Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Arney went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 21. Mrs. Arney was born May 29, 1922, in Platter, Okla., to George and Lillie Conover. Anna was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. She married Virgil Andrew Arney in Amarillo on Oct. 6, 1945. She was preceded in death by her father in 1966; her mother in 1995; a daughter, Nora Walton in 1995; and her husband in 1999. Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Wigman and husband, Dutch, of Mountain View, Ark., and Charlet Koonce and husband, Mack, and Janet Post and husband, T.J., all of Amarillo; two sisters, Jo Rhodes and Marie Martin, both of Amarillo; a stepson, Virgil Arney Jr. of Oregon; five grandchildren, Kim Hart of Dallas, Jasper Scott of Mount Vernon, Laura Yarber of Houston, Nick Post of Canyon and Lisa Born of Amarillo; much loved nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to be to the Make A Wish Foundation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Edward Sikes James Edward Sikes, 58, of Amarillo died Friday, May 20, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St. Private burial will be in Pampa. Mr. Sikes was born Aug. 13, 1946, to Robert and Marylu Sikes. James was married to the love of his life, Marina Sikes. Mr. Sikes was an Amarillo businessman for 30 years. He was the owner of Buchanan Repair and Machine and former owner of Jims Guns and Police Supply. He gave to his community as his community gave to him. He served his country in the Air Force for four years. He was the best role model to his community and most of all to his family. The pain is over Dad. We All love you. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother of Oklahoma; his wife; his sons and daughters, James Sikes Jr., Anthony Sikes, Magali Chavez, Antonio Cuellar, Chachi Cuellar and Yesenia Cuellar; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; along with many friends. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jenean Ward Jenean Ward, 71, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 21, 2005. Services will be at 9 a.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor at South Georgia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Baggett Cemetery in Gustine. Mrs. Ward was born May 30, 1933, in Baggett to Robert and Lona Dee Graham. She and her husband had lived in Dumas, Gustine and most recently, Amarillo. She retired from the Comanche County Tax Assessors Office. She loved all of her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working in the yard and quilting. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. She married Gene Ward on Jan. 24, 1951, in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mickey Gene Ward. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Ward of Gustine; a daughter, Belinda McGaha and husband, Bob, of Spearman; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church in Amarillo. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mrs. Gilmer was born May 11, 1912, in Bethany, W. Va., to Dr. Harry L. and Eva Ice. Friends will long remember Betty's loving friendship and caring Christian concern for the welfare of her family and others. Survivors include a sister, Mildred Chisholm of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Jimmy Gilmer of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jane Reichert of Wenatchee; a grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Hodges was born in Maude, Okla. He served in the Navy during World War II. Volley lived and farmed in the Lazbuddie and Friona communities for more than 50 years. For the previous 6 years, he had lived in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wilma, on Jan. 1, 2005; a daughter, Tommie Walters; and five sisters. Survivors include a son, Larry Hodges of Farmington, Ark.; a daughter, Linda Sofijczuk of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Hank Walters, DeeDee Deeter, Stacie Whatley, Lance Frazier, Gary Hodges and Eddie Joe Hodges; 10 great- grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers. "Oley" Olson, 87, died Saturday, May 21, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Penrod, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, Amarillo. Mr. Olson was born Feb. 25, 1918, in White City, Kan. He attended Fort Hayes College in Hayes, Kan. Mr. Olson married Bernice Benbow in Stockton, Kan., on July 6, 1939. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 6, 2004. He served in the Armed Forces and was a veteran of World War II. He worked for Halliburton and was superintendent of Duke Drilling Co. in Great Bend, Kan. He and his wife, Bernice, came to Pampa in 1963, establishing Tubing Testers, Inc., a company he owned and operated until he retired in 1984. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kent Olson and wife, Linda, of Pampa and Kim Olson and wife, Judy, of Greenwood, Ark.; two daughters, Sonya Dawes and husband, Carl, of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Pamela Brown of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Sneed FRITCH - Austin F. Sneed, 90, died Friday, May 20, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Southern Baptist Church with Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park, six miles west of Borger, by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mr. Sneed was born Dec. 21, 1914, to George and Cynthia Sneed in Aubrey. He and his family of six bothers and two sisters moved to Hedley when he was a teenager. On Oct. 8, 1938, he married Julia Folley in Donley County. They then made their home in Amarillo. He worked at the smelter and had a contracting fence business. After raising two daughters, they moved to Pampa. Mr. Sneed retired from Cabot Corporation in 1978. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jody Sneed of Fritch and Jeanne King and husband, Buddy, of Newcastle, Okla.; two granddaughters, Kari King of Amarillo and Lori Gonzalez and husband, Carlos, of Oklahoma City; and two brothers, Willard Sneed of Amarillo and Clyde Sneed of Weatherford. Pallbearers will be Buddy King, Carlos Gonzalez, Mike Adams, Carl Veukei, John Guy Folley, Joe Childers, Mike Geisler and Guy Folley. The family suggests memorials be to the Panhandle Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Heart Association. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home in Fritch. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joel Adkins PERRYTON - Joel Adkins, 16, died Saturday, May 21, 2005. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Laverty officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Borger by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Joel was born July 1, 1988, in Canadian. He lived in the Texas Panhandle his whole life. He was a sophomore at Perryton High School and played junior varsity football and basketball. He was a member of the Perryton High School Choir, the FCC Urgency Youth Group and First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Kerma Watson of Borger. Survivors include his parents, Robin and Valerie Adkins of Perryton; two sisters, Audrey Adkins and Kimberly Adkins, both of Perryton; his grandparents, Doug and Wanda Adkins of Borger; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and great-aunts and uncles. The family suggests memorials be to one's favorite scholarship fund for Perryton High School students or West Texas High School students. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Johnnie Davis OLTON - Johnnie Davis, 94, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, in Plainview. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford with Randy Rogers, her grandson, officiating. Arrangements are by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis was born April 3, 1911, in Missouri. She married Morris Davis on March 17, 1955, in Clayton, N.M. Survivors include two sons, Ray Cole of Breckenridge and Ken Cole of Odessa; a daughter, Jodie Rogers of Olton; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters. The family suggests memorials be to the Olton Ambulance Association, Drawer Q, Olton, TX 79064. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eunice Floyd MEMPHIS - Eunice Floyd, 85, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, in Childress. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Church of Christ with Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home. Mrs. Floyd was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Memphis to William Joseph Goffinett and Elizabeth Herd Goffinett. She married Woodrow "Tud" Floyd on Nov. 23, 1939, in Memphis. Survivors include two sons, Dwight Floyd and Dwayne Floyd, both of Memphis; two daughters, Carolyn Davis of Memphis and Betty Butcher of Canyon; 14 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
