Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick, interim, and the Rev. Marvin James officiating. A private burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Burnett was born Aug. 18, 1914, at Wills Point to Elmer and Maury Wolfe Burnett. While at Wayland University, Argus taught history and Bible. After completing his education he pastored a number of Baptist churches. He served as director of Amarillo Baptist Association from Feb. 16, 1957, to Oct. 31, 1966. He became the first director and developer of the Potter-Randall Community Action Corporation on Nov. 1, 1966, serving for 18 years. After he expanded it into all 26 counties of the Panhandle, the name was changed to Texas Panhandle Community Services. He helped start Retired Senior Volunteers Program and the Head Start programs. He also helped organize Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, and after his retirement remained on the ASCA board of directors for many years. He developed community centers in all 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. He also developed the transportation system to transport the ill and elderly to Amarillo for needed services. He served as third vice president of the National Association for Community Development. Working with the National Community Action Agency Executive Directors Association he submitted a plan known as the "Burnett Plan" for the two organizations to merge and become an effective lobby group. He also served on their Legislative Forum. After retirement he served eight years as a volunteer for AARP, serving as Housing Information Director to help seniors remain in their homes. He was director of five counties for this program. In 1996, he and his family became members of First Christian Church. He served as interim minister of several churches including Childress, Plainview, Miami, and for 27 years was part of the work of North Amarillo Christian Church. He served on the first Planning Committee for what would become Baptist Hospital. He served as member and chairman of the Supervisory and Audit Committee of Amarillo Federal Credit Union for many years. He was a founding board member and helped develop Martha's Home. He was a member of Golden K Kiwanis Club and served in many capacities there. He served in many other groups and committees and loved helping in the community. Most of all he loved his God, his family, and his church. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. And according to his grandchildren and great- grandchildren he was "A GOOD KID." Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Burnett in May 2005. Survivors include his wife, Jean; three daughters, Terri Gardner and her husband, Toby of Amarillo, Beverly Faubion and her husband, Paul of Dallas, and Jaci Coan and her husband, David of Grapevine; a son, David Burnett and his wife, Donna of Lubbock; a brother, Johnny Burnett and his wife, Barbara of Yuma, Ariz.; a sister, Willie Mae Fisher of Dallas; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family wishes to thank BSA Hospice, especially Twila, Ann, Rhonda and Eve. They also wish to thank Nurses Unlimited, especially Deana and Crystal. Chapman George A. Chapman, 51, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005. Services will be at a later date. Mr. Chapman was born March 10, 1954, in Amarillo, where he was raised, moving to California and then back to Amarillo in 1965 to make it his home. He worked for Owens-Corning and was self-employed in the landscaping business at the time of his death. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Chapman of Amarillo; his mother, Mary Payton of Amarillo; a brother, Kevin Suhl of Amarillo; his dearest friend and caregiver, Beverly Word of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Mandy Pickard of Amarillo; and three grandchildren, Savannah, Aubrey and Zander, all of Amarillo. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include two brothers, Carl McLaughlin and Ronnie McLaughlin; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stuart was born April 24, 1947, in Corpus Christi to S. Merle and Sybil Gordon Stuart. She worked for El Paso Natural Gas as a secretary in Shamrock for 10 years, in Farmington, N.M., three years and in Monahans for the past seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Foster had been a resident of Pampa from 1951 until 1971, returning to Pampa in 1990 from Deer Park. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Clarendon Church of Christ with Max McClendon, pastor of Shamrock Church of Christ, and Eddie Stegall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Hartwick was born Sept. 5, 1913, in Chilton and was a resident of Lubbock for several years before moving to Clarendon in 1975. He married Nora Grigg on May 22, 1938, at Houston. He was a pipeline construction supervisor for Houston Construction Co. for much of his life before hsi retirement. He was a friendly person who never met a stranger. He was a member of a pipeliners union for 55 years and was a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ where he had served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Winfield Hartwick. Survivors include his wife, Nora; a daughter, Sarah Jane McClendon of Shamrock; a son George Larry Hartwick of Longview, Wash.; a brother, Donald Gene Hartwick of Beaumont; two sisters, Maxine Terry of Henessey, Okla., and Barbara Bond of Beaumont; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Fort Sill Cemetery in Lawton, Okla. Mr. Gibbs was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Wilbarger County, son of the late Kenneth and Willie B. (Davis) Gibbs. In World War II he served in the Army as a sergeant in the Anti-Tank Company 23rd Regiment and also served in the Korean conflict. Survivors include two sons, Randel Gibbs of Garland, and Gary Gibbs of Cleburne; a sister, Shirley Ann Crooker of New Jersey; a brother, Meredith Gibbs of Richardson; and three grandsons. Mr. Ramos was born July 14, 1937, in Robstown to Camillo Ramos and Manuella Munoz Ramos. He married Yolanda Garza on Dec. 12, 1957. Suvivors include his wife; four daughters, Mary Narvaez, Manuela Ramos, Mary Pena and Rosalinda Marshall, all of Amarillo; a brother, Ramon Ramos of Garland; four sisters, Juana Hernandes of Wellington, Lupe Fuentes, Anita Hernandez and Carmen, all of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Danny Wayne Wiginton LAKEVIEW - Danny Wayne Wiginton, 60, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Lakeview Baptist Church with Mr. Jackie Blum officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery by Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis. Mr. Wiginton was born Feb. 24, 1945, in Memphis to the late Mr. Lasco Wiginton and Mrs. Mildred Blanche Bailey Wiginton. He grew up in Lakeview and joined the Navy in 1963. He served in the Vietnam War and was discharged in 1967. He married Mary Eksyma on Nov. 25, 1967, in Orlando, Fla. Mr. Wiginton worked for Wiginton Fire and Sprinklers and founded RoDan Fire Sprinklers in Tampa, Fla. He returned to Lakeview five years ago. He was a warm and funny man who had many friends in the Lakeview and Memphis area. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters, Sybil Galazin, Jack Wiginton, Rebecca Pate, Joy Cabral, Ray Wiginton and April Linden. Survivors include a daughter, Melissa (Wiginton) Eakin and husband, Steve of San Francisco; a granddaughter, Sara Scott of San Francisco; his companion, Annelle Lillard of Memphis; five brothers and sisters, Betty Lou Chenowith of San Antonio, Bob Wiginton of Fresno, Calif., Joe Wiginton and Gail Wiginton, both of Orlando and Peggy Sparks of Idalou; and many nieces and nephews. Aron Jasper Morgan was born April 9, 1987, in Pampa, Texas, to Dwayne Jasper and Anita Sue (Byars) Morgan. He moved with his family to Owasso in 1990 and attended Owasso Public Schools. He had played freshman basketball, run track and cross country and was active with Odyssey of the Mind and French Club. He graduated with the Owasso High School class of 2005 and was currently attending the University of Arkansas majoring in chemical engineering. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including jumping off the cliffs at Skiatook Lake, tubing, fishing, camping, snow skiing, exploring and riding roller coasters. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Maudie Morgan and an aunt, Joyce Ann Morgan. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Gallegos.
