Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Pinnacle Community Church. Mrs. Armstrong was preceded in death by her mother, Verneal Walker, and a son, Earl Wayne Banks. Survivors include her father, W.L. "Cotton" Walker of Perryton; a daughter, Michelle Townsend of Austin; a son, Johnny Ennis of Houston; a sister, Jeri Hisel and husband, James, of Sandia; two brothers, Danny Walker and wife, Pam, of Amarillo and Marc Walker of Plainview; a special friend, Paul Maurice of Amarillo; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 905, Amarillo, TX 79176. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nelda Jean Kent Nelda Jean Kent, 65, of Amarillo died Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with the Rev. Justin Coleman officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Miss Kent was born Nov. 15, 1939, in Miami, to Mr. Gharney Kent and Mrs. Opal Wheeler Kent. Survivors include four brothers, Bobby Kent and Billy Kent, both of Amarillo, and Don Kent and Jim Kent, both of Fairfield; and two sisters, Judy Allen of Pasadena and Linda Woods of Fairfield. The family suggests memorials be to Community Options, 16 Farber Road, Princeton, NJ 08540. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Creed Lamb MCLEAN - Creed Lamb, 74, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kelly Raymond officiating and the Rev. Thacker Haynes and the Rev. Jim Reyna assisting. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Mr. Lamb was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Memphis to the late Mr. Creed Lamb Sr. and Mrs. Ara Jean Jefferson Lamb. Creed was a graduate of Memphis High School in 1949. He then attended and graduated from Landig Mortuary College in Houston in 1950. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean War. He married Wanda Hoover on March 15, 1952, in Clovis, N.M. They moved to McLean in 1956 from Littlefield. Creed was funeral director and owner of Lamb Funeral Home in McLean for 36 years, during which time he served hundreds of families with care and kindness. He was a cattleman as well. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 889 in McLean, where he was Past Master, Lodge 929 in Shamrock, was also a member of Eastern Star in Shamrock and York Rite, Scottish Rite and Khiva Temple of the Shrine in Amarillo. Creed was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Mothershed and Jean Dewlen. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Creed Lamb of Houston; three daughters, Regina Jones and Denise Browning, both of Amarillo and Anna Jean Lamb Michalenko of McLean; two sisters, Evelyn Buchanan of Las Cruces, N.M., and Jo Carmen of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Al Dewlen of Waco; 10 grandchildren, Misty Browning of Denver, Katrina Jones, Dusty Browning, Kassie Jones and Kaleigh Jones, all of Amarillo, Courtney Lamb, Mariah Lamb and Ryan Creed Lamb, all of Rapid City, S.D., and Tyler Creed Lamb and Ariel Michalenko, both of McLean. Mr. Pointer was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Quitaque. He was also a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother, Faye Pointer of Quitaque; two sons, Cory Pointer and Brandon Pointer, both of Quitaque; and two daughters, Angie Pointer of Childress and Alyssa Pointer of Quitaque. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edgar Earl "Ed" Brown PAMPA - Edgar Earl "Ed" Brown, 57, died Thursday, May 26, 2005. Graveside services will be at s2 p.m. today in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Lefors with Billy Wheeler, pastor of River of Life Fellowship of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Brown was born June 11, 1947, in Pampa. He had been a resident of Midland for 25 years before moving to Pampa in 1996. He was a member of the Cowboy Association in Gideons. He was an independent insurance agent for the past five years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was the World Champion Skeet Shooter in 1974. He was past vice president of the National Youth Rodeo Association, and he participated in team roping for several years. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Dunlap Brown of Amarillo, and a son, Beau Brown of Garland City, Ark. The family suggests memorials be to Life Challenge of Amarillo, 6500 Hope Road, Amarillo, TX 79119. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hershell Lee "Perk" Herring PAMPA - Hershell Lee "Perk" Herring, 68, died Thursday, May 26, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Laverty, a Baptist minister, officiating. Mr. Herring was self-employed and was a Baptist. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Bridges of Pampa and Judy Huggins of Stratford; two sons, Frank Herring of Alton, Mo., and Vernon Herring of Pampa; three sisters, Norma Jean Close of Vernon, Selinda Beriagan of Burwell, Neb., and Sharon Ann Robertson of Graham; 13 grandchildren; and several great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Golda Saulsbury PAMPA - Golda Saulsbury, 94, died Thursday, May 26, 2005. Services were at 1 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Dr. Johnny Funderburg, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Saulsbury worked for Pampa Cable Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Saulsbury of Pampa, and a daughter, Kebby Mitchell of Dallas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere David Wayne Morrison DENTON - David Wayne Morrison, 40, formerly of Hereford, died Sunday, May 22, 2005. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home in Hereford. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Mr. Morrison was born May 16, 1965, in Hopewell, Va., the son of Herman and Shirley Morrison. He worked in the restaurant industry. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Ernest Serna of Hereford; three brothers, Herman Morrison and Alan Morrison, both of Amarillo, and Michael Morrison of Hereford; and two sisters, Shirley Herrera and Betty Cuelair, both of Houston. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
