Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert E. Field officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Schelfhout was born in Garden City, Kan., to Ray L. and Irene V. Schelfhout on Nov. 15, 1944. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1963. He then attended Amarillo College. After finishing college, he enlisted in the Army and served his country for three years. Mr. Schelfhout was employed by Nunn Manufacturing for more than 30 years. He married Maxine Minemann in Amarillo on Feb. 18, 1987. He was preceded in death by his father in April 1996 and a brother, Leo Wayne Schelfhout in December 1997. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Amarillo; a brother, James A. Schelfhout of Amarillo; and a stepdaughter, Linda Ford of Wewoka, Okla. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeanne Wallis Jeanne Wallis, 75, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David Evans officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St. Mrs. Wallis was born in Briscoe. She married her husband, Wayne, in 1948 at First Baptist Church in Canadian. She graduated from Briscoe High School. In 1951, Jeanne graduated from the Hutchinson County Business School. She was a member of the American Association of Business Women, the Randall County Sheriff's Posse and Bonita Chapter No. 184 Order of the Eastern Star. Jeanne was Mother Advisor of Amarillo Assembly No. 19, Order of the Rainbow. Jeanne was a volunteer for 10 years with BSA Pastoral Care. Jeanne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jeanne was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kendra Lee Wallis and husband, Mike Brand, of Arlington; a son, Marty and wife, Ricki, of Amarillo; a sister, Alva White of Amarillo; two brothers, Audie Lee of Duncanville and Lyndon Lee of Lorena; and four grandchildren, Tyson and Becca Wallis, both of Fort Collins, Colo., and Megan O'Neall and Zoe Wallis, both of Arlington. The family suggests memorials be to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund in honor of Jeanne Wallis. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Evelyn DeRoule Evelyn DeRoule, 88, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 5, 2005. The family is planning a private tribute for a later time. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. DeRoule was a member of Doll Friends of Amarillo for more than 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry DeRoule. Survivors include a sister, Patricia Kiihn, and three nieces, Kim Newman, Kathy Malone and K. Lynn Kiihn. The family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, 219 W. Bell St. Miss Liles, our wonderful angel who God sent to teach us and bless our lives, went to see Jesus on Sept. 10. Trena was born Oct. 15, 1953, in Amarillo to Jack and Olena Wilkerson Liles. She was a very fun-loving person who loved her family. She loved to sing, color and talk and was very easy to please. She had participated in the Special Olympics in the softball throw and received a gold medal. Survivors include her parents of Amarillo; two brothers, Teddy Liles and wife, Becky, and Scott Liles and wife, Donna, all of Amarillo; a sister, Gloria Tindol and husband, Melvin, of Wheeler; five nieces and nephews; and three great-nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Crocker worked as a teller at Security Federal Savings & Loan for 25 years and then worked at Pampa Hardware Co. well into her nineties. She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1931. Survivors include a daughter, Frankie Hamilton of Dallas; a brother, Jake Johnson of Tulia; a sister, Billie Ward of Fort Worth; and two grandchildren. Hendrickson CHILDRESS - Jimmy C. Hendrickson, 72, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Childress Church of Christ with Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Hendrickson was born April 17, 1933, in Childress. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include four daughters, Judy Arnn, Terry Musgrove, and Julene Payne, all of Childress, and Patricia Bradford of Oklahoma City; a stepdaughter, Lisa Holtman of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his daughters' mother, Lillie Eaton of Childress. The family suggests memorials be to the Childress VA Memorial Fund/Meals on Wheels. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Al Kerby Sr. BOVINA - Al Kerby Sr., 81, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Kerby was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; a son, Al Kerby Jr. of Bovina; a daughter, Paula Benton of Muleshoe; a sister, Mary Beth Freudiger of Amarillo; three brothers, Ed Kerby of Portales, N.M., Bill Kerby of Aztec, N.M., and Jack Kerby of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. Tapia DIMMITT - Joe R. Tapia, 46, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Church of God of the First Born with the Rev. Fernando Fernandez officiating. Mrs. Warren was a night auditor for the Best Western-Borger Inn and was a lifetime resident of Fritch. Biffle CLAYTON, N.M. - Gladys C. Biffle, 96, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, in Castle Rock, Colo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Phillips, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Biffle was born June 29, 1909, in Dayton, Ore., to George W. Stonebrink and Grace Ethel Edwards Stonebrink. She married Enoch Thomas Biffle on Aug. 19, 1933, in Union County. