Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Latham was born May 23, 1923, in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School and was a member of Amarillo Junior League, Amarillo Symphony Guild and Rachel Group Circle at FCC. She was also a member of Heel and Toe Square Dance Club and Triad Book Club. Mrs. Latham was a founding underwriter and board member of Producers Lloyds Insurance Co. She was most proud of her family and greatly enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. To all who knew her, she was a most gracious, loving and caring person. Her home was always open to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Latham Jr. in November 2003; her parents, Hiram and Kate Linder; four brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include seven children, Linda Latham Hare, Ben Latham, Larry Latham and Pam Latham, all of Amarillo, Sally Latham Lawler and Patti Latham Sadler, both of Austin, and Debbie Latham Corbin of Duncan, Okla.; 24 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers Bill Linder of San Diego and Charles Linder of Shelton, Wash.; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Di Ann Johnson. "Bob" Barrington Robert N. "Bob" Barrington, 74, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with the Rev. Landrum Medlock and the Rev. Bob Philley, both of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Barrington was a lifelong resident of Amarillo and a 1948 graduate of Amarillo High School. He married Geraldine Brannan on Aug. 1, 1948, at Amarillo. He owned and operated Barrington Glass Co. from 1958 until his retirement in 1989. After his retirement he became active in remodeling homes and designing and installing leaded and beveled glass. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their motor home. In 1999, they traveled to Hawaii where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have also made trips to South America, Bogot Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil and Mexico. At the time of his death he was building a pontoon boat and was planning to float down the Arkansas River. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Dianne Vincent of Amarillo and Becky O'Connor and husband, Terrence P., of Borden, Ind.; two sons, Larry Barrington and David Barrington and wife, Sandra, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Ira Nae Woods of Illinois and Mahdeene DeBord and husband, Connie, of Hedley; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Violet "Vi" Mae Guyette Violet "Vi" Mae Guyette, 76, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 11, 2005. Georgia St. Mrs. Guyette was born Dec. 12, 1928, to Codie and Willie Mae Cowden. She was a member of United Methodist Women's Martha Circle, Church of Women United and was a past president and member of The Desk and Derrick Club and Rebecca Sunday School Class. Interstate 40. German was born Aug. 20, 2004, in Dallas. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Jack was born in Crowder, Okla., on May 1, 1915, and moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Wilburton, Okla. She married Andrew Jack in July 1933 at Wilburton. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jacinto Full Gospel Church. She will be greatly missed by all her family. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 2, 1991, in Amarillo; two sons, Doyle Jack and Rickey Jack, both of Amarillo; and a daughter, Bobby Thomas of Amarillo. Survivors include two sons, Sonny Jack and Dwain "Doki" Jack, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Luvena Labor, Skeet Labor and Jonell Tucker, all of Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Booth was a member of Westcliff Bible Church. She devoted her life to spreading the gospel. Lovingly know as "Grandear," she had 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. We especially appreciate the people who loved and supported our mother throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Griffin and her husband, Opie, were the original owners of the Valley Caf and the Steakhouse on Amarillo Boulevard in the 1960s and 1970s. She was an excellent grandmother and confidant. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and sister. Mrs. Hickey was born July 12, 1946, in San Antonio. Mrs. Hickey had been a Dumas resident until 1992 when she moved to St. Marys. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Speed was born Aug. 17, 1941, in Winnfield, La. He had been a resident of Hedley for the past 25 years. He married Georgia Nell Robertson on Dec. 13, 1974, in Clarendon. He had worked as a general laborer in several places throughout his life. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Gracie Speed of Belton; a half-sister; and four half-brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church in Stratford. Arrangements are by Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. Mrs. Cleveland was born in Stratford on Nov. 14, 1909, to Eula Peck Brown and J.T. Brown. She was the youngest of 10 children of the early Stratford merchant and was predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters. Hilma did research and traveled to gather information on the genealogies of the Brown and Peck families and on the migration of the Brown family from North Carolina through Tennessee, Central Texas and to Stratford in 1904. Although she had many interests and experiences, Mrs. Cleveland took most pride in her work as a teacher. Upon the death of her parents in 1926 and 1927 and with only one year of college at Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, Okla., she lived with the Wallace Steel family and taught five pupils at a one-room school out from Stratford.Later, while seeking to support her young son and with the assistance of many family members, she began a long process of acquiring more education, teaching during school terms and going to school at night and in summers.She eventually obtained her MA degree at West Texas State College in Canyon. She taught at school systems in Southwest Kansas, in Stratford and in Amarillo, notably at Alice Landergin Elementary and Paramount Terrace schools in Amarillo.She also taught in Germany in schools for Army dependent children. After retirement in 1975, Mrs. Cleveland moved to Sun City, Ariz., to live and travel with her sister, Helen. They later moved to Longview and, later,Irving. Survivors include a son, Joe Cleveland and wife, Shirley, of Irving; a granddaughter, Sidney Stallings, her husband, Heath, and their son, Slade, of Grapevine; and four nieces, Marlene Morris of Amarillo, Patty Watkins of Longview and Maureen Plunk and Katie Allen, both of Stratford. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
