Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Smith was born Sept. 4, 1918. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Loretta Smith; three sons, William Larry Smith of Fritch, David M. Smith of McLean and Charles W. Smith of Dangerfield; a daughter, Linda Manning of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great- grandchildren. Moore, 84, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include a son, Dennis Moore and wife, Linda of San Leandro, Calif.; two daughters, Diana Heller and husband, Gary of Amarillo and Donna Lammers and husband, Howard of Thornton, Colo.; eight grandchildren, Christine A. Kirkbride, Patrick E. Heller, Desiree L. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Plainview Cemetery in Plainview with the Rev. Travis Shannon of Golden Pathways Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Forbes was born Aug. 6, 1916, in San Angelo to Faith Lafeyette and Ida Ticer. She married Amos Dewie Forbes on Aug. 27, 1932, in Dalhart. Mrs. Forbes was a homemaker. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Forbes attended River Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Evelyn Forbes, and two sons, Raymond and Avon Forbes. Survivors include a daughter, Loretta Atkinson of Amarillo; a son, Al Forbes and wife, Molly Ann of Amarillo; 11 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Richards officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Massa was born May 11, 1918, in McMinnville, Tenn., to F.Z. and Minnie Martin and was raised near Matador. In 1939 she moved to Amarillo where she worked for Mutual of Omaha. She later worked as the church secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church for many years and was a longtime member. She married William Coy Morehead in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1975. In April 1981 she married Jim Massa in Amarillo. Mrs. Massa was a member of the Amarillo Women's Golf Association and a Lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Morehead on March 25, 2003. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Gayle Morehead Temple of Sunnyvale; a daughter-in-law, Susie Morehead of Marietta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Mandy Morehead Hardy and Glenn Morehead; and her nieces and nephews, Ruth Boles, Danny Martin, Aubrey Mayfield, Paula Ussery, Donna Jones and Nadean and Melba Cantrell. Coulter St. Mrs. Womack was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Stanford. She was a homemaker and an artist who loved traveling with her family. Survivors include two sisters; three grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margery Albertson Margery Albertson, 77, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Central Church of Christ Chapel with Dan Bouchelle, senior minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Albertson was born April 23, 1928, in Fairfax, Iowa, to Frank and Effie Votroubek. She and her husband Theodore C moved to Amarillo the first time in 1953. While living in Amarillo, Mrs. Albertson was the first employee and cashier for Cloth World, which was located at 10th Avenue and Georgia Street. She and her husband worked for Budget Motel Management for 12 years before retiring in 2001. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. Mrs. Albertson was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allen Albertson and Jimmy Dean Albertson in 2004. Survivors include her husband of 58 years; a daughter, Diana Lynn of Phoenix; two sons Ted W. Albertson and wife, Pam of Amarillo and David E. Albertson and wife, Susan of Phoenix; a sister, Louise Osterby and her husband, Charles of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Mary E. Albertson of Amarillo; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- William A. Muhich William A. Muhich, 78, of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005. Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Muhich was born Feb. 18, 1927, at Jonesville, Ill., to Matthew and Antonia Muhich. He was an electronics technician at Pantex. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; and a daughter, Lisa Muhich of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Gladys Marie Peterman CANYON - Gladys Marie Peterman, 75, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with Rev. Ed Modrick officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 8310 S. Coulter St. Miss Peterman was born May 9, 1931, in Alfalfa County, Okla., the daughter of George and Janie Wazner Peterman. She attended school in Ingersoll and Cherokee, Okla., where she later graduated. Gladys attended beauty school in Wichita, Kan., and worked in Great Bend, Kan., and Amarillo as a beautician for many years. Gladys accepted Christ and was baptized into the Christian Church in Cherokee and she was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church in Amarillo. Gladys was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was Past Matron of Order of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Hazel Griffin, five brothers, Phillip, Ora, Cecil, Alva, and Ola Peterman; also a number of nieces and nephews. Survivors include a sister, Genevieve O. Stanley of Satanta, Kan. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Jo Ann Stuart SHAMROCK - Jo Ann Stuart, 58, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, in Lefors. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan, pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Stuart was born April 24, 1947, in Corpus Christi to Samuel and Sybil Gordon Stuart. She worked for El Paso Natural Gas as a secretary in Shamrock and in Monahans for the past seven years. Survivors include a daughter, Aimee Burrell of Lefors; three grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Scott of Dallas. