Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ihsan Ardhuerumly officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Aurouze was born in Amarillo on Aug. 19, 1921, to Floyd and Lucille Bingham. She attended Amarillo High School and married Henry "Hank" F. Aurouze on March 5, 1943, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death in November 1993. She was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a lifetime member of the Parent Teacher Association. She was a volunteer for the hospital auxiliary at St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo and the Borger Hospital. Mrs. Aurouze was known to her grandchildren as "Mumzy." Mumzy was also an adopted grandmother to her favorite first-grade teacher, Susan Sublett and her 2003-2004 first-grade class at St. Andrew's Episcopal School. She was also preceded in death by a half brother Jake Bingham, and two sisters Mary Melendy and Peggy Lemons. Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Hite and husband, Bill, of Pampa; a grandson, Chris Hite of Dallas; a granddaughter, Meredith Hite of Dallas; a brother, Floyd Bingham and wife, Marian, of Amarillo; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Bingham of Houston; three nieces, Cathy Lockhart and husband, J.C., Debbie Meadors and husband, Dan, and Dena Rattan and husband, Chris, all of Amarillo; and four nephews, Jay Bingham and Rick Lemons and wife, Kathy, of Amarillo, Steve Lemons and wife, Ginger, of Richardson and Ron Melendy and wife, Paula, of Edmond, Okla. "Bill" Shaw William D. "Bill" Shaw, 79, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 21, 2005. Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Shaw was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Lingle, Wyo., to Edward Shaw and Hulda Brandt Shaw. He served in the Navy during World War II on the battleship California. He moved to Amarillo in 1965 from Lincoln, Neb. He retired from Yellow Freight as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eldon Shaw; and three sisters, Luella Kenny, Norma Kenny and Sara Cox. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Davis of Huntington, Ind.; two sons, William Shaw of Gas City, Ind., and LeRoy Shaw of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Loren Shaw of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Lueda Oshsnen of Lincoln; and eight grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donna Kay Shuping Donna Kay Shuping, 62, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 22, 2005. Memorial services will be at a later date in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Shuping was born Oct. 18, 1942, in Dumas to Knox and Florence Robertson. Donna was the oldest of four children. She was retired from the phone company in Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Shuping in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Shelly Wells of Amarillo and Paula Bowers of Amarillo; a sister, Lynda Stephenson of Borger; and three grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nancy Jean Brace Nancy Jean Brace, 56, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, in Kaiserslautern, Germany. A memorial celebrating her life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with G.A. Roach, chaplain at Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Mrs. Brace was born March 19, 1949, in Dalhart. Living most of her life in Amarillo, Nancy had that special pride only true Texans understand. She married and started a family early, leaving school after the eighth grade. Though she struggled many years, both financially and with her relationships, she never lost her sense of adventure or the simple joy of living. Nancy loved to put her hands to work for others, as shown by her involvement with organizations like the United Way, the Clovis Cultural Committee, the Society for Creative Anachronism and others we haven't room to list. She eventually put herself back in school without assistance, and earned a technical degree. After 15 years of repair work, she changed careers to be with children as a licensed teacher. Traveling with her husband, Tim, Nancy finally got to live in the Europe she had dreamed of visiting. Even during her last months of illness, she maintained the hope of returning home to Amarillo to see her family and friends again. Technician, teacher, mother hen, she spread her love and made us better people. Survivors include her beloved husband, Timothy; her children, Johnny Nowell of Dumas, Zonia Rosenthal of Trussville, Ala., Carl Nowell of Maple Park, Ill., and Brian Lisman of Security, Colo.; a brother, Raymond Sutton of Casper, Wyo.; a sister, Barbara Cromer of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren. I. "Peck" Pettit, 81, died Thursday, June 23, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor, officiating. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Pettit was born Nov. 23, 1923, in Babs Switch, Okla., and was an Amarillo resident for 32 years before moving to Howardwick in 1981. He married Margaret Ann Carlson on April 23, 1949, at Round Rock. He retired from Western Electric Telephone/AT&T as an installer after 35 years. He was involved in numerous organizations and activities in the Howardwick area throughout his life. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Pettit of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, the Rev. Max Pettit and wife, Dorothy, of El Paso, Glenn Pettit of Lubbock and Bill Pettit and wife, Betty, of Santa Fe; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherry Ellen Van Natta BORGER - Sherry Ellen Van Natta, 60, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in Amarillo. Mrs. Van Natta was born Jan. 25, 1945, in Dodge City, Kan. