Hearn Ethel L. Hearn, 79, of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Robert Field, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Hearn was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Bakersfield, Calif. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hearn Sr. in 1980; and her mother, Emma Heck in 1978. Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Bruffy and husband, Carl, and Nancy Lee Coursey, all of Atlanta, Ga., and Vicki Blankenship and husband, Don, of Amarillo; two sons, James L. Hearn Jr. and Terry Hearn, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Scott Hargrove and wife, Kathy, Lauri Hall and husband, Dale, and Zach Gormley, all of Atlanta, and Deanna Blankenship and Danny Blankenship and wife, Kodi, all of Amarillo; a great-grandchild, Emma Hall of Atlanta; and a sister, Eloise McCollum of Minnesota. The family will be at 2910 S. Vernon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thelma L. Fox Thelma L. Fox, 82, of Amarillo died Monday, July 17, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Higgins Cemetery in Higgins with Travis Evans of Christian Heritage Church officiating. Arrangements are by Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Fox was born in Hutchinson, Kan., and moved to this area in 1961. She was a waitress in Borger and Fritch and retired in Amarillo. She loved children. Survivors include her husband, Ray; a daughter, Naomi Hobbs of Amarillo; a stepson, James Roy Hobbs of Covington, Ga.; three stepdaughters, Sherry and Sheila, both of Farmington, N.M., and Shirly of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Orville O. Fick of Wichita, Kan., and Robert Fick of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dorothy L. Johnson Dorothy L. Johnson, 84, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 17, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. James M. Mims, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Johnson was born May 1, 1921, to the late Van and Adell Grate in Falls County. She married the late Richard A. Johnson and moved to Amarillo in 1941. She was a faithful and dedicated member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gloria Johnson Walker of Amarillo and Mrs. Debra Johnson Robinson of Greenville, S.C.; two brothers, Mr. Clifford Grate of Los Angeles and Mr. Arthur Grate of Denver; and three grandchildren, Rodney Walker of Sacramento, Calif., Collette Walker of Carrollton and Christa Walker of Amarillo. The body will be available for viewing from 1 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Archer Jr., 60, of Amarillo died Monday, July 18, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Fort Sill National Cemetery in Lawton, Okla. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Archer was born and raised in Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Lawton High School. He served in the Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Yvonne Wilson in 1986 in California. He lived most of his life in Lawton and was a truck driver for CRST for more than 10 years. He worked for the Officers' Club at Fort Sill. He moved to Amarillo in March. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Johnathan Archer of Fletcher, Okla., and Timothy Wade Wilson of Amarillo; and a brother, Gene Williams of Austin. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lola Eva Jenkins Lola Eva Jenkins, 76, of Amarillo died Monday, July 18, 2005. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Jubilee Apostolic Church with Royce Elms, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. (MDT) in Tucumcari Memorial Cemetery in Tucumcari, N.M., by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ carried Lola Home to Heaven. Lola was born Aug. 14, 1928, in Arlington and graduated from Quay County High school. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Jenkins; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Martin; and her siblings, Russell, W.H. and Garland Chaddick. Survivors include three sons, Tommy of Titusville, Fla., Garrett of Amarillo and Richard of Albuquerque, N.M.; six grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Kristie, Joshua, Jason and Jim; a great-grandchild, Parker; and numerous aunts, nephews, nieces and other relatives. Jay Lewis, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Williams was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Beachton, Okla. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Bawcom was born June 26, 1917, in Gould, Okla., to N.C. Tennison and Margaret Hopper Tennison. She married Eugene Bawcom on Sept. 25, 1934, in Wellington. Survivors include three sons, Edward Bawcom of Amarillo, Leon Bawcom of College Station and Leamon Bawcom of Wellington; a daughter, Patsy Dodge of Lebanon, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Stevens-Davis WAYSIDE - Beatrice V. Stevens-Davis, 82, of San Antonio, formerly of Wayside, died Monday, July 18, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Wayside Cemetery with the Rev. Byron Williamson officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Stevens-Davis was born in Panhandle on Sept. 27, 1922, to Arrie Lee Stevens and Fannie Kibler Stevens. She lived in Wayside until she married and moved away, but she always considered the "farm" home. Survivors include a son, Warren Lee Davis and wife, Linda, of San Antonio; a daughter, Deanna Sue Odvody and husband, Dale, of Marion; five grandchildren, Sandee Morgan and husband, Carl, and Christi Davis, all of San Antonio, Carol D'Alessandro and Bryan Davis and wife, Kristi, all of Universal City, and Lisa Cline of New York City. Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. today in Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Juan C. Barragan officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 15, 1955, in Cherry Point, N.C., to Mrs. Carolyn Maddox Campbell and the late Mr. Robert Mason Campbell. He attended grammar schools in Orange, Calif., and Fall Brook, Calif., and was a 1974 graduate of Canadian High School, where he broke the CHS pole vault record his senior year. He then attended one year at Palamar Junior College in Palamar, Calif. He moved to Canadian in 1971 from Fall Brook. He married Cathy Lopez on June 19, 1976, in Canadian. Scott was known throughout the Texas Panhandle for his gifted musical talent. He put his talents to use by volunteering for various events in the community and surrounding areas, playing in many bands, with the latter being the Prairie River Musicals. He was an entertainer who loved to see a smiling, hand clapping, toe tapping audience. His audiences ranged from the very young to the elderly at the Edward Abraham Memorial Home. Scott also enjoyed playing his guitar during Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a member. He was a church youth director, taught religious classes for high school students and was a member of Knights of Columbus. In 1980, he began to operate his own lawn business, turning a small business into a tree trimming and spraying service, where he was known for managing the beautiful lawns in and around Canadian. He also volunteered his lawn service skills to the church and the community. He was very proud to be a resident of Canadian, always promoting his hometown wherever he went. His hobbies included golf, camping, watching football, spending time with his family, jamming with his guitar, going to Las Vegas with his buddies and taking the kids to the park to feed the ducks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Irene Maddox; his father-in-law, Y.C. Lopez; and a brother-in- law, David Kirby. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Campbell of Canadian; a daughter, Christie Spence and husband, Jeremy, of Canadian; his mother of Canadian; a brother, Steve Campbell of Elk City, Okla.; a sister, Lori Tye and husband, Tom, of Wimberly; and two grandchildren, Cade Campbell of Tulsa, Okla., and Madelyne Spence of Canadian. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point average from Memorial High School in Tulsa. She was a graduate of Community Care College in Tulsa and attended Destiny Church in Broken Arrow. Survivors include her parents, Donna Bailey of Tulsa and the Rev. and Mrs. B.F. Roberts Jr. of Amarillo; four sisters, Mrs. Gloria Gray and husband, Donald, of Lubbock, LaToya and Laterra Roberts, both of Amarillo, and Shemetta Williams of San Fernando, Calif.; two brothers, Michael Davis of Tulsa and Chris Lamon Roberts of Houston; her grandmother, Mrs. Jennie Johnson of Tulsa; a stepsister, Julie Tudman of Amarillo; two stepbrothers, the Rev. Mrs. Ellison was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Vermont, Ill. She married Henry "Hank" Ellison on June 22, 1931, in Vermont. Survivors include a daughter, Ann Boyd of Boise City; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
