Wilson Yvonne T. Wilson, 80, of Amarillo died Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Canyon Ward of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Brock Lovett, bishop, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Wilson was born June 25, 1924, in Independence, Mo. She graduated from William Chrisman High School. She attended Memphis State University and received her EdD. from the University of Tennessee. She married Nathan Smith in Independence in 1945. She married Henry Wilson in San Diego in 1989. He died in 1994. She was a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers and American Association of University Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret Tuckfield. Survivors include a son, Nathan Smith Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of Corona, Calif.; two daughters, Margaret Tate and husband, Bruce, of Canyon and Becky Talbert and husband, Rob, of Darnestown, Md.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer LaCroix and husband, Ed, of Phoenix and Elaine Barnes and husband, Dan, of Minneapolis; a brother, Ralph Tuckfield and wife, Jacquie, of San Diego; eight grandchildren, Laura Lockwood and husband, Joe, Bruce Tate Jr. and wife, Pele, Julianne Eddy and husband, Keith, Daniel Call and wife, Kirsti, Jonathan Talbert, Emily Talbert, Shane Smith and Jeremy Williams; 10 great- grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice in care of Olivia's Angels, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105. Clifton, 25, of Amarillo died Monday, May 23, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Regi Fowler of Paramount Terrace Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Clifton was born in Amarillo on March 9, 1980. He attended Amarillo High School and Amarillo Christian Academy. He attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church and enjoyed being in the Christmas Pageant every year. He was a loving son and father. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Keitha Clifton and Morris and Opal Bishop. Survivors include his parents, Larry and Debbie Clifton of Amarillo; three sons, Logan James Clifton, Cole Garrett Clifton and Jacob Daniel Loyd, all of Amarillo; and his special friends, Annie Loyd and her children, David and Matthew Loyd, whom he was raising. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adel S. Singleton Adel S. Singleton, 71, of Amarillo died Sunday, May 22, 2005. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Umbarger Cemetery in Umbarger with Monsignor Waldo, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Singleton was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Umbarger to John Schoenberger and Bertha Rebsamen Schoenberger. Survivors include a son, Billy Singleton of Lubbock; a daughter, Pat Gibson of Suffolk, Va.; a brother, Tony Singleton of Pineville, La.; six sisters, Anna Shumaker, Theresa Dossett and Chris Bishop, all of Amarillo, Mary Lee of Duran, N.M., Evelyn Touchstone of McCall Creek, Miss., and Sally Phillips of Glendale, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret Susan Maio Margaret Susan Maio, 96, of Amarillo died Friday, May 20, 2005. Graveside services will be Tuesday in Trinidad Catholic Cemetery in Trinidad, Colo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Maio was born Jan. 28, 1909, to Saverio "Sam" and Anna Maio in Morley, Colo. She had last worked as a nurse. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Maria Francisca Bautista FARWELL - Maria Francisca Bautista, 66, died Monday, May 23, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Temple of Adoration Church in Friona with the Rev. Ruben Rivera officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Bautista, a Farwell resident for the past five years, moved from Friona where she had lived for the past 38 years. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Juan Bautista Jr. of Idalou, Pedro Bautista of Amarillo, Larry Bautista of Los Fresnos and Frankie Bautista of Farwell; four daughters, Rosa Chavez of Farwell, Maria Chavez of Amarillo, Annabell Bautista of Muleshoe and Gracie Ortega of Dallas; two sisters, Juana Herrera and Eladaia Bautista, both of Los Fresnos; two brothers, Natividad and Isidoro Saldania, both of Los Fresnos; 25 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gloria R. Cantu HEREFORD - Gloria R. Cantu, 39, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today and Friday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mrs. Cantu was born June 1, 1965, in San Antonio to Adolfo Rocha Sr. and Anita Martinez Rocha. She attended schools and graduated from Hereford High School in 1984. Survivors include a son, Robert Cantu III of Hereford; her father of Hereford; four brothers, Adolfo Rocha Jr., Roger Rocha and Rocky Rocha, all of Hereford, and Lupe Rocha of Amarillo; and a sister, Gracie Zepeda of Hereford. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dennis Noggler HEREFORD - Dennis Noggler, 72, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Valdez officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Noggler was born June 28, 1932, in Hereford, the son of John and Mary Noggler. He married Peggy Alford on April 21, 1955, in Umbarger. She preceded him in death on July 13, 1982. He married Verna Clampitt on Dec. 29, 1971, in Hereford. She preceded him in death on April 16, 1997. Mr. Noggler was a veteran, having served in the Army with the 307th Military Police Battalion during the Korean conflict. After his discharge, he moved back to Hereford to pursue the family farming business. Mr. Noggler was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Survivors from his first marriage include three sons, Dennis James Noggler of Wildorado, Donald Ray Noggler of Brownfield and John Mark Noggler of Adrian; and two daughters, Margaret Chopel of San Ramon, Calif., and Theresa Fangman of Hereford. Survivors from his second marriage include two sons, Dennis Wayne Noggler of Big Spring and Danny Noggler of Sioux City, Iowa; and four stepsons, Larry Huff of McCaully, Vernon Huff of Iowa, Billy Huff of Missouri and Mike Huff of Big Spring. Other survivors include two brothers, Lourdel Noggler of Hereford and Jerome Noggler of Amarillo; four sisters, Bernice Noggler of Amarillo, LaVerne Kearns and Alice Hund, both of Hereford, and Rose Ann Irlbeck of Brownwood; and 17 grandchildren. Carter PAMPA - Ruth C. Carter, 81, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in McKnight Cemetery near Hollis, Okla. