"Bill" Rehrer III Pamela Ashton Rehrer Bethany Grace Rehrer Amy Elizabeth Rehrer William H. "Bill" Rehrer III, 50, wife, Pamela Ashton, 50, and daughters, Bethany Grace, 22, and Amy Elizabeth, 19, all of Amarillo, died Friday, July 8, 2005, near Huntsville. Memorial services will be at10 a.m. Saturday in The Church at Quail Creek San Jacinto Baptist with Michael Pinkston, executive pastor, officiating. The Rehrers went home to be with their Lord quite unexpectedly Friday near Huntsville. Originally from New Jersey, the Rehrers lived in San Antonio for 22 years before moving a year ago to Amarillo, where Bill assumed the role of superintendent at San Jacinto Christian Academy. Bill also served as chairman of the Accreditation Commission of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) in Dallas. Bill's influence in Christian education was felt both nationally and internationally. His life was highlighted by many accomplishments in serving the Lord in music ministry. Pam Rehrer was a faithful volunteer at the school and was Bill's best friend and constant companion. Bethany was a senior at The Master's College in California, where she enjoyed serving the Lord as part of Majesty, a select music group that just recentlycompleted tours in Israel and Spain. Amy attended Amarillo College and loved teaching children, babysitting and serving in her church. She was on the staff in the children's ministry at The Church at Quail Creek. The Rehrers were most distinguished by their unusually close family life. In life together they glorified the Lordwith their lives andnowrejoice with Him in heaven. Countless students, parents and families have been touched by their servant hearts. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant(s)...enter into the joy of your Master." (Matthew 25:23) Survivors include Bill and Pam's son, Matthew and wife, Kara, of Houston; their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Rehrer Jr., of Sanford, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. George Ashton of Goshen, N.J.; Bill's three sisters; Pam's four sisters; and numerous nephews and nieces. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Boring was a loving woman who adored her family and friends. She enjoyed reading paperback novels. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Birdine was born in Lone Oak. She was formerly employed by Santa Fe Railway and First Baptist Church of Amarillo. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board, mission and as a former supervisor of the junior ushers. Survivors include two daughters, Doris Smith and husband, Paul, and Mattie Hughes; five granddaughters, Detris Jefferson, Debbie Pinkard and husband, Keith, Daneka Hughes, Dominique Hughes and Deidre Hughes, all of Amarillo; two grandsons, Darrin Hughes and Devon Hughes, both of Amarillo; eight great- grandsons, Trey, Tory, Tyre, Zachery, Teijon, Darrin, Trorece and Kemauri; two great-granddaughters, Shalyn and Marianna; a great-great-grandson, Dashawn; three sisters-in-law, Clara Pyles of Amarillo, and Willie Kay Nelson and Esther Love, both of Quanah; her favorite niece, Marva Matthews and husband, Don; and a special cousin, Lola Hardy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Roy J. "Luke" Conley Roy J. "Luke" Conley, 87, of Amarillo died Wednesday July 13, 2005. No services are planned. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Conley lived in Amarillo for 58 years. He retired from Leeway Motor Freight after 30 years. He was an Army veteran and served in the Pacific during World War II. He married Marquerite Boartz in 1955 in Clovis, N.M. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 20, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Diana Wardlaw and husband, Carmon, of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Loretta P. Cole Loretta P. Cole, 70, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 14, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Robert Field officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Cole was born and raised in Independence, Kan. She married James "Jim" David Cole in 1982 and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was a Wal-Mart associate for 10 years working at both the 45th and Tascosa Road locations. Loretta was a member of the Red Hat Society and a Methodist. She was a loving mother and grandma, and will be missed by all. She loved to shop. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Pilgrim of Amarillo; two sons, Donald R. Phillips and Ronald D. Phillips of Oregon; five sisters, Thelma Wilson and Shirley Erwin, both of Wichita, Kan., Retha Carter of Chanute, Kan., Lorene Mavers of Independence and Carolyn Sinclair of Yucaipa, Calif.; three brothers, Albert Jackson of Pinehurst, Idaho, Carl Jackson of Independence and Paul Jackson of Wichita; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wright was born June 27, 1957, in Amarillo to Jim and Betty Jo Wright. She graduated from Canyon High School and the University of North Texas in Denton. She was Miss Canyon in 1975 and later modeled in New York. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, was an interior designer and owned a boutique in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Knox was born Aug. 11, 1929, to Paul and Gladys Pitt in Claude. She graduated WT High in Canyon and then from Draughns Business College in Amarillo. She married Cloys Knox in 1947 in Canyon and they have been sweethearts for 58 years. She was a devoted employee of Amarillo National Bank for 35 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy Pitt and Merle Pitt. Mrs. Davidson was born Jan. 21, 1918, in Amarillo. She and George Eldon Davidson were married on Dec. 23, 1933, in Altus, Okla. Mrs. Carbajal was born March 10, 1934, in San Luiz, Potosi, Mexico. She was a homemaker. She had been a Dumas resident since 1959. She was a member of Templo Elim Asambleas de Dios of Dumas. She married the Rev. Esteban Carbajal on Feb. 10, 1949, in Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 4, 2003. Survivors include eight sons, Roy, Steve, Frank, Pablo, Isaac and Sammy Carbajal, all of Dumas, Saul Carbajal of Raymondville and David Carbajal of Midland; five daughters, Maria Flores, Martha Kiskaden, Ruth Beltran and Becky Romero, all of Dumas, and Dina Gallegos of Wichita Falls; a sister, Francisca Torres of Mexico; a brother, Cresenciano Torres of Mexico; 45 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Farney, former pastor, officiating. Her granddaughter, Jayme Greenfield, will be the speaker. