Maroon Marching Band. He was a farmer and rancher his entire life. Mr. Noland moved to the Summerfield community with the Noland family in 1917. He married Beatrice Lawrence on Dec. 27, 1936, at Summerfield. He was a Past Master of the Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849 and a charter member of the South Plains Day Light Lodge of Lubbock, serving on the Grand Lodge of Texas Committee on Work for more than 20 years. He was a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, a member of the Khiva Shrine Temple and a member of the York Rite Consistery, of which he was of the Crusader Conclave of the Red Cross of Constantine. Mr. Noland was a member of the Hereford Chapter No. 312 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Summerfield Baptist Church, where he led the music for many years. He was always involved in community activities and loved singing, especially with the Golden Age Gospel Quartet, when they performed for the retirement centers and rest homes in the Texas Panhandle. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Noland of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Kay Carney of Dallas and Jerre Bea Shultz of Hereford; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bicket was born May 28, 1920, in Plano, Texas. She lived in Borger, Texas, for more than 25 years. Mr. Gray was born July 12, 1920, in Beaver County to William and Nellie Evans Gray. He married Dorothy Jean Bussey in Muskogee on Aug. 19, 1942. Survivors include his wife; a son, Randall Gray of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Miller of Liberal, Kan.; two grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eugenio Martinez Sr. HEREFORD - Eugenio Martinez Sr., 71, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, in Amarillo. Mr. Martinez was born May 24, 1933, in Edinburg, the son of Hipolito and Delfina Martinez. He married Anna Maria Vela on Jan. 14, 1953, in Edinburg. He was a retired truck driver, having worked for many years for Apen Construction Co., Jake Diel Construction Co. and Bar G Trucking. Mr. Martinez was a member of San Pablo United Methodist Church in Hereford. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2001 and two brothers. Survivors include three sons, Eugenio Martinez Jr., Samuel Martinez and Jesse Barrera and wife, Dalia, all of Grand Prairie; two daughters, Imelda Gonzalez and husband, Jorge, and Yvette Hernandez and husband, Ignacio, all of Hereford; three brothers, Daniel Martinez of Amarillo, Ruben Martinez of Oregon and Roy Martinez of Edinburg; four sisters, Juanita Mata of Port Isabel, Nena Vigil of Houston, and Santos Prado and Angie Vela, both of Edinburg; and eight grandchildren.
