Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Cliford Roberts, a nephew of Questa, N.M., officiating. Mr. Kinkade was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Earth, and moved to the Amarillo/Canyon area in 1972. He married Shirley Lawson on Nov. 26, 1955, at Clovis, N.M. He was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean War as an MP. He was a Class A PGA Professional for 27 years. Mr. Kinkade retired from the city of Amarillo in December 1999 after 20 years of service. He was the golf course superintendent for Ross Rogers and Comanche Trails and was an avid golfer. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church, PGA, GCSAA, and WTGCSA. He was a former chairman of deacons and training union director at Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Faunette Stocker of Umbarger and Rasheryl Durham of Amarillo; two sons, Tim Kinkade and Brian Kinkade, both of Amarillo; two sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with the Rev. Thacker Haynes of First United Methodist Church in McLean officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Mann was born in Pampa and moved to Amarillo in 1968. He was employed by Southwestern Public Service, where he retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Mann; and his parents, J.L. and Geneva Mann. Survivors include a son, John Mann of McLean; a stepdaughter, Melody Sloss of Claude; a sister, Pam Hollabaugh of Amarillo; his stepmother, Nell Mann of Shamrock; two stepsisters; and three grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Jon Ann Crow Jon Ann Crow, 69, of Canyon died Monday, May 9, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Paul Dunn, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Crow was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Ingleside to John and Ada Alexander Thomson. She graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1952 and then from West Texas State University with several master's degrees in the education field. She worked for 39 years in public education, with the last 19 years at Highland Park. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Wink Thomson. Survivors include two daughters, Carla Rolinc of Aubrey and Mary Boileau of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two sisters, Patricia Hicks of Douglas, Ariz., and Kaye Long of Canyon; a brother, Jim Thomson of Fredericksburg, Va.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Virginia "Dutch" Lyles DUMAS - Virginia "Dutch" Lyles, 76, died Sunday, May 8, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Channing Cemetery in Channing. Mrs. Lyles was born Feb. 24, 1929, in Hartley County. She had lived in Dumas since 1948 and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. She served as a deputy clerk for the Moore County Tax Assessor-Collector from 1975 until 1992. After that, she worked at Wal-Mart for 14 years. She married J. Burl Lyles on May 8, 1948, in Channing. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. Survivors include a son, Jim Lyles and wife, Linda, of Lewisville; a daughter, Judy McWilliams and husband, Billy, of Denton; a sister, Freida Mae Allison of El Paso; a brother, Lawrence "Pete" Smith Jr. and wife, Sear, of Andrews; four grandchildren, Lauren Ashlee Lyles, Donnie Ulmer, Jimmy Ulmer and Kaleb Latimer; a niece, Susie Overton of Dumas; and a nephew, Terry Allison of El Paso. Maddox in Dumas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Artie Mae Gilbert TURKEY - Artie Mae Gilbert, 87, died Monday, May 9, 2005. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Fairmont Baptist Church in Quitaque with the Rev. Stuart Smith officiating. Burial will be in Gray Mule Cemetery, near Quitaque, by Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis. Mrs. Gilbert was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Aspermont, to the late H.E. Baker and Lilly (Brooks) Baker. She grew up in the Gray Mule area. She married Losey Dewane Gilbert on Nov. 26, 1938. She lived in Flomot for most of her life and moved to Turkey five years ago. She was a homemaker and mama, and was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 28, 2000; a son, Artie Bearl Gilbert in 1999; a brother, Roy Baker; and a sister, Molly Jo Timmermon. Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Hawkins of Quitaque, Pat House and Susie House, both of Turkey, and Darlene Brockett of Mesquite; two brothers, A.L. "Hoot" Baker of Flomot and Pat Baker of Waco; 10 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Edmondson was born Aug. 3, 1918, in Quanah. She married H.W. "Snooze" Edmondson on July 10, 1936. He married Betty Jane Ledbetter on June 16, 1955, in Clayton, N.M. Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Hininger of Dalhart; three sons, Billy Gist of Bovina, Delmer Cole of Shamrock and Mike Gist of Hill Air Force Base, Utah; a brother, Billy Gist of Polson, Mont.; two sisters, Wanda Gammell of Sturgis, S.D., and Phyllis Garner of Topeka, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Lopez was born Dec. 17, 1941, in La Fernia. He married Esperanza Lucio in Hereford in 1960. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Theresa Lopez Brice and Diana Lopez Mendoza, both of Amarillo, and Angelica Lopez Attaguile of El Paso; a son, Hesiquiel L. Mrs. Jones was born Oct. 16, 1952, in Abilene, Texas. She married Michael E. Jones on June 8, 1969, in Midland, Texas. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Guest was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Oilton. She married Donnie M. Guest in March 1951. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Joy Guest Graham of Guymon; a son, Donnie M. "Mike" Guest Jr. of Thornton, Colo.; a granddaughter; and a brother, James D. Strunk of Wichita, Kan. The family suggests memorials be to Dunaway Manor or Memorial Hospital Home Care and Hospice, and may be sent to the funeral home, Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Ida Mae Sallee SEQUIM, WASH. - Ida Mae Sallee, 93, died Saturday, May 7, 2005. Inurnment will at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas. Arrangements are by Harper Ridgeview of Port Angeles. Mrs. Sallee was a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was born in San Jon, N.M., to Lytle and Gertrude Barrett. She married James Ralph Sallee in January 1929. She spent her childhood in San Jon, a few years in Oklahoma and then about 60 years in Amarillo, where she managed and owned a couple of women's clothing stores while raising two children along with her husband. She later ran a home-based vitamin and health food business. She was actively involved with the Baptist church, studying scripture, enjoyed making ceramics as a hobby and loved dogs. She moved to Sequim in 1994 to be near to some of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a son, Jack Sallee; a brother, Lee Barrett; and a grandson, Charlie Sallee. Survivors include a daughter, Jimmie Field of Midlothian, Texas; a daughter- in-law, Winnie Sallee of Sequim; a brother, Don Barrett of Sugar Land, Texas; two sisters, Ann Whitt of Sugar Land and Ellen Thomas of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