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. McMahen was born Sept. 21, 1912, in Mobeetie. She had lived in Stratford since 1946. She married H.L. "Curley" McMahen in Stratford on Oct. 4, 1931. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stratford. She was a beautician in Stratford for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 15, 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Marty Bain of Stratford and Jeanette Gillis and husband, Elwood, of Lamar, Colo.; a sister, Laura Maye Causey of Amarillo; five granddaughters, Lynda B. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors of Hereford. Mr. Tannahill was born Nov. 25, 1944, in Plainview to G.E. Tannahill and Leta Morrison Tannahill. He grew up and attended schools in Lockney and graduated from Friona High School in 1963. He moved to Friona in 1961 from Lockney. He was in the Army, serving with the Screaming Eagles 101st Airborne Division. He was self-employed, owning Shortgrass Inc., Tannahill Farms and Tannahill Auction. He served as a Parmer County Commissioner, former Lions Club member and assisted with Friona 4-H and FFA showings. He was a member of Friona United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his companion, Cheryl Langlinais; a daughter, Lory Barker of Plano; a son, John Mark Tannahill of Arlington; two stepdaughters, Brandy Langowski of Fort Lee, Va., and Cheraye Rubio of Friona; a stepson, Nathan Spence of Ramona, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth Tannahill of Keller; a brother, Eugene Tannahill of Lockney; and seven stepgrandchildren. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Walraven was born Nov. 28, 1915, in Hamilton County to James Andrew and Etta Mae Lawrence Rhoades. She married Marshall Knox Walraven on Sept. 18, 1937, in Cleburne. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 1980. She lived in Shamrock for 60 years and served on the Ladies Auxiliary at the Shamrock Hospital in every capacity. She served on the board of the Shamrock Museum and Care Inn of Shamrock. She was a member of First Baptist church, taught the 2-year-old Sunday school class and was the head of the grievance committee for funeral lunches. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include four daughters, Glendene McKinley, Wanda Tipping and Karen Riley, all of Amarillo, and Gayle Johnson of Lufkin; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Stiles, pastor of Allison Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Smith was born to James Lewis and Mabel Lillian Smith in Wheeler on June 24, 1922. Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of Wheeler. He joined the Navy in September 1942 and was discharged in December 1963. He retired after 20 years of serving his country with the rank of E-7. Mr. Smith also did commercial air conditioning and refrigeration following his service time. On March 15, 1985, he married Priscilla “Pat” Griggs in Pampa. Mr. Smith was a member of American Legion and Fleet Reserve. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Jane Smith on Sept. 28, 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Dory J. Hughes of Amarillo; a stepson, Scott Tidmore of Erick, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Aimee Dillon Thompson of Paris and Katy Carter of Uvalde; a brother, R.J. Smith of Wheeler; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott in 1991 and his mother, Lola Middleton in October 2004. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Arvada; a son, Eric and wife, Becky, of Broomfield; and a sister, JoAnn Bulls of Earth, Texas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Francis Lambert Williams KERRVILLE - Francis Lambert Williams, 88, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005. A church ice cream social will be arranged in August. Arrangements are by Grimes Funeral Chapels. Mrs. Francis was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Fort Worth. She worked as a secretary before marriage and has been a church librarian for 54 years. Starting at First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi for 20 years, she established and built a fine library. After seven years at First Baptist Church of Amarillo, she concluded with 27 years of faithful service by building a very successful library at Trinity Baptist Church of Kerrville. Francis, lifetime learner and inveterate reader, acted as adviser to other librarians in Kerrville, offered individual help to all who passed through the library doors and left a formidable foundation on which her successors will continue to build. Noted for her wry and quirky sense of humor and attention to detail, she performed library service as a dedication to her Lord and Savior and now tends God’s heavenly library. Francis has been a faithful and loving wife, lacking one month of being married 65 years. Survivors include her husband, Everett L.; a son, Everett L. “Rett” Williams II; a daughter, Jo Carole McCulley and husband, Robert; a sister, Betty Jo Cotton and husband, James Russell, of Midland and their children; and two granddaughters, Megan Williams of Florida and Stacia Williams and husband, Liam O’brien, of New Jersey.
