Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Lowe, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Powell was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Shamrock. She married Johnny Powell on June 21, 1985, in Shamrock. Survivors include her husband; two sisters, LaVerne Close of Shamrock and Bettye Hunt of Duncan, Okla.; and a brother, Harry Vermillion of Cat Spring. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Raymond Lee WELLINGTON - Raymond Lee, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vanya Neeley, pastor of Abundant Life Fellowship, and the Rev. Darrell Burton, Odyssey Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Lee was born Feb. 15, 1915, in Erick, Okla., to Harry E. Lee and Alma I. Epps Lee. He was a farmer. Survivors include three sons, Bob Lee of Paige, Jerry Lee of Amarillo and Clifton Lee of Canyon; three daughters, Pat Roberson of Wellington, Rosa Fleming of Amarillo and Beverly Ray of Shamrock; two brothers, Billy Lee and James Lee, both of Pampa; two sisters, Wilma Shults of Pampa and Bonnie Howard of Borger; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandson. Burial with military honors will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley Funeral Home. Mr. Lyendecker was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Levelland. He married Julia Luna on Dec. 18, 1992, in Plainview. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Chris Leyendecker and Stephen Luna, both of Plainview; three daughters, Sarah Leyendecker, Leandra Leyendecker and Mandy Villarreal, all of Plainview; his mother, Lupe Leyendecker of Plainview; a brother, Odell Leyendecker Jr. of Plainview; a sister, Brenda Shed of Plainview; and three grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Antonio Mendoza DUMAS - Antonio Mendoza, 34, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005. Mr. Mendoza was born Feb. 21, 1971, to Miguel and Gavina Garcia Mendoza in San Angelo. He had been employed as a shag driver. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Dedmon married Nita Ray of Pampa on Sept. 3, 1949, and celebrated 54 years of marriage. Bob was a 32nd degree Mason and was past worthy patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Miami. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Holland of Denton and Sandra Gilbert of Livingston; a son, Michael Dedmon of Pampa; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Gillilan was born June 23, 1939, in Boaz, Ala. He was a heating and air- conditioning technician. Mr. Van Dell was born in Borger. He graduated from Palo Duro High School. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for 13 years. Mr. Van Dell enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend. His favorite saying was ìLive to Ride, Ride to Live.î He married Amanda Hodnett-Bryant on July 12, 2003, in Red River, N.M. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Brooke Van Dell in 2000; and his father, Cary Bruce Van Dell in 2003 Survivors include his wife; a son, Tyler Don Van Dell of Batesville, Ark.; a stepson, Corbin Bryant of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Journey Bryant of Amarillo; his mother, Carol Rose Van Dell of Amarillo; and two brothers, Darrin Van Dell and Kevin Van Dell, both of Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Polk Street United Methodist Church Chapel with the Rev. Renae Haiduk of the church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Carver was born Sept. 16, 1925, on a farm in Floyd County to Efford and Anna Mabel Parrish. After completeing her GED in Amarillo she graduated from the Draughonís Business School and furthered her education by studying business courses at Amarillo College. During World War II, Leona served her country by working at the Pantex Ordnance Plant. She later went to work for Shell Oil Co. and Phillips Petroleum in their local business offices in Amarillo and Midland. Perhaps her greatest personal achievement was the compilation, editing and publishing of the real life exploits and adventures of her great-grandfather, John N. Jones. The book is titled ìYou Canít Get All The Coons Up One Tree,î and is taken from Jonesí manuscripts written throughout his life in the 1800s. Her efforts truly preserved an important piece of American history from the first-person perspective. Leona married Leroy Carver in San Antonio on Nov. 27, 1952, and together they made their home in Amarillo raising two daughters. She loved her family and the fulfillment of supporting them and friends whenever she could. She had a great laugh and enjoyed spending time playing cards with friends. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lila Rucker and Lucille Switzer. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tracey Lynn Walker and husband, Len, of Clovis, N.M., and Tobi Jane Sparks and husband, Tommy, of Beaulah, Colo.; two sisters, Lois Waller of Floydada and LaJuana McJimsey and husband, Raymond, of Lake McKenzie; a brother, Leroy Parrish and wife, JoAnn, of Liberty, Mo.; two grandchildren, Lenzy Walker and James Carver Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Casas was a faithful member of Iglesia Adventista de Amarillo for 12 years. She loved to hear and sing hymns. Survivors include some family in Mexico and church family in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, in St. Johnís Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gale Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Portsmouth, Va., by Harry and Bryant Co. Funeral Directors Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 21, 1913, in Norfolk, Va. She was a resident of Charlotte since 1933. Mrs. Jones was an avid gardener, artist and bridge player. She was also a mental health activist with special interest in autism. Mrs. Jones did market research for several years. A charter member of Christ Church, she served on the altar guild for many years, supplying flowers from her garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Washington and Florence De Saussaure Bacot Reed; husbands, G. Franklin Williams, William McClung and Frank Jones; a son, Norton Reed Williams; a sister, Dolly Griffin; three brothers, Washington, William and Norborne Reed; a stepdaughter, Mary Lee Barley; and a stepson, Benjamin Jones. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Franklin Williams and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo, Texas; three grandchildren, Catherine Lynn Williams Badalamenti and husband, Nick, of Chester, S.C., Christopher Reed Williams and wife, Patty, of Lexington, Va., and Elizabeth Ambler Williams of Tucson, Ariz.; a great- granddaughter, Isabella Bacot Badalamenti of Chester; stepdaughters, Elise McClung Barksdale and husband, Brian, Stephanie Jones Pettit and husband, Jim, Clayton Jones and stepson, Stephen Jones, all of Charlotte; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