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Carter had been a resident of Pampa since 1983, moving from Cee Vee. She was a Baptist. Survivors include a son, Kenny Carter of Pampa; and a sister, Eloise Brister of Pampa. Cunning HAPPY - Kenneth H. Cunning, 67, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in Hope, Ark. Memorial services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mr. Cunning was born April 2, 1938, in Hood River, Ore. He was self-employed in trucking. Survivors include his wife, Charlene; a son, Wayne Cunning of California; three daughters, Annette Cunning, Sherry Nunley and Toni Ybarra, all of Oregon; a stepdaughter, Misty Sharman of New Mexico; two brothers, Roy Cunning and Mick Cunning, both of California; a sister, Darlene Ayers of California; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Raymond Ward WELLINGTON - Raymond Ward, 97, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Huntress, the Rev. Kevin Everett, pastor, and the Rev. John Henry Ward officiating. Burial will be in North Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Ward was born May 19, 1908, in Atoka County, Okla., to William H. Ward and Vashti Fryer Ward. He married Alice Bruce on Jan. 1, 1928, in Eldorado, Okla. He came to the Midway Community of Collingsworth County on Jan. 4, 1928, from Atoka. He lived north of Wellington for 35 years. He was a farmer/rancher, a Baptist and had served on the Shinery School Board, City State Bank Board and Farmers Co-op Gin Board. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; a granddaughter, Deanna Jo Ward; a great-granddaughter, Jessica Cordell; a son-in-law, Earl Patterson; a daughter-in-law, Eddie Jo Ward; four brothers; and a sister. Survivors include two sons, John Henry Ward and Bruce Ward and wife, Lana, all of Wellington; seven daughters, Louise Powell and husband, Neal, of Tulia, Tommie Watts and husband, Charlie, Delores Patterson, Glenna Fourmentin and husband, Richard, and Adelle Barnett and husband, Johnny, all of Wellington, Vera Huntress and husband, Tom, of Palestine and Sue Berry and husband, Jim, of Amarillo; 35 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great- grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nancy Adler and the Rev. Wes Peterman officiating. Burial will be in Laverne Memorial Cemetery with military rites by Laverne/Buffalo American Legion. Arrangements are by Myatt-Seeger Funeral Home. Mr. Barker was born Nov. 29, 1941, in Lubbock, Texas. He served in the Marines. Survivors include a son, Jeff Glen Barker of Laverne; a stepson, James Roy Isebell of Dalhart, Texas; a stepdaughter, Lori Faye Wilkinson of Dalhart; a brother, Freddy Dwayne Barker of Guymon; a sister, Judy Beth Kirby of Cleburn, Texas; a half-sister, Glinda Ramirez of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Francis Tyler Simpkins COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Staff Sgt. Francis Tyler Simpkins, 23, died Monday, May 23, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Cal Farley's Boys Ranch Chapel in Boys Ranch, Texas, with Cory Wall officiating. Burial will be in Boys Ranch Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, Texas, 4100 S. Georgia St. Staff Sgt. Simpkins was born June 21, 1981. He grew up at Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and graduated in 1999. He participated in many ranch activities. He excelled in the rodeo as a bull fighter, later becoming a pro. When he could, he later returned to teach with Lyle Shankey Rodeo school, which was held at the ranch annually. He joined the Army and served in Iraq for 14 months. Staff Sgt. Francis Tyler Simpkins distinguished himself in service to his country. He attended One Station Unit Infantry Training at Fort Benning, Ga. Upon completion, he was assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment in June 2000. While assigned to A. Co., SSG Simpkins advanced through the ranks with lightning speed. He served as SAW gunner, Bradley crewman, team leader and lastly as squad leader. Staff Sgt. Simpkins' awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer's Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Infantryman's Badge and Combat Infantryman's Badge. He earned the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award in 2002 within the 4000-man 3rd Brigade Combat team. He also earned the Audie Murphy award. In 2003 and 2004, he served with the utmost distinction during a 12-month tour in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Upon returning, he was a part of the Army realignment which redesignated A Co. to the 1-68 AR Battalion. Staff Sgt. Simpkins' military professional development schools include the Primary Leadership Development Course, Combat Lifesaver's Course, and Bradley Crew Evaluator Course. He was preceded in death by his father, Sonny Simpkins; and a sister, Andrea Burt. Survivors include two children, Coltin Simpkins and Keegen Simpkins, both of Colorado Springs; his former wife, Kim Simpkins of Colorado Springs; a sister, Lori Stanhope and husband, Mike, of Amarillo; his mother, Alesa Scales of Borger, Texas; his house parents, mom and dad, Madaline and Troy Dunn of Boys Ranch, his brothers and Boys Ranch family; two nieces; a nephew; his grandparents, Marie Cacey and Buddy Simpkins; and numerous aunts and uncles. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
