Amarillo Globe-News http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ============================================================== Amarillo Globe-News Obituaries Saturday, July 2, 2005 Amarillo Earl Joseph Bussler Sr. Earl Joseph Bussler Sr., 98, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 30, 2005. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Bussler was born in Cashmere, Wash., on Sept. 21, 1906. He was a retired logger. Survivors include a son, Earl M. Bussler of La Center, Wash.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles I. "Charlie" Simpson Charles I. "Charlie" Simpson, 74, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 30, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Private family burial will be in Lockney Cemetery in Lockney. Mr. Simpson was born and raised in Lockney and was a graduate of Lockney High School. He married Mildred "Millie" Rodgers on Nov. 5, 1948, in Clovis, N.M. He lived in the Texas Panhandle most of his life, where he worked for Curry Motor Freight for many years. He was affiliated with First Baptist Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Tom Simpson in February; and a sister, Betty Emmitt in January. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Edie Simpson of Arlington; three sons, Rick Simpson and wife, Susan, of Plano, Zoe Simpson and wife, Pattie, of Kingwood and Jeff Simpson and wife, Roseanna, of Corinth; a sister, Iwana Monroe of Tulia; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106.
