Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St., with the Rev. Jerry Coffman officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Carlile was born May 6, 1927, in Azle to Hubert M. and Ruby Mae Brewer Carlile. Mel was a lifelong resident of the Texas Panhandle and grew up on the banks of Palo Duro Canyon in the Stone Community. He attended school in Canyon and also at Amarillo High School and Amarillo College. Mel joined the Navy in 1944 and was attached to fighting Squadron 65, then served aboard the USS Villa Gulf CVE 112 and was a plank owner aboard the USS Badoeng Strait CVE 116. He was recalled during the Korean conflict and served with Mobil Construction Battalion Two in the Aleutian Islands and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1475 in Amarillo. He served his country in the Navy. Mel worked in the motor freight carrier industry for 29 years, after which he bought and operated Leflar's Pancake House and then was owner and operator of the San Jacinto Recreation Club. He retired May 4, 1989, after working at Golden Light Equipment for six years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Marshall Allen Carlile and Stanley Wayne Carlile; and two sisters, Juanita Ward and Peggy Cates. Survivors include two sons, Steve Carlile of Fentress and Ted Harder of Elkhart, Kan.; four daughters, Cathy Smith of Decatur, Ala., and Crystal Irvin, Tanya Arnold and Delaine Wallace, all of Amarillo; a sister, Rosalie Hunter of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SaVion Deontae Mar'Quelyn Hall-Edwards SaVion Deontae Mar'Quelyn Hall-Edwards, infant son of Shalandria Hall and Damien Edwards of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 25, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Lee Simpson, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel in Brownfield. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Brownfield with the Rev. Gabriel Cardiel officiating. Burial will be in Brownfield Cemetery. Mr. Bustillos was born Aug. 13, 1957, to Pedro and Geneva Bustillos in Brownfield. He moved to Amarillo in 1998 and then to Dumas last year. Survivors include his wife, Yolanda; his mother of Meadow; his grandmother, Sirilda Davila of Brownfield; a son, John Ventura of Amarillo; two daughters, Jessica Cavazos of Meadow and Liana Bustillos of Lubbock; two brothers, George of Meadow and Pedro Jr. of Lubbock; a sister, Julie Bustillos of Meadow; and four grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lecrecia McMurry Heaton BORGER - Lecrecia McMurry Heaton, 77, died Friday, June 24, 2005, in Panhandle. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with Jake Minton officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Heaton was a native of Durant, Okla., and a Borger resident for 50 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Borger. She was a lover of music, nature and art. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard and Bill Savage. Survivors include a son, Todd McMurry and wife, Julie, of Borger; two daughters, Cindy Burns and husband, David, of Amarillo and Linda Cuzick and husband, Ron, of Dallas; two brothers, Douglas Savage and Ben Weibel, both of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren, Aaron Burns, Chad Burns and Vannie Cuzick, all of Amarillo, Court Pzivllzird and Michelle Harris, both of Dallas, and Logan McMurry, Marci McMurry, Ivy McMurry, Maggie McMurry and Nicole McMurry, all of Borger; and a great-granddaughter, Peyton Burns of Amarillo. Mr. Pyatt was born Oct. 22, 1927, in Estelline to Doyle and Bertie Lee Pyatt. He married Bonita "Boe" Snailum on Aug. 13, 1949. Mrs. Saiz was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Sunny Slope, Ark., to Domer V. and Susie Majors Birdsong. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn Saiz of Plainview; a granddaughter; two brothers, Robert Birdsong of Plainview and Sam Birdsong of Show Low, Ariz.; and a sister, Maryann Saiz of Fort Sumner, N.M. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Eicke was born May 8, 1922, in Snyder to Joe Eicke and Maggie Pearl Huckabee Eicke. He married Ann Sturdivant on Aug. 29, 1943, in Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a son, Ted Eicke of Hereford; two sisters, Trellice Perry and Daphna Hill, both of Snyder; and two grandchildren. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Chavez was born June 14, 1958, to George and Fulgencia Mondragon Chavez in Clovis. He was a trackman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. Survivors include his mother of Clovis; three brothers, Jesse Joe Chavez and Darrell J. Chavez, both of Roswell, and Michael Chavez of Clovis, and two sisters, Patricia Grudzien of Helena, Mont., and Dolores Urban of Clovis. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jessie "Junior" Parker CLOVIS, N.M. - Jessie "Junior" Parker, 56, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, in Gallup. Mr. Parker was born Sept. 22, 1948, to Jessie Parker Sr. and Rosie Lee Harris Parker in Clovis. He married Glenda on Oct. 25, 1980, in Clovis. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Myron Hampton, Tywayne Hampton and Jarreal Parker, all of Clovis; a daughter, Kizzy Hampton of Clovis; his father of Clovis; three brothers, Billy Ray Parker and Jerry Parker, both of Clovis, and Bobby Parker of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Mary Parker of Clovis; and five grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shigeo Fred Doi CLOVIS, N.M. - Shigeo Fred Doi, 90, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha, Neb., with the Rev. Anthony Paff officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Doi was born June 25, 1914, in Tacoma, Wash., to Kitaro and Shina Hiraishi Doi. He married Hide Nakanishi on Dec. 24, 1934, in Fowler, Calif. Survivors include two daughters, Chieri Gibbons of Clovis and Yachiye Abarbanell of Laurel Park, N.C.; a son, Richard Kinso Doi of St. Louis; a sister, Kiku Taniwa of Sanger, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Bertie Mae McLaren Fowler MONROE, LA. - Bertie Mae McLaren Fowler, 90, formerly of Brownfield, Texas, died Thursday, June 23, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Mount Zion Cemetery in Wheeling. Arrangements are by Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mrs. Fowler, the daughter of William E. and Lena McLaren, was born March 18, 1915, in Winn Parish, and died on June 23 in Monroe. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Monroe, Monroe Garden Club, Porcelain Arts Club and American Iris Society. Mrs. Fowler was very talented in cooking, sewing and china painting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rayford Fowler. Survivors include four children, Annette Nall and husband, Garry, of Amarillo, Texas, Sammie Saulsbury and husband, Olin, of Monroe, Sarah Bettinger and husband, Robert, of Lakewood, Colo., and John R. Fowler and wife, Kathie, of Aiken, S.C.; five grandchildren, Lori Fowler and William R. Fowler and wife, Michelle, all of Aiken, Julie Bettinger and husband, Jim Salzman, of Vancouver, B.C., Paul Bettinger and wife, Julie, of Westminster, Colo., and Joe Bettinger of Solana Beach, Calif.; three great-grandsons, Hunter and Kyle Fowler and Kiva Paul Salzman; and two sisters, Elvie "Tootsie" Tisdale of Shreveport and Mary Halterman of Springhill. Pallbearers will be Jack, Bill, Frank, DeWayne, Jim and Howard McLaren. Honorary pallbearers will be Oliver McLaren and Pete Fowler.
