Norwood Jr. Tracy B. Norwood Jr., 81, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery with military rites by DAV Chapter 26. Mr. Norwood was born July 12, 1924, in Collinston, La., to Tracy B. Norwood Sr. and Mattie Lee Harper Norwood. He graduated from Nashville High School in Nashville, Ark. After graduation, he joined the Navy in June 1943 and served on the USS Richmond in the Pacific Theater. He married Mary Catherine Dotson on Dec. 4, 1945. Mr. Norwood received his bachelor's degree from Arkansas Tech University, his master's degree from George Peabody College at Nashville, Tenn., and his doctoral degree from the University of Tulsa. He served as head football coach at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., from 1962 to 1974, retiring at that time. Mr. Norwood was inducted into the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame and Northeastern Redmen Hall of Fame. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tracy B. Norwood III and wife, Amy Knoll, of Cleburne; three grandsons, James Tracy Norwood, Taylor Charles Norwood and Wiley Robert Norwood; and countless other young men who he loved as much as his son and grandsons. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Jim Fox, spiritual care at VistaCare Hospice, officiating. Mrs. Dreasher was born March 12, 1932, in McAllen. She married Max Dreasher on Sept. 1, 1950. They moved to Amarillo in 1957. She owned and operated Arts N Crafts By Betty for more than 25 years. She also taught painting at Amarillo College for more than five years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank VistaCare Hospice for their excellent care. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tina Wright and husband, Bruce, of Amarillo; three sons, Max Dreasher Jr. and wife, Jan, of Shallowater, Matt Dreasher and wife, Jo, of Austin and Darrell Dreasher and wife, Beth, of Amarillo; a brother, Clyde Miller of Corpus Christi; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Southeast Baptist Church with Dallas Stringer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Ms. Trimble was born March 25, 1934, in Artesia, N.M., to James and Lavora Mayden. She was raised in Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, but did occasionally work outside the home as a chef. Cooking was her passion. She cooked for Polk Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and painting. In the past few years she became computer savy, e-mailing friends, family and researching genealogy. She was very knowledgeable and could have succeeded at anything. She was sweet. Survivors include a daughter, Carmen Trimble Keesee and husband, Scott, of Amarillo; two sons, David Allen Trimble and wife, Elaine, and Dallas Lee Trimble, all of Amarillo; a sister, Judy Hiner of San Diego; two brothers, Sterling Mayden of Los Angeles and Don Mayden of Blackwell, Okla.; numerous nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren, Jerod, Joshua, and Whitney Keesee and David and Jeffery Trimble. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruth White Ruth White, 79, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 31, 2005. Mrs. White was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Greenbrier, W.Va., to John and Winnie Morfield. She was a longtime resident of Amarillo. Survivors include several close friends. Mr. Hale was born March 23, 1967, in Pampa, and attended Pampa schools. He was a carpenter, working for several construction companies in Amarillo for the past 15 years. Survivors include a sister, Schaunda Green of Pampa; two brothers, J.C. Branscum of Amarillo and Jimmy Fitzer of Pampa; and his grandparents, Darrell and Mary Marsh and Hattie Branscum, all of Pampa. Georgia St. Mr. Proffitt was born Dec. 16, 1949, in Borger. He married Wilma Stone on Dec. 30, 2002. Mr. Proffitt retired from the auto mechanic business. He loved Mustang SVOs, raising tropical fish and he enjoyed reading. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Proffitt; and his parents. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Priscilla Linker and Heather Locke, both of Amarillo; and two granddaughters, Kaylee Linker and Holly Linker. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- David "DJ" Junell David "DJ" Junell, 24, of Amarillo died Sunday, July 31, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with the Rev. Robert E. Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Mr. Junell was born in Amarillo and had lived here most of his life. He loved working on cars and racing. At the time of his death he was employed in the maintenance department of Tyson Foods Inc. "The Dean," as he was known to may of his friends, will be dearly missed. Mrs. Wray was born June 7, 1927, to Charlie and Willie Mae Gunter in Okmulgee, Okla. She spent most of her childhood in and around Santa Fe, N.M. She then moved back to Oklahoma, where she did extensive work for the Girl Scout Council. Later, she owned a dress shop and she enjoyed painting. She then moved to Texas in 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Jack D. Wray; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include three daughters, Lynne Cameron of Wagoner, Okla., Vikki Jett of Amarillo and Sue Eddy of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Dorman Gunter; a sister, Averil Penny; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Michael Shane Pugh MULESHOE - Michael Shane Pugh, 41, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005. He loved to fish, he loved music and he loved children. Survivors include his father, Michael E. Mr. Donnell was born July 19, 1964, in Dimmitt. He worked in the auto industry for most of his career. Mrs. Powell was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Liberal, Kan., and was a lifetime resident of the Perryton area. She graduated from Hardesty High School. She married Jesse Vance Powell on Oct. 5, 1940, in Guymon, Okla. She retired from North Plains Electric Co-op in 1982. She was a devoted Pink Lady with Ochiltree Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of First Baptist Church of Perryton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Phelps Cagle; and a brother, Elmer Joe Cagle. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jim Powell and wife, Cynthia, of Perryton and Mike Powell and wife, Susie, of Dallas; a brother, Charles Cagle of Perrytojn; two sisters, Isabell Mote of Los Obos, Calif., and Naomi Koerner of San Diego; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Wilson on Sept. 12, 1954, in Ropesville. Survivors include a son, Lonnie Wilson of Springlake; two daughters, Deborah Wall of Granbury and Daneen Travis of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Joe Epperson of Rockwall and Johnny Keith Epperson of Hobbs, N.M.; and a sister, Wanda Jean Collins of Burnett. She was a field office manager for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission since 1990 in Bryan.