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frankie Lee Longbine ESTELLINE - Frankie Lee Longbine, 83, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hulver Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Longbine was born Jan. 4, 1922, in Parnell, Hall County and spent most of his life in Estelline. He married Doris Sams on Aug. 28, 1942. He worked for much of his life at Estelline Co-op Cotton Gin. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1989, a son, Terry Longbine in 1995 and a grandson, Christopher Longbine in 1976. Survivors include three sons, Clyde Longbine of Amarillo, Monty Longbine of Estelline and Glen Longbine of Dallas; two daughters, Wanda Smith of Clarendon and Gaynell Miller of Wichita Falls; a brother, Leslie Longbine of California; two sisters, Katie Rogers of Childress and Margaret Mendez of Amarillo; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing one hour prior to the services at the cemetery. Casket bearers will be Wesley Smith, Danny Longbine, Jerry Longbine, Crue Medina, Terry Longbine and Ricky Furr, grandsons of Mr. Longbine. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Orville Moody, pastor of Rose Hill Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Alanreed Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home. Juanita Faye Miller was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Sayre, Okla., the daughter of James W. Hornsby and May (Lowrance) Hornsby. She was raised and educated in McLean and graduated from McLean High School in 1940. Mr. Conard Harvey Miller and Juanita Faye (Schwartz) Miller were united in marriage on Feb. 21, 1942, in Pampa. Shortly after their marriage, Mr. Miller entered the armed forces to serve his country during World War II. After his military service, they made their home and raised their three children in Fritch and Dumas. Mr. Miller preceded Juanita in death on July 15, 1990. She moved to Washington County three years ago to be closer to her family. She enjoyed her hobbies, which included crocheting and watching "The Price is Right," "Wheel of Fortune" and the bull riding and other rodeo events on television. Juanita loved her family and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was known best for her good cooking and her wonderful sense of humor. She loved being able to live on the ranch and spending time with family and friends. She was loved by her family and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, Conard Howard Miller, two grandsons, Brady Dallas Miller and Brandon Howard Miller, a great- granddaughter, Shala Lowe, and a sister, Florence Schwartz.. Survivors include her son, James Miller of Wann; her daughter, Beverley Norman and husband, Bob of Oklahoma City; four grandsons, Brett Miller and his wife, Clarrie of Albuquerque, N.M., Rusty Miller of Cheyenne, Okla., Dustin Norman and John Norman, both of Oklahoma City; two granddaughters, Cindy Lowe and her husband, Tom of Elk City, Okla., and April Norman of Oklahoma City; five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Kylie, Ty McCrea Miller and Shelby Miller of Albuquerque, and Sean Lowe of Elk City; and a sister, Collen Baker of Shamrock. He was a heavy machinery operator for Borger Sand & Gravel. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Terry Garland of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacinta Maria Cuevas OLTON - Jacinta Maria Cuevas, 58, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005. Mrs. Cuevas was born Sept. 11, 1947, in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Jesus Perez and Maria Almarez Perez. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Survivors include her children, Maria Capen, Flor Cano, Jose Cuevas and Lucy Cuevas; her brothers and sisters, Antonio Perez, Alicia Rivera, Mary Neel, Manuel Perez, Terry Viscarra, Jesus Perez, M. "Sunny" Darrah, 92, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. Burial will be in Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas, by Olinger's Hampden Funeral Home. Sunny was born March 28, 1913, on the family homestead near Colville, Wash. She married William L. Darrah in Spokane, Wash., and later moved to Amarillo, Texas. In Amarillo, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the South Amarillo Garden Club. Her passions were gardening and flower arranging. She retired in Corvallis, Ore., and later moved to Denver. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her sons, Gary Darrah and wife, Beverly and Richard Darrah and wife, Margaret; grandchildren, Kevin Darrah and wife, Kim, John Darrah and Angie Darrah; great-grandchildren, Kenlyn and Kane; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the Colorado Chapter, Alzheimer's Association, 455 Sherman St., Denver, CO 80203. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dudley Bailey "Bo" Wheeler Jr. GIDDINGS - Dudley Bailey "Bo" Wheeler Jr. of Giddings died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. Graveside services were Sunday in Giddings. Mr. Wheeler was born on Feb. 8, 1932, in Fort Worth. After graduating from Texas A&M University in College Station, he served in the Army from 1954 to 1956, subsequently serving 36 years in the Army Reserve and retiring as a lieutenant colonel. In 1956, he was employed by the Texas Cooperative Extension Services, serving as county agent in Armstrong County from 1960 to 1978 and in Lee County from 1978 until his retirement in 1987. He was an avid hunter and a talented bluegrass musician. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Lewis Wheeler; and a son, Daniel Ellis Wheeler. Survivors include his brother, Dr. James Wheeler and wife, Loretta, of Borger; a son Kurt Bradshaw Wheeler of Austin; and a daughter-in-law, Judith Ames Wheeler of Houston. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society.
