Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Dana Moore officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Bell was born Dec. 5, 1912, between Amarillo and Canyon. She married Paul W. Bell on Nov. 10, 1929. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1970. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker, mother, avid reader and a voracious card and "42" player. She was a member of the Naomi Sunday school class at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include five daughters, Barbara Perdue and husband, Joe, of Amarillo, Betty Cloud and husband, Herschel, of Yorba Linda, Calif., Paula McCarty and husband, John, of Highland Village, Sandra Gillmore and husband, Phillip, of Fritch and Jan Pound and husband, Lester of Conroe; a son, Jim W. Bell of Possum Kingdom Lake; two sisters; a brother; 18 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Tafoya, 59, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 8, 2005. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Christian Life Center with Rosendo De Los Santos, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Tafoya was born in Tucumcari, N.M., and graduated from high school in Roswell, N.M. He served in the National Guard for four years. He married Inez Madril in Roswell on Feb. 15, 1965. He moved to Amarillo in 1976. Mr. Tafoya loved computers and music. He played in many churches over the years. He was preceded in death by his father, Ignacio Espinoza; his mother, Isabel Tafoya; and a grandchild. He served in the Marines for two years during the Korean conflict. He also served as a patrol officer for the Amarillo Police Department and was in the top five of the police department in 1955. Mr. Everett also worked for 35 years for Plains Creamery in wholesale and as a supervisor. He married Janice Duncan in 1954. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a brother. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Randy Everett and wife, Glee, of Vancouver, Wash., and Chuck Everett of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Evie Everett, both of Vancouver. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Coon was born June 23, 1932, in Seymour to Trellis and Chester Meetze. She graduated from Amarillo High School and attended the Ward Belmont Girls School in Nashville, Tenn., and the University of Texas in Austin. Mrs. Coon was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, the Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity, the Junior League of Amarillo and the Amarillo Country Club. She married Richard Sanford Coon on June 20, 1952, in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Doughtie and husband, Tom; a son, Richard Coon and wife, Karla; and four grandchildren, Anne Doughtie, Will Doughtie, Bailey Coon and Brice Coon. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Landrum Medlock, Johnny Dellis, chaplain, and Dr. Delbert Serratt officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Serratt of Amarillo was born March 22, 1934, in Sudan and graduated from Sudan High School. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956 in Okinawa. He attended West Texas State University and received an associates degree in fire science from Amarillo College. Mr. Serratt married Beth Adams on Sept. 1, 1957. Along with their four children, they shared their home with 26 foster children from 1975 to 1983. Ken retired from the Amarillo Fire Department after being our hometown hero from 1964 to 1991. He was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters Union. Ken was also a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees. Ken and Beth always witnessed for their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was also president of the Greater Amarillo Foster Parent Association. Ken had a God-given talent for art and blessed the Panhandle area with oil paintings, wall murals, custom signs and sketches. His smile could brighten any situation, and his greatest gift was doing for others. He had an enormous appetite for life and his three C's: Christ, Charity and Community. He helped his wife direct D.R.E.S.S. Child Development Center at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church for many years. He was a self-taught computer genius and helped many a buddy with any problems and enjoyed every minute of it. He was preceded in death by his father, J.J. Serratt in 1967, and a brother, Sonny Serratt in 2000. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado, Kan. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns Cemetery. Mrs. Cumming was born June 14, 1918, in Thomas, Okla., the daughter of Charlie Bert Andrus and Fanny Kate Clark Andrus. She graduated in the class of 1936 from El Dorado High School. She graduated in nursing from Wesley Hospital. During World War II, she served with the Army Nursing Corps in Australia and New Guinea. On June 14, 1944, she married George W. Cumming in Port Moresby, New Guinea. For many years, she worked for several doctors' offices and later became a lead nurse for the American Red Cross in Wichita. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Andrus, Roy Andrus and Fred Andrus, all of El Dorado; and a sister, Iris Lovern of El Dorado. Survivors include two sons, George Cumming and wife, Janice, of Amarillo, and John Cumming and wife, Pamela, of Tyler; a daughter, Rear Admiral Elizabeth Hight, USN and husband, BG Gary Salisbury USAF (ret), of Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren; Trey Cumming and wife, Helen, of California, and Kimberly Jones and husband, Rich, Alan Cumming and wife, Sarah, and Thomas Cumming and wife, Jamie, all of Texas; a niece, Linda Pendarvis; a nephew, Dave Andrus; and a sister-in-law, Verna Lee Andrus. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kinney was born Feb. 25, 1927, in St. Louis. She had been a resident of Dumas and Moore County since 1953. She married Aurel E. Kinney on March 22, 1947, in Canon City, Colo. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church of Dumas. She served as secretary for the Girl Scouts, was a volunteer for Rose Ladies and was receptionist for Martin & McCormick, Optometrists, for many years. She was a homemaker and loved being part of a large family who adored her. Mrs. Dixon was born Nov. 13, 1921, in Alanreed to the late Mr. James Green and Mrs. Ella Davis Green. Irene attended grammar school at Washita Elementary and was a graduate of Canadian High School. She then attended and graduated from Draughon Business School in Borger. She married Marvin Dixon on Dec. 18, 1936, in Mobeetie. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1996. Irene moved to Borger and resided there from 1950 until 1970. She then moved back to Hemphill County. She was an independent bookkeeper and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Audie Dixon; a brother, James Green; and a sister, Estelle Downs. Mr. Wagner was born May 5, 1918, in Tulsa, Okla. He was a 1936 graduate of Tulsa High School and attended Tulsa University for a year. He married Esther Pauline Anderson on Dec. 19, 1943, in New Orleans. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1959. He was employed by Cabot-Ingersoll-Rand for 43 years, retiring as a cost analyst. He was active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from 1952 until 1961. He was a member of First United Methodist Church for 46 years. He was a member of Winsome Sunday school class, serving as class president from 1962 to 1963. He was a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club. He was a member of the Pampa Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf with friends. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II, and was discharged as a first lieutenant with the Transportation Corps. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Wieck was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Randall County to John and Helen Friemel Bedenk. She was a lifetime resident of Randall County. She attended Umbarger schools and married Joe Wieck in Umbarger on Oct. 15, 1940. "Olie" and Joe farmed and ranched near Umbarger until 1984, when they retired and moved to Canyon. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and Christian Mothers in Umbarger and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Canyon. She was also a member of Umbarger Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Conklin in 1976 and Rose Liekhus in 1981. Mr. Bridgeman was born April 27, 1918, in Roscoe to the late James T. and Hattie Mae Byrd Bridgeman. Mr. Bridgeman attended school in Snyder and Lubbock and graduated from Lamesa High School. After high school, he attended West Texas and Colorado State Universities. He was a veteran of the Army. Zeke proudly and courageously served his country during World War II from the beginning until the end of the war. Zeke served in Africa and was involved in the southern invasion of Italy and ended his military service in Germany. He served in the 8th Corp, Second Field Artillary Observation Battalion. Zeke married Anita Stuart on Feb. 6, 1946, in Dallas. In 1961, they moved to Lubbock from Midland. Mr. Bridgeman was employed as terminal area manager of Curry Motor Freight of Lubbock for 23 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Lubbock Transportation Club, Optimist Club in Snyder and the Red Raider Club. He was an avid football fan and a big supporter of the Red Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Bridgeman served as deacon at First Christian Church in Snyder and also First Christian Church in Lubbock. At the time of his death, he was a member of Westmont Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 14, 2003. Survivors include twin daughters, Glenna Chisum and Connie Hollinshead, both of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Kristin Mendez and husband, Larry, and Ashley Graves, and husband, Brent, all of Amarillo, and J Hollinshead and wife, Christy, of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren; and his beloved sister, Dina "Titcher" Lawrence of Lubbock . Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mrs. Havenhill had been a longtime resident of Pampa, moving to Lubbock three years ago. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ in Pampa.