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia A. May of Fruita, Colo., Betty M. Levesque of Castle Rock and Grace Foster of Raton; a son, Nathan G. Biffle of Logan; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren; four sisters, Viola Miller, Gene Hodges, Fran Tessman and Nina Borroz; and two brothers, Earl Stonebrink and Berle Stonebrink. Collins, 75, USAF, retired, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. He will be cremated and laid to rest with honors at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Arrangements are by French Mortuary. Sgt. Collins retired from the Air Force in 1971 and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was much loved and will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Anne; his children, Michael Collins of Dallas, Jill Collins of Albuquerque and Susan Collins of Amarillo, Texas; a sister, Audrey Boyd of Havre de Grace, Md.; and his beloved dog, Piglet. The family suggests memorials be to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oklahoma William "Bill" Harold James Jr. BOISE CITY, OKLA. - William "Bill" Harold James Jr., 62, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with Brian Long, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. James was born Aug. 31, 1943, to the late Rev. Harold James and Nina James in Clayton, N.M. He attended school in Griggs and Plainview, Texas. Bill graduated from Plainview High School in Griggs. He then attended and graduated from Panhandle State University. On Sept. 2, 1962, Bill married Barbara Adee. After they graduated from college, they came to Boise City and lived there for the 43 years of their marriage. Both of their children attended Boise City schools. Bill and Barbara farmed and ranched in the area. Bill enjoyed his family, farming and ranching. He was the Oklahoma first place winner of the 2001 National Grain Sorghum Producers and Management award. He enjoyed farming, ranching and just being outdoors with his dog, Butch, and going fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; and his father-in- law and mother-in-law, Benson and Maxine Adee. Survivors include his wife; a son, Sterlin James and wife, Dianna, of Boise City; two stepgrandsons, Matthew and Jesse Shannon; a great-grandson, Kyler; a daughter, Carmina Robuck and husband, John, of Houston; two grandchildren, Jackson and Caitlyn; his loyal best friend, Butch; his mother; a brother, Gary James of Boise City; two sisters, Sue Ford and husband, John, of Las Vegas and Jan Davis and husband, Stan, of Pawleys Island, S.C.; three brothers-in-law, Bobby Adee and wife, Johnann, of Texline, Texas, Gene Adee and wife, Jane, of Amarillo, Texas, and Donnie Adee of Boise City; six nieces and three nephews and their families; and a host of relatives and friends. Jobe, 65, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005. Memorial services to honor Mr. Jobe will be at 3 p.m. today in Lakeview Church of Christ in Tacoma. Memorial service arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., in Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Jobe was born and raised in Amarillo. He married his wife, Peggy, in 1961. He retired from the Air Force after 25 years. Bobby spent 20 years with the Lockheed and Boeing companies. Bobby will be greatly missed by those he touched during his life. He was preceded in death by his father, L.C. Jobe, and his mother, Anna Vance Jobe. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sheila and Debra, both of Tacoma; a son, Richard of Tacoma; two granddaughters; two sisters, Betty Burleson of Amarillo and Shirley Forrest of Lubbock, Texas; and three brothers, Leroy Jobe, Buford Jobe and Rick Jobe, all of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wayne Webb OCEAN SPRINGS, MISS. - Wayne Webb, 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi. Arrangements are by Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Mr. Webb, 78, of Ocean Springs, formerly a resident of Claude, Texas, passed away on Sept. 7 in Ocean Springs. Mr. Webb was born March 4, 1927, in Donley County, Texas, to Jake and Edna Taylor Webb. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II. Wayne married Norma Davis on July 3, 1948, in the parsonage of First Baptist Church in Claude. Wayne was employed by Nelson's Elevator Co. in Claude and Amarillo Air Force Base before transferring to Kessler AFB, Biloxi. He retired from Kessler AFB as superintendent of maintenance in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Clarence Webb, Claude Webb, C.C. Webb and Weldon Webb. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stanley Wayne Webb and wife, Sherry, of Mustang, Okla., and Terry Webb and wife, Joyce, of Ocean Springs; a sister, Opal Hartwell of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
