Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains in Borger. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stinnett with the Rev. Pat Carathers officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mrs. Sepulveda was born March 30, 1929, in Pleasanton. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Stinnett. Survivors include four sons, Alex Sepulveda of Fort Worth, Roger Sepulveda of Borger and Johnny and Richard Sepulveda, both of Stinnett; eight daughters, Helen Armstrong of Fort Worth, Mary Hernandez, Susie Hernandez and Vera Phelan, all of Stinnett, Louise Bearden of Rusk, Lupe Sanderson of Carthage, Ill., and IsaBell Ramon and Carol Orozco, both of Borger; four sisters, Petra Abrego of Fort Worth, Pepper Johnson of Brownfield, Katie Thorn of Las Vegas and Jovita Rivera of Pampa; a brother, Pete Martinez of Lubbock; 32 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betty Ruth Crawford QUANAH - Betty Ruth Crawford, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Quanah Memorial Park with Larry Delong, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Crawford was a lifetime resident of Quanah and a beautician. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Clemens of Quanah and Donald Lynn Clemens of The Colony; two sisters, Inez Trostle of McLean and Nova Condren of Amarillo; two brothers, Clarence Hamby of Quanah and Floyd Hamby of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ervin R. Shoulders SUNRAY - Ervin R. Shoulders, 72, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Sunray Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Hilton, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Shoulders was born May 10, 1933, in Idabel, Okla. He had been a resident of Sunray since 1955. He was a farmer for 20 years before going to work for Sherman County from 1977 to 1995. He was an avid fisherman. He married Bette Rae Folsom on Feb. 17, 1956, in Sunray and was a longtime member of Sunray Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Shelia Russell and husband, Rusty, of Dalhart, Linda Reeves of Edmond, Okla., and Dawna Roach and husband, Danny, of Friona; two sons, Rusty Shoulders and wife, Debbie, of Texhoma and Brent Shoulders and wife, Linda, of Goodwell, Okla.; a brother, James shoulders of Mountain Home, Idaho; a sister, Juanita Gay and husband, C.E., of Valliant, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jarrett was born June 14, 1918, in Fulton, Mo. She married Sam Jarrett in 1944 and moved to San Angelo in 1954. Survivors include a daughter, Eva Gay Keck of Hartley; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Bryant TULIA - Dewey E. Bryant, 82, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005. Vigil and rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of the Holy Spirit with the Rev. Scott Raef, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Bryant was born July 26, 1923, in Farmers, Ind., and spent his early childhood there. They moved to Phoenix. He joined the Army and served during World War II. He returned to Phoenix after the war. He married Betty Vulgamott on Dec. 20, 1942, in Tempe, Ariz. He moved to Tulia in 1949 and he worked several different jobs before taking up contract painting. He did that for 25 years and retired in 1976. He was a member of VFW, Church of the Holy Spirit, Knights of Columbus and St. Williams Men's Organization. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diana Bozeman of Tulia; a son, Dewey Dee Bryant of Odessa; three grandchildren, Ronda Horn of Carnegie, Okla., Buttons Bozeman of Tulia and Becky Jean Bryant of Odessa; and two great- grandchildren, Clinton Dean Horn and Cameron Horn of Carnegie. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today in the church with the Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Esquibel was born Sept. 15, 1977, in Clovis. She was Catholic and loved to spend time with her children, plan parties and dance. Mrs. Richarson, the daughter of the late Harvey and Vera (Wolf) Foster, was born May 16, 1937, in Quitaque. She worked as a secretary for most of her life. In 1956, she married Bobby Richardson. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; four brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Disbrow; two sisters, Betty Hall and Millie Barbian; a brother, Jimmy Foster; a granddaughter; and three great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amarillo John William "J.W." Jackson Jr. John William "J.W." Jackson Jr., 78, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Paul Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Erick Cemetery in Erick, Okla. Mr. Jackson was born to John and Margaret Jackson Sr. on Oct. 11, 1926. He married Jessie O'Connor on Aug. 5, 1950, in Portales, N.M. He worked for SBC Telephone and retired from AT&T. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Jackson on Oct. 29, 2003. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Jackson of Amarillo; two daughters, Leonna Williams and husband, Jim D., of Amarillo and Sherion Graham and husband, Paul, of Jacksonville, Fla.; threegrandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Billie Jane McCollum and Peggy Marie Marceliussen. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billie Nell Story Billie Nell Story, 79, of Amarillo died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. in South Georgia Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Story had a zest for life and loved to travel. At 18 years old, following high school graduation, Mrs. Story lived in Washington, D.C., to help with the war effort. She worked for the Navy and this began the many adventures of her life. Mrs. Story returned home to Amarillo and started working for the Santa Fe Railway. She was the first woman to work in the yard office. Mrs. Story retired after 43 years of service. Mrs. Story loved the Lord our God and was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be missed. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Rice. Survivors include her husband, John; three children, Jeff Hughes and wife, Charlene, of Hurst, Valerie Pogue of Cleburne and Greg Collins of Amarillo; three stepchildren, Jay Story and wife, Dee, Kenneth Story and wife, Dee, and Kay Branigan and husband, Galan, all of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosemary and Len Morrison and Carole Laird, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Clarence and Carolyn Rice of Ruidoso, N.M., David and Sylvia Johns of Phoenix and Darrell and Janice Johns of Amarillo; an aunt and treasured friend, Lorene McCarty of Amarillo; and a special cousin, Ronald Rice of Amarillo. Mrs. Story died from lung disease. The family asks that people become aware of the effects of second-hand smoke and suggests memorials to Olivia's Angels, P.O. Coulter St. Mr. Arndt was born Nov. 23, 1934, in Milwaukee and was a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He served in the Navy, and married Judith Ann Wagner in Columbus, Neb., in 1963. They settled in Amarillo in 1977. Mr. Arndt was a member of the United States Golf Teachers Federation, and was a golf instructor at Amarillo College and the middle school alternate physical education golf program. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Arndt of Canyon; two daughters, Michelle St. Peters of Midland and Holly Wood of Lantana; a brother, Les Arndt of Silverdale, Wash.; a sister, Lois Moersen of Loveland, Colo.; his mother, Luella Arndt of Columbus, Neb.: and four grandchildren, Mason Arndt, Ryan St. Peters, Reagan St. Peters and Elle Wood. Washington St., Amarillo, TX 79118. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evamaria McMonigle Evamaria McMonigle, 84, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda, Mont. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda, Mont., by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. McMonigle passed away on Saturday in Amarillo. Her daughters were with her. She was 84 years old. She was born Evamaria Schmidt in Chev, Poland, on Feb. 24, 1921, the youngest of six children. At the age of one year, she moved with her family to Konigburg, the beautiful capital city of East Prussia. At the end of World War II, she met her future husband, Burton J. McMonigle. They married in Berlin on Oct. 26, 1948, and flew out of the city during the Berlin Airlift. Burton and Eva settled in Anaconda, Burtonís hometown. Their marriage lasted almost 57 years, sadly ending with Burtonís death in May 2005. Eva will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. She loved animals and had an astounding rapport with them. A family story (apparently true) tells how she plucked a whisker from a tiger as she petted it in the Konigsburg zoo. She was asked why she did this. She claimed, "It looked loose." Survivors include two daughters, Lori Conwell and Chris McMonigle; a sister, Oli Von Schmidt; three grandchildren, Amy (Conwell) Jones, Thomas Conwell and Steven Conwell; and several nieces and nephews. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
