Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Budd was born in Liberty Hill to John H. and Elsie Vaughan. She graduated from Amarillo High and attended Amarillo College. She married Wilbur Q. Budd. Mrs. Budd was a homemaker. As a child, she had a pet bear named Molly and always kept a special place in her heart for Molly throughout the years. Each of her pets were very special to her. Mrs. Budd enjoyed working in her yard and took pride in its appearance. Mrs. Budd loved to visit, and she always welcomed her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Jo Ella Lee; two brothers, Roy and Fred Vaughan; two nephews, John Vaughan and Lloyd Budd; and brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. R.G. Budd. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Betty Scott and husband, James, of Austin; two nieces, Jo Ann Chappel and husband, Fred, of Austin and Suzy O’Rear and husband, Curtis, of Amarillo; and five nephews, Cliff Budd and wife, Brenda, Robert Budd Jr. and wife, Lynette, and Tommy Budd, all of Amarillo, David Scott and wife, Michelle, of Austin and Mark Vaughan of Dallas. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church Chapel with the Rev. Bob Schroeder officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Hill was born in Fort Worth to Manson Redmond and Della Howard Redmond. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was the former owner of Cochran’s Orthopedic Shoe Store. She married O.G. Hill Jr. 22 years ago in Amarillo. Mrs. Hill was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She did volunteer work for the Senior Citizens Center in Hereford and also volunteered at a hospital in Amarillo. O.G. and Frances loved to go dancing. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Leatha Strickland of Amarillo and Janell Gossett of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Charles Henry Redmond of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Miss Kral was born in Uniontown, Pa., on April 21, 1904, to Thomas and Anna Kral. She attended McMurry College and graduated from Texas Tech University and later from the University of Kansas with degrees in home economics, science and education. In addition to her love of teaching, Miss Kral was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice. She took part in many programs, choral groups and operettas. Miss Kral was frequently asked to head community projects and was a member of the American University Women, Treble Cleff Club, the Pilot Club in Amarillo and served as president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club. She taught school for many years, beginning at Roby High School, then retiring from the Pampa Independent School District in 1965, where she was head of the home economics department. After her retirement she moved to Amarillo. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Kral and Margaret Baumgardner, and four brothers, her twin brother, Edward Kral, and Thomas Kral Jr., Benjamin F. Kral and Theodore Kral. Survivors include three sisters, Irene Madden of Amarillo, Anne Hastings of Owasso, Okla., and Marie McCain of Early; a brother, Robert Kral of Corsicanna; and many wonderful, loving nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Gary Brown officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Stapleton was born and raised in Amarillo. She married Ray Stapleton on Dec. 11, 1954, in Amarillo. She lived in Morristown, Tenn., for 14 years and returned to Amarillo in 2000. She was a Baptist. She enjoyed sewing and doing crafts and loved being “Bambaw” to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Ramona McKinley of Amarillo and Wanonia Dollins of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, Wanda Carlock of Amarillo; a one brother, Gary Brown and wife, Julia, of Harrisburg, Ark.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frances Erion Taylor Frances Erion Taylor, 68, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 21, 2005. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in First Presbyterian Church with Bo Blakey, pastor of Angel Fire Baptist Church, and Dr. Jim Bankhead officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Taylor of Amarillo left us to meet her Lord on July 21 at the age of 68. Fran was born Oct. 1, 1936, in Hobart, Okla., and moved with her parents to Miami, Okla., where she met and married Rutherford T. Taylor. She and Rudy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002. Rudy and Fran moved to Amarillo in 1961, where Fran raised their five children, and Rudy pursued an engineering career at Pantex. Fran managed several departments at Sakowitz Department Store and owned a pottery/coffee shop on Sixth Street. During their 34 years in Amarillo, they met and cherished many friends that remain dear to them today. Upon retirement, Fran and Rudy fulfilled a lifelong dream of residing in the beautiful resort community of Angel Fire, N.M. There they enjoyed fishing, skiing, hiking, golfing and forming new friendships with the people of this small village. Fran and Rudy were forced to leave Angel Fire due to Fran’s illness and returned to Amarillo, where she received excellent care through BSA Hospice. Through her devoted belief in Jesus Christ, Fran continued to touch and influence the lives of her many close friends, her family and those who cared for her. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated and loving staff of BSA Hospice and suggest that memorials be made to that organization so that they can continue to assist other families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Louise Erion. Mr. Bramlette was born Oct. 30, 1948, in Tolleson, W.Va. Ed was a truck driver for Baldwin Distribution Co. for 18 years. He lived in Amarillo for 25 years. Ed was a very happy man, who enjoyed life and loved working on his computer. He loved music and movies and loved his family very much. Survivors include his wife, Kaye; a son, Jason Bramlette and wife, Mary, of Phoenix; two daughters, Sharon Bramlette of Amarillo and Laura Adams of Piqua, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Pereida and Christi Hollabaugh, both of Amarillo; a brother, Charles Bramlette of Piqua; a sister, Barbara Richard of Houston, Ohio; and 12 grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Corrinne Roberson Corrinne Roberson, 95, of Amarillo died Wednesday, July 20, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with her son, Jay Roberson of Tascosa Road Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Roberson was born April 18, 1910, in China Spring. She moved to Amarillo in 1926 where she met Howard Roberson where they worked at the Fox Drugstore. She married Howard on Nov. 28, 1928, in Henrietta. She and Howard worked in a tailor shop until he went to work for a new radio station, KFDA. Corrinne had the opportunity to meet many radio personalities over the years, and she felt the most impressive person she met was Paul Harvey. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1928, except for 1954 to 1956, when the family was living in Fort Worth and from 1963 to 1966, when they lived in Monte Vista, Colo. Corrinne was active in church activities working with children’s classes. She supported her sons in school activities and was active in the PTA of schools her sons attended. She enjoyed oil painting, playing bridge with friends and beginning each day with the crossword puzzle. Survivors include two sons, Alan Roberson and wife, Sandra J., and Jay Roberson and wife, Helen; four grandchildren, Pat Roberson, Courtney Johnson and husband, Stuart, Paul Roberson and wife, Susan, and Phil Roberson; and six great-grandchildren. Interstate 40, in Amarillo. Mrs. Bible was born July 16, 1928, to Harvey Clifton Smith and Nora Jane Scott Smith. She married Walter Earnest Bible in McLean on July 10, 1948. Mrs. Bible was a retired schoolteacher who taught elementary and special education classes. She was preceded in death by her husband in January 1991; a daughter, Lanora Kay Bible in 1955; a son, George Walter Bible in 1959; and a granddaughter, Heather Danielle Bible in 1990. Survivors include a son, Tom Bible and wife, Misty, of Fritch; two daughters, Nancy Ann Weatherly and Carla Sue Bible, both of Fritch; a brother, John Smith of Del Rio; and a granddaughter, Savana Bible of Fritch. Birkenfeld, 81, died Thursday, July 21, 2005. A scripture service will be at 6:30 p.m. today in Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Birkenfeld was born Jan. 28, 1924, in Nazareth to Joe and Blanche Wagner Birkenfeld. He graduated from Nazareth High School in 1941. He served in the Navy from December 1943 to April 1946. He married Marilyn Hoelting on Feb. 14, 1950, in Nazareth and farmed and ranched in that area as well as Union and San Miguel counties in New Mexico. He operated Birkenfeld Trucks, a livestock transportation business, and played fiddle in the Melody Six band. He served on the board of directors of Happy State Bank for 14 years. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he was a eucharistic minister and a member of the church choir. He was a member of American Legion and Lions Club and was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters. He was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Harry, and three other brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Darlene Schulte of Nazareth, Karen Peddy and Gail Hooks, both of Canyon, and Shana Hutchins of College Station; eight sons, Kent of Canyon, Keith, Bob, Clyde, Darryl, Greg and Alan, all of Nazareth, and Joel of San Antonio; a brother, Jerome of Nazareth; two sisters, Velma Warren of Hereford and Rita Woetovech of Nazareth; 21 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of First United Methodist Church of McLean, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Thompson was born June 25, 1916, in Van Alstyne and moved with her parents to Pampa in 1922. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1933 and attended Texas Women’s College (now Texas Wesleyan) in Fort Worth. She married Fred Thompson on Sept. 25, 1937, at First Baptist Church in Pampa. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the B & PW Sunday School Class. She held numerous jobs during her working life, which included legal secretary for the Gordon and Gordon law firm, receptionist/secretary for Cabot Corporation, secretary/office manager for the Pampa Chamber of Commerce and personal secretary to M.K. Brown. In addition to serving as M.K. Brown’s personal secretary, she helped him bring to fruition his vision of a museum for the community. She served as curator for the White Deer Land Museum for 26 years, retiring in 1990. She also served in many volunteer capacities in the community. Among them were chairman of the Gray County Historical Committee, board member of the Friends of the Library, chairman of the Gray County Bicentennial Committee, member of the local Red Cross board, member of the Pampa Community Concert Association, the Pampa Fine Arts Association and the Pampa Knife & Fork Club. She was a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi and was honored as their Woman of the Year in 1976. She was also honored by the Amarillo Globe-News as Woman of the Year in 1977 and received the Distinguished Service Award from West Texas State University in 1978. She was also preceded in death by her parents, John V. and Tina Lee McCallister, and a sister, Waldean McCallister. Mrs. Davis, longtime Hereford resident, passed away Saturday, July 23 at Westgate Nursing Center of the Kings Manor Methodist Retirement Home in Hereford. Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Shelby County, the daughter of Stephen and Cecil Pearce. She attended Texas Women’s University at Denton in 1944 to 1945 and married William L. “Bill” Davis on April 6, 1946, in Bryan. Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved to Hereford after their wedding, where she worked as the bookkeeper for Davis Implement Co. for many years. Mrs. Davis was a member of First United Methodist Church, worked in the church office for several years, served on many church committees and in the early 1970s, worked extensively with the Methodist Youth Department. Mrs. Davis was a Camp Fire Leader in the 1960s, a past president and member of the Bay View Study Club and co-owner of “The Vogue” in Hereford for many years. She was a chairperson of the Kings Manor Methodist Retirement Home Ladies Auxiliary for several years and volunteered in many ways for the Hereford community. Mrs. Davis also loved playing bridge with her many friends. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mayburn and Ella Mae Putman Trout; a brother, Kenneth Trout; and a sister, Elaine Auldridge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mr. Speed was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Detroit. His parents were Joe E. Speed and Pauline McAdoo Speed of Adrian. He was a member of Cowboy Ministry Church of Vega. Bobby grew up in Adrian and lived there and in Vega all of his life. He graduated from Adrian High in 1941. He loved fishing, flying, hunting, arrowheads, laughing, dancing, Golden Gloves Boxing and listening to the sandhill cranes flying over each year. He served during World War II in France and Germany and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery. He was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of their children, Frances LaVerne Speed; his parents; and infant twin sisters. Survivors include a son, Dude Speed and wife, Bunny, of Midland, their son, Brent Speed, serving with the Texas National Guard in Iraq; and another son, Brandon “Bo” Speed and wife, Maggie, their daughter, Leah, of Odessa. She was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lloyd Sharp; and her husband, T.O. “Bud” Sharp.
