Amarillo Globe-News http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ============================================================== Amarillo Globe-News Obituaries Monday, July 25, 2005 Amarillo William Robert "Bill" Reville William Robert "Bill" Reville, 79, formerly of Amarillo died Thursday, July 21, 2005, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Marty Hamrick, associate minister at Polk Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mr. Reville, a longtime Amarillo resident, died Thursday, July 21, in Scottsdale, where he had lived since 2001. Mr. Reville was born April 14, 1926, in Amarillo. He worked in sales and leasing for Plains Chevrolet for more than 20 years. He also served as vice president and managing partner of Hertz Rent-a-Car. He purchased Amarillo Imports in 1979 and operated it for several years. He was a World War II veteran. He loved staying active, and he loved life, always living it to the fullest. He was deeply loved by many and will be missed by all. We take comfort in knowing he is now in a better place, out of pain, and at peace. He positively touched the lives of anyone he met. Survivors include two daughters, Stacie Ann Fallek and husband, Scott, of Scottsdale and Michelle Renee Reville of Amarillo; and a granddaughter, Hailey Reville of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lucille Bloxom Lucille Bloxom, 87, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 23, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis with the Rev. Tom Posey officiating. Arrangements by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Bloxom was born Aug. 1, 1917, to John and Ada Evans in Memphis. She was one of eight children and enjoyed a happy childhood living on a farm. She married Albert Lee Bloxom on Oct. 2, 1932. Mrs. Bloxom was a homemaker and an LVN, working at Northwest Texas Hospital in labor and delivery for almost 30 years. She was very creative in crafts, hand quilting, gardening and writing short stories about her family's life that were published. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 23, 1998; a daughter, Joyce Ray in 1981; a son, Albert Lee Bloxom in 1951; her parents; five brothers; and a sister. Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Shoemaker and Carol Bremer, both of Amarillo; a sister, May Maddox of Memphis; 10 grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Linda "Me-Me" Sue Holt Linda "Me-Me" Sue Holt, 57, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 23, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Central Baptist Church with Jon Watson, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Holt was born May 31, 1948, to Clyde Loring Filler and Betty Elizabeth McGlaughlin Filler in Monmouth, Ill. Linda married John R. Holt in Dumas on Dec. 21, 1964. They have resided in Amarillo since 1971. They attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was the proprietor of her own business for many years and was employed by The Dunlap's Co. in Amarillo as personnel director for a period of 10 years. She had many friends far too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her father in 1992; a brother, Gary Filler in 2002; and a grandson, Trevor Josiah Watson in 2004. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Tracy Watson and husband, Jon, of Amarillo and Terri Brack and husband, Bret, and Sherri Snider and husband, Gary, all of Fritch; her mother of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice or the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Raymond D. Horton Sr. WELLINGTON - Raymond D. Horton Sr., 85, died Friday, July 22, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Kevin Everett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Horton was born Nov. 6, 1919, in the Lillie Community of Collingsworth County to W.M. Horton and Susie Burrow Horton. He married Faye Bullington on March 9, 1946, in Wellington. Survivors include a son, Raymond D. Horton Jr. of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Tanya Embry of Muleshoe; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Wellington Meals on Wheels, in care of Adams Funeral Home, 1300 East Avenue, Wellington, TX 79095. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elizabeth Judith Lopez HEREFORD - Elizabeth Judith Lopez, infant daughter of Miguel Angel Lopez and Irene Vasquez Lopez, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery with the Rev. John Valdez of St. Anthony's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors. Elizabeth was born in Amarillo to Miguel Angel Lopez and Irene Vasquez Lopez. She was a member of La Iglesia Catholic Church. Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Diana Lopez and Christina Lopez, both of Hereford; a brother, Miguel Angel Lopez Jr. of Hereford; her grandparents, Pedro and Maria Anita Vasquez of Hereford and Jose Luis and Maria del Carmen Lopez of Mexico; and her great-grandmothers, Maria Garcia of Hereford and Maria de la Luz Vasquez of Mexico. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Pearl McCracken FORT COLLINS, COLO. - Pearl McCracken, 95, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died Thursday, July 21, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Carey Skinner, minister at Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, Amarillo. Mrs. McCracken was born in Oklahoma to Charles Hulet Sullivan and Martha Brimmer Sullivan. She married Arthur I. McCracken in 1929 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1978. Mrs. McCracken was a longtime Amarillo resident and had moved to Fort Collins two years ago. She was a homemaker. Mrs. McCracken was a good neighbor, mother and grandmother. Survivors include a daughter, Martha Edwards of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; two sons, Mike McCracken of Fort Collins and John McCracken of Florida; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joe Arthur Garcia Jr. CARROLLTON - Joe Arthur Garcia Jr., 43, formerly of Dimmitt, died Thursday, July 21, 2005. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel in Dimmitt. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt with the Rev. Ken Keller officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Memorial Park in Dimmitt. Mr. Garcia was born Aug. 6, 1961, in Dimmitt. He was raised in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1981. Survivors include his parents, Jose and Maria Garcia of Dimmitt; a son, Joe Arthur Garcia III of Canyon; a daughter, Michelle Villa of Carrollton; three brothers, Moses Garcia of Amarillo, Santos Jesus Garcia of Justin and Ramon Garcia of Marble Falls; two sisters, Delia Porter of Galax, Va., and Mary Lucy Correa of Plainview; and three grandchildren. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