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Mr. Braddock was born Oct. 2, 1918, in Cooper and had lived in Clarendon most of his life before moving to Pampa two years ago. He married Doris Winniefred Ing in May 1949 at Las Cruces, N.M. He had worked in the pipeline construction business for much of his life before his retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of Clarendon VFW Post 7782. He was also a member of Pipeliners Union 798 and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Keith Braddock and Robert Wayne Braddock. Mrs. Wilson was born July 8, 1952, in Denton to Melvin H. and Ruby Fletcher Hassenpflug Sr. She moved to Friona in 1964 and graduated from Friona High School in 1970. She began her career in city government with the city of Friona in 1981. She became Friona city manager in 1992. She received her state of Texas certified public manager degree from the State Certification for Public Service at Texas Tech University in 2003. She served the city of Tulia as city manager from 2003 to 2005, when she then retired due to health reasons. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tulia. She was married to Mike Wilson from October 1969 to October 1997. She was a member of the Texas City Managers Association, the Panhandle Managers Association and the Regional Solid Waste Advisory Committee. She was a past member of the board of directors of the Texas Panhandle Regional Development Corp., Panhandle Revenue Recovery Association, West Texas Municipal Power Authority and the Driskoll House. She was preceded in death by her father in 1990. Survivors include her mother of Friona; two sons, Eddie Wilson and Jack Wilson, both of Red River, N.M.; a brother, Melvin Hassenpflug Jr. of Phoenix; two sisters, Anita Lyons of Hereford and Tamela Bandy of Friona; and a grandson, Slade Wilson. Seventh Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret Guilloud Ashlock DALHART - Margaret Guilloud Ashlock, 84, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Clifford Dane, minister to senior adults, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Ashlock was born July 31, 1920, in Denison and moved at age 6 to the Dalhart area with her parents, Dorothy Holder Guilloud and Ernest Guilloud Sr., farming and ranching pioneers. Her paternal grandparents, Marie Arn Guilloud and Henry Guilloud, immigrated to Texas from Switzerland in 1889, and her maternal grandparents, Comanche Strait Holder and Clinton Lafayette Holder, were native Texas pioneers. On Dec. 9, 1939, she married Carl George Ashlock, whose family had come to Texas from Kentucky. Together they made their home in Dalhart for 48 years and are survived by four of their seven children. Mrs. Ashlock attended Rehm School and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1937. She was an accomplished, published poet and shared her many poems with family and friends. After moving to Amarillo in 1999, she became an active member of the High Plains Chapter, Poetry Society of Texas. Mrs. Ashlock was a longtime and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Dalhart. She will be greatly missed by all her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her husband; a sister, Aline Guilloud Moore; a brother, Ernest Guilloud Jr.; two daughters, Frances Joan Ashlock and Nanette Ashlock Robertson; and a son, Clyde Ashlock. Mrs. Hahn was born March 8, 1922, to John and Josie Walker Yeates in Forrest. She married Kenneth Hahn on Nov. 11, 1939, in Clovis. Survivors include a daughter, Janie Gosselin of Roswell; a brother, Travis Yeates of House; four sisters, Lucille Throgmorton, Ida Pearl Yeates, Beatrice Bassett Johnson and Madie Krizan, all of Clovis; and two grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Jane Headlee Westberry Jane Headlee Westberry, 63, of Canyon died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donna Johnston, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Westberry was born July 19, 1941, in Shattuck, Okla., the first child of Leona Lockhart Headlee and Ralph Headlee. She grew up in Perryton and graduated from Perryton High School. She married Gary Alton Taylor in 1959. In 1962, she married Morris Westberry of Hereford. Mrs. Westberry received bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees from West Texas State University, now West Texas A&M University, where she was elected to Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Later, she undertook additional study and received mid-management and superintendent certification. She was a member and past president of Zeta Zeta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. She was an educator for 34 years, having taught at the secondary level in Hereford from 1962 to 1964, Happy from 1964 to 1968 and Canyon from 1969 to 1981. From 1981 to 1985, she served schools throughout the Panhandle as a curriculum consultant for Region XVI Education Service Center and also presented many seminars and programs for professional educators. From 1985 to 1990, she was curriculum director and assistant superintendent for Childress ISD and served that district as interim superintendent in 1990. She also taught evening classes for Amarillo College and West Texas State University. She served Waxahachie ISD from 1990 to 1995 as K-6 curriculum director. She retired in December 1995 and returned to Canyon. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon and the Canyon Retired Teachers and School Personnel. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include a son, John Phillip Taylor and wife, Cathy, of Greeley, Colo.; four grandsons, David Andrew Taylor, Daniel Thomas Taylor, Phillip Michael Taylor and Matthew James Taylor, all of Greeley; a brother, Roy Headlee and wife, Grace, of Mustang, Okla.; three sisters, Sue Headlee of Borger, Judy Headlee of Perryton and Kay Headlee of Amarillo; two nieces; five nephews; and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
