Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Morrison Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Winfred Walker, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. Bransom was born June 11, 1937, in Springer, N.M. She had been a resident of Dumas for the past six years. She married Charlie Bransom on Jan. 26, 1975, in New Waverly. For 15 years she was employed by Dusty Trails Pilot Car Escort Service. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Eva Lyn Shatswell of Lubbock, Jo Ann Todd of LaPorte and Jeannie Raborn of Victoria; a son, Tom Richards of San Antonio; two sisters, Margie Woods of Wagon Mound, N.M., and Elaine Whitlow of Conway, Ark.; a brother, John Wesley Wood of Idaho; seven grandchildren, Misty, Bobbyjo, Sheryl, Andy, Mike, Robert and Amber; and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Calder was born March 29, 1940, in Brownwood. He married Freida Fairless on May 18, 1968, in Pampa. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Freida Helfer of Pampa, Jo Ann Lynam of Port Arthur and Tonya Calder of Fort Worth; a son, Paul Sloan of Woodville; three sisters, Vivian Morrell of Pampa, Wanda Martin of San Antonio and Correne Shields of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wayne Russell Mauck DUMAS - Wayne Russell Mauck, 79, died Saturday, July 2, 2005. Mr. Mauck was born June 11, 1926, in Scottsbluff, Neb. He was a resident of Dumas since 1973. He served in the Navy from 1943 to July 1947. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 33 years before retiring in 1985. He was married to his wife, Martha, for 55 years. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife; a son, Russell Mauck and wife, Kathy, of Dumas; and two grandchildren, Jeremy Mauck and Miranda Mauck, both of Dumas. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas. Miss Foster was born April 20, 1927, in Beaumont to Sam F. and Anna Mildred Foster. She attended elementary schools in Beaumont and graduated from high school in Waco. She attended The Art Institute in New York City for four years and then went to work for the Milton Bradley Company as an art consultant. She received her masterís degree from the University of Texas. She also studied sculpture. Miss Foster was the director of the Amarillo Public Schools Art Department at the time of her retirement. She had been active in Sweet Adelines, art studies group and Amarillo Senior Citizens. She was a member of First Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Zeta Epsilon Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Tri State Art Association, Amarillo Retired Teachers Association, Amarillo Fine Arts Association and Centennial Lions Club in Amarillo. Survivors include a brother, William Foster and wife, Dixie, of Kingwood; a niece, Lurie McAdow and husband, Lewis, of Houston; a nephew, William Foster and wife, Jana, of Mesquite; two great-nephews, Lewis McAdow IV of Houston and William Foster IV of Mesquite; and a great-niece, Kate Foster of Mesquite. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. John Benson, minister of Unity Church on the High Plains, officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Mr. Wilson was born in Gorman to James Wilson and Ora Octive Franklin. He worked with computers selling farm software and as a custom farmer. Mr. Wilson married Andrea Lee Michaels on Dec. 12, 1978, in Amarillo. He served in the Navy and Air Force as a pilot during World War II. He served with the United Way. He was a member of Ambucs and Toastmasters. Mr. Wilson was also a member of Unity Church on the High Plains. He started the first English Riding Club in Amarillo and gave many riding lessons to promote the English riding style. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul David Wilson in 1987; and a brother, Wesley Franklin in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Andrea; a son, James Harold Wilson of Los Angeles; a daughter, Jennifer Mayschak of Wasilla, Alaska; a brother, Elmo Franklin of Placerville, Calif.; a sister, Billie Tevebaugh of Lake Tanglewood; and three grandchildren, Devon, Kristen and Trevor Mayschak. Osage St., Amarillo, TX 79103; or the scholarship fund for Paul David Wilson at Amarillo College. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lavon Elinor Aaron Lavon Elinor Aaron, 86, formerly of Amarillo, of Midland, died Saturday, July 2, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Aaron, widow of William Travis Aaron and longtime resident of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday in Midland, where she had relocated in March 2000 with her husband. Travis preceded her in death on June 23, 2000. Lavon was born in Albion, Jackson County, Wis., on Sept. 18, 1918, to Lawrence Olson and Emma Peterson, where she spent her young formative years. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and went on to graduate, earning a bachelor of arts degree in 1940 in secondary education with majors in English and social studies and minors in French and speech. She further continued her education at both Texas Tech University and West Texas State. Her love of teaching, music and the arts compelled her to devote 20 wonderful and productive years of her life teaching, six years in Wisconsin and 14 years in Texas. Lavon married William Travis Aaron in Black River Falls, Wis., on Dec. 22, 1945, and moved to Big Spring in July 1946. She immediately applied to the Big Spring school system just as it was considering adding a vocal music department to its high school curriculum. She subsequently went on to form its first a cappella choir, girlsí choir and numerous other ensembles. Lavon was a dedicated volunteer of the arts, serving on the Amarillo Symphony Guild Board for several years. She was instrumental in compiling ìThe History of the Amarillo Symphony: Its First Fifty Years (1924-1974)î for the symphonyís golden anniversary. She helped develop both the Young Peopleís Concerts and the Kinder Concerts serving as year-round chairman to both. In 1969, she was appointed ways and means chairman and also co-chairman of ìAction Opus í70,î a society auction to raise money for the symphony, which set the course to becoming one of the richest symphonies in the country today. In 1969, she represented the Amarillo Symphony at the National Convention of Symphony Orchestras. In 1982, she proudly served as state membership chairman for the Texas Arts Alliance and went on to serve on its board of governors. Upon her now late husband Travisí retirement, they enjoyed a most memorable trip to Norway in 1984, of which she spoke often. Lavon's beautiful smile, her passion for life and the arts and kind word to all will be sorely missed, but forever in our hearts as she joins her late husband, Travis, in Godís peaceful sanctuary. Survivors include a sister, Verda L. Fisher of Eau Claire, Wis.; a nephew, Glen D. Aaron II of Midland and wife, Jane H. Hellinghausen; three great- nephews and a great-niece, Glen ìTreyî D. Aaron III of Houston, Glen ìCuatroî D.
