"Billie" Brandon Dicey L. "Billie" Brandon, 89, of Amarillo died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Perry Hunsaker of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Brandon was born April 11, 1916, in Lawrence County, Mo. She lived in St. Joseph, Mo., for more than 60 years where she worked at St. Joseph's Sheltered Workshop, a part of Goodwill. She moved to Amarillo 10 years ago. Mrs. Brandon loved music and played several instruments in several churches. She also volunteered at BSA Hospice. She was a Baptist. She married Lorenzo Brandon in 1985. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by three sons. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Bell and husband, Dick, and Leota Thurman, all of Amarillo, and 15 grandchildren. The family will be at 204 Arch Terrace. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Weiss Charles Weiss, 69, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Weiss was born in Amarillo and lived here most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the Army. He worked in sales for many years and also drove a taxi for several years. Mr. Weiss was an avid bowler and was involved in league bowling in Amarillo for more than 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Weiss and Pauline Bryant, and a brother, Bobby Weiss. Survivors include a daughter, Terry Hosler of Amarillo; two sons, Rick Weiss and Chris Weiss, both Amarillo; two grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson and Cody Hosler, both of Amarillo; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Wilson and Breauna Wilson, both of Amarillo; his companion of many years, Ernestine Costley of Amarillo; a brother, Carl Weiss of Amarillo; and a sister, Debbie Willis of Amarillo. The family will be at 1025 Trinchera Drive. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bessie Earlene McDuffee Cope Bessie Earlene McDuffee Cope, 80, of Amarillo died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005 Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Jimmy Daniel officiating. Mrs. Cope was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jess Thomas Woodard in Garden Valley, Childress County, on Oct. 2, 1924. The family later moved to Roberson, where she graduated from high school. She married Lee Earl McDuffee in Tucumcari, N.M., in June 1950. She was widowed in 1953, raising her three children with the tremendous help of her family. Her family was her primary purpose, joy and focus, with a love of music and playing piano a blessed hobby. She married James Cope in 1968. She retired from Panhandle Laundry in 1990. She was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. The family wishes a special thanks be given to the TPMHR staff and Dr. Michael Jenkins for all of their dedication and help. She was preceded in death by both husbands; a grandson, Garrett McDuffee; three brothers, Bill Woodard, John Woodard and J.T. Woodard; and four sisters, Stella Moates, Bertha Williams, Grace Daniel and Betty Jo Carpenter. Survivors include a son, Eddie McDuffee and wife, Jacquelyn, of Amarillo; two daughters, Patricia Brewer and husband, Jim, and Sharon Edwards and husband, Tony, all of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Shannon Houchin and husband, Baeron, Jason McDuffee, Melanie McDuffee, Rachel Hulett and husband, James, Annette McDuffee, Angella McDuffee, Kara Baker and husband, Josh, and Joshua Brewer; two stepgrandsons, Daniel Edwards and Clint Edwards; two great- grandchildren, Benjamin Hutton Baker and Peyton James Hulett; three brothers, Gene Woodard and wife, Noreen, Ray Woodard and Earl Woodard and wife, Juanell; two sisters, Pearl Carpenter and husband, Willard, and Ruth Caddell; two sisters-in-law, Mary Woodard and Noreen Woodard; and numerous beloved nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. "Bill" Autry, 76, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Bob Miller of South Georgia Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Autry graduated from Peacock Military Academy in 1947. He was a retired electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. Autry served in the Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara L. Autry, and his parents, William and Geraldine "Jerry" Autry. Survivors include a niece, Lynn Hammett and husband, Jimbo, and family; a stepson, Richard Upton and wife, Martha, and family; and two cousins, Don Selman and wife, Murel, and ReDonna Rombs and husband, Ken. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nadine Hoffman Nadine Hoffman, 64, of Amarillo died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Holmes of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Bartlesville, Okla. She graduated from Phillips High School and Frank Phillips College. On Jan. 20, 1961, she married Fred Hoffman in Borger. She was an avid bowler and past director and treasurer of the Amarillo Women's Bowling Association. She was employed by Sterquell & Hill. She was a loyal wife, caring mother and wonderful grandmother. Survivors include her husband; a son, Terry W. Hoffman and wife, Lucy, of Lubbock; a brother, Don Burrow and wife, Mary, of Borger; and a grandson, Sterling Hoffman of Lubbock. Reasor, 82, of Canyon, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Covenant of Joy Christian Church in Amarillo with Mike Williams and Michael Arndt officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, Amarillo. Mrs. Reasor was born May 12, 1923, in Bristow, Okla., to William and Dona Willis Coppinger. She married James Reasor on Dec. 14, 1942, in Bristow. She was a charter member of Covenant of Joy Christian Church, where she taught Sunday school. She also worked at the Beehive Day Care Center in Perryton. She loved her church and working with children. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 19, 2003; three sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include three sons, Alan Reasor of Conroe, Gary Reasor of Johnson, Kan., and Mark Reasor of Canyon; a sister, Cleo Smith of Bristow; a brother, Sham Coppinger of Claremore, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Elliott was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Pilot Point and married Herbert "Cowboy" Elliott on Feb. 7, 1947, in Memphis. She was a longtime resident of Clarendon, then lived several years in Amarillo before returning to Clarendon in 1997. She was a loving wife and mother, adored grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother, wonderful sister and a special friend to so many. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include two sons, Don Elliott and wife, Susan, and Terry Elliott and wife, Debbie; a daughter, Helen Graham and husband, Ted; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Lewis; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Marjorie Row. She married Pat Kimbro on April 5, 1941, in Wellington. Survivors include a son, John Kimbro of Oklahoma City; two daughters, Patricia Brown of Wichita Falls and Susan Gooding of Lexington, S.C.; four sisters, Corene Childress, Joy Emmert and Nancy Harris, all of Wellington, and Patsy Meyer of Hugoton, Kan.; three brothers, John "Dub" Emmert of Sacramento, Calif., Tommy Emmert of Wellington and Jack Aaron of Burkburnett; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Langham was born June 12, 1922, to Elmer and Leva Hardin Langham in Lamesco. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Stephens Langham; three sons, Tommy Langham of Amarillo, Lloyd Langham of Claude and Jerry Langham of Childress; a daughter, Judy Ticer of Childress; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anna Henwood Shore CANADIAN - Anna Henwood Shore, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Matt Cook officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery in Booker by Hughs Funeral Home. Mrs. Shore was born April 2, 1915, in Beaver County, Okla., to the late Mr. William Young and Mrs. Clara Keivel Young. She attended schools in Booker. She married Dean Ernest Henwood on June 14, 1937, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1964. She then married Marion K. Shore on March 6, 1976, in Canadian. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1992. She moved to Canadian in 1941 from Lipscomb County. She then moved to El Reno, Okla., and then to Booker and back to Canadian in 1996. Anna was a waitress and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Booker and a member of First Christian Church in Canadian. She was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Lawrence Parks; a brother; and six sisters. Survivors include three sons, Franklin Henwood and wife, Gwen, of Amarillo, David Henwood and wife, Vivian, of Canadian and Jerry Henwood and wife, Helen, of Kerrville; two sisters, Edith Bellah and Elva Collins, both of Corpus Christi; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
