Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. John Elser officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Ramsdell was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Gould, Okla. She attended Amarillo High School. She worked as a civilian at Amarillo Air Force Base. She worked at Pantex and retired from the Social Security Administration in Amarillo. Survivors include a daughter, Sherrie Kornele of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Carlos Arenivar DUMAS - Carlos Arenivar, infant son of Susana and Alvaro Arenivar, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Miguel Velasco, pastor of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Carlos was born Thursday, Sept. 8, in Amarillo. Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Marina Arenivar and Karina Arenivar, both of Dumas; and his grandparents, Manuel and Adela Mendoza and Alvaro and Rosa Arenivar, all of Dumas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cecilio Castillo BORGER - Cecilio Castillo, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Castillo was born Nov. 22, 1920. He was veteran of the Army and a custodian for Anthony's and J.C. Penney. Survivors include his wife, Erma; a son Rudi Castillo of Germany; two daughters, Eva Osborn of Fort Worth and Christina Phillips of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Adolph Castillo Sr. and C.P. Castillo, both of Borger; two sisters, Tina Sanchez of Borger and Chencha Flores of Modesto, Calif.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Channing Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Edwards was born March 25, 1906, in Aspermont. She married Orville Oran "Pop" Edwards on Nov. 28, 1925, in Abernathy. Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Vernon to Frank Chandler and Lula Belle Roberts Chandler. She married Herman Harris on March 13, 1939, in Hollis, Okla. Survivors include a son, John Harris of Houston; a daughter, Annabelle Connor of Oklahoma City; a brother, Floyd Chandler of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. He was a retired warehouse supervisor for Phillips Petroleum Co. Survivors include a son, Joe N. Isham of Fritch; a daughter, Patty Elaine Day of Amarillo; a brother Charles Melvin Isham of Fort Worth; two sisters, Margaret Jones of Kansas and Elizabeth Bowersock of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Esteban Torres Jr. of Uvalde and Felix Torres of San Juan; two daughters, Connie Murillo of Hereford and Norma Linda Vargas of Mission; a brother, Mario Estrada of San Juan; seven sisters, Gloria Escobedo of Donna, Socorro Rodriguez, Cardiad Murillo, Rachel Coronado, Maria Hernandez and Gracie Rendon, all of San Juan, and Paula Esquivel of Bakersfield, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Claude Phillips Claude Phillips, 79, of Canyon died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005. Mr. Phillips was born June 13, 1926, in Winters to Claude and Winnie Townsend Phillips. He married Francis Louise Spillers at Strawn on Sept. 3, 1949. He was a veteran of the Army serving during World War II in the South Pacific and the Philippines. He worked for Phillips Petroleum and retired in 1985. He loved woodworking as a hobby since 1959. He was a longtime member of Canyon Kiwanis and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Neal Phillips of Thornton, Colo.; a daughter, Camille Phillips of Chandler, Ariz.; and a sister Doris Edwards of Hobbs, N.M.
