Memorial services will be at 9 a.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Bob Thomas, chaplain at Odyssey Hospice, officiating. Mr. Brock was born Jan. 12, 1944, in Newbern, N.C., to David and Sara Brock. He served with the Navy during Vietnam. He had last worked as an electrician. Survivors include his companion, Beverly Tubbs of Amarillo; a daughter, Merica "Lani" Brock of Washington; a stepdaughter, Debbie Schooling of Amarillo; two stepsons, Eddie Turlington and Jimmy Turlington, both of Amarillo; his mother, Sara Brock of Newport, N.C.; two brothers, Kenneth Brock of Newport and Ronald Brock of Wilmington, N.C.; two sisters, Linda Best of Newport and Patricia Gatlin of Leland, N.C.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel, 509 N. Hughes St., with the Rev. Howard Romaine officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in City Cemetery in Jacksonville. Mrs. Kellum was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Nacogdoches. She attended Fred Douglas High School and Texas College in Tyler. Survivors include two nieces, Carolyn McCann of Jacksonville and Dorothy Jones of Houston; three nephews, Roosevelt Linicomn of Desoto, James Linicomn of Arlington and George Linicomn of Corsicana; and an aunt, Aibenzine Berry of Lufkin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Bill Hemphill ROARING SPRINGS - Bill Hemphill, 78, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Mr. Hemphill worked for the 6666 ranch at Guthrie for more than 20 years, retiring as wagon boss. Survivors include two sons, Billy "Boo" Hemphill of Roaring Springs and Bobby Hemphill of Magnolia; a daughter, Becky Marley of Carlsbad, N.M.; a sister, Elva Clay of Dickens; two brothers, Tommy Hemphill of Blossom and J.E. Hemphill of Peacock. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lionisio Ruiz Sr. HEREFORD - Lionisio Ruiz Sr., 76, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Garcia officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Ruiz was born April 11, 1929, in Stamford, the son of Bravo and Nacha Ruiz. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by two sons; two sisters; and a brother. Survivors include six sons, Raul Ruiz, Luis Ruiz and Miguel Ruiz, all of California, Jerry Ruiz of Altus, Okla., and Christopher Ruiz-Sanders of Clovis, N.M.; two daughters, Dianna Ruiz and Antonia Ruiz, both of Hereford; three brothers, Frank Ruiz of Altus, Bobby Ruiz of Summerfield and Martin Ruiz of Martha, Okla.; three sisters, Paula Landin of Hereford, Trininy Cantu of Lometa and Eva Ruiz of Arizona; and 12 grandchildren. "Bill" Fulton PERRYTON - William H. "Bill" Fulton, 85, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Ochiltree Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. in First Christian Church with Bob Schroeder of Paramount Terrace Christian Church in Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Fulton was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Perryton. He was the first baby boy born in Perryton. He married Emmye Lou Taylor on Jan. 1, 1946, in Perryton. He was a World War II veteran and served with the 483rd bomb group, 15th Air Force, in North Africa and Italy. He retired after 30 years with Natural Gas Pipeline Co. in 1986. He had lived in Amarillo for the past five years. Mr. Fulton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He shared with his family that he thought Jesus was waiting on him and that he was ready to go home. He will be missed so very much. A special thanks from the family goes to The Clairmont Retirement Center, Texas Senior Care Home Health and BSA Hospice for their loving and gentle care. He was preceded in death by his parents, William David and Bertha Fulton; three sisters, Bea Conner, Evelyn Leatherman and Bernice Reynolds; and his wife. Mrs. Ivy was born April 4, 1962, in Borger. She married Bobby Ivy on Aug. 22, 1980, in Stinnett. Mr. Ellena was born July 27, 1929, in Lansing, Mich. He married Rosie Blair on April 27, 1951, in Fredrick, Okla. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Mrs. Morrison had been a resident of Pampa since 1933, moving to Dumas four years ago. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 653 in Dumas and First Baptist Church of Dumas. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Adair of Dumas; a son, Ken Morrison of Amarillo; a sister, Eve Funderburg of Alvin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robertson was a beautiful mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren very much. Survivors include three sons, Floyd Q. Robertson of Silver City, N.M., Ernie Robertson of Moore, Okla., and James Robertson of Higgins; two daughters, Linda Ward of Orlando and Lois Bernand; 13 grandchildren; 32 great- grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Box 695, Shattuck, OK 73858. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Herman Calvin "Cal" Walker CONWAY - Herman Calvin "Cal" Walker, 80, died Tuesday, May 31, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Claude Cemetery in Claude with the Rev. Bill Fuller of First Baptist Church of Panhandle officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Walker passed away Tuesday at the hospice unit of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 17, 1925. His parents were Charles and Lyda Hathorn Walker. He was a graduate of Panhandle High School class of 1942. Cal was a member of First Baptist Church in Panhandle, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and Carson County Farm Bureau. Cal and his brother, Phil, were active farmers and cattlemen in Carson and Armstrong counties for many years. His paternal grandparents were Carson County pioneers, Milton Green and Melinda Lou (Tishey) Campbell Walker, who homesteaded land in Carson County. His maternal grandparents were Mack and Emma Phillips Hathorn, who were married on the JA Ranch, and who relocated to Claude and built the first home in Claude. The family extends special thanks to cousins, Nita Walker Duncan and Jim and Leta Walker for their thoughtfulness and care giving at this difficult time, to the emergency room doctor and his staff at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital, to the staff at the hospice unit and to the staff at Amarillo Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his older brother, Charles Phillips "Phil" Walker, who died Aug. 21, 2001, of cancer in the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. Survivors include a sister, Mary Sue Walker Olson of Richland, Wash.; a niece, Janet Olson White of Kennewick, Wash.; a great-niece, Brittany Paetel of Kennewick; and several cousins in the Amarillo and Hereford areas. She loved her family and grandchildren, loved to read and play bingo.
