Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Amarillo with the Rev. John Watson, rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Allsup was born Sept. 27, 1943. Pasha, a proud, self-proclaimed Bohemian, embraced life with a tenacious spirit. He was a gifted poet, musician, philosopher and seeker of spiritual truth. He struggled for 45 years to break free from a defective body, never accepting limitations. He obtained a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do and mastered the guitar, having little feeling in his fingers. Pasha was most proud of his achievements in poetry. He was host of Chicago House and a member of Friendly Five and Blue Poets Society, all in Austin. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Allsup of Austin.; a brother, Rick Allsup and wife, Jerry, of Amarillo; and his father, S.R. Allsup of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Peggy Snowden Peggy Snowden, 68 of Amarillo died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Tool Cemetery in Tool with the Rev. Carry King, son-in-law, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Snowden was born in Kilgore and had been a bookkeeper. She and her husband loved square dancing with Circle 8 Square Dance club in Alexandria, La. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, her parents, Asa and Edna Gandy, a grandchild and a great-grandchild . Survivors include two daughters, Kippi Martinez of Canyon and Kyle King of Amarillo; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mrs. Burgett was born Feb. 18, 1963, in Denver to Harold and Shirlee Smalley. She worked in production services for McCormick Co. from 1988 to the present time. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Cartwright was born July 4, 1918, at Baird. She married Charles Cartwright in 1941 at Amarillo. He passed away in 2001. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ for 38 years, and she loved her church family. She was an avid painter and loved to play bridge. Survivors include a daughter, Paulette Cartwright of Milwaukee, Wis,; a son, Jon Charles Cartwright of Amarillo; a sister, Dorothy Dallas Smith of Plainview; and several nieces and nephews. Gutierrez Felipe B. Gutierrez, 88, of Amarillo died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Mieczyslaw Przepiora, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in White Deer, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Gutierrez was born April 3, 1917, in Borica, N.M. He retired in 1982 as a heavy equipment operator for Phillips Petroleum Co. after 23 years. Survivors include three sons, Joe Gutierrez and wife, Aline, of Amarillo, Ray Gutierrez of Borger and Leroy Gutierrez and wife, Cindy, of Bixby, Okla.; two daughters, Maida Villasenor and husband, Manny Perez, and Helen Hernandez and husband, Bobby. all of Amarillo; two sisters, Bennie Muniz of Taos, N.M. and Carolina Lucero of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Clevenger was born Darlene Hanchett on Jan. 26, 1928, in Mound Valley, Kan. She married Tom Clevenger on Oct. 17, 1947, in Parsons, Kan. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cecile Brown of Chillicothe and Candy Pigg of Childress; a sister, Donna Dell Anderson of Austin; her stepmother, Erma Moyer of Burbank, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren. Mr. Gowin was born Oct. 3, 1955, at Shamrock to Charles Willis and Juanita Mitchell Gowin. He graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1974. Paul was a truck driver for Canadian Redi-Mix. Survivors include a son, Colby Porter of Pampa; a daughter, Kelcie Miller and husband, Vincent, of Nevada; two grandchildren, Colton Miller and Mackena Porter; a brother, Arval Gowin of Italy; and a sister Sandra Walker of Waxahachie. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James “Jack” Bradley HEREFORD - James “Jack” Bradley, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Parkside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Tracy Dunn-Noland and Clint Formby officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bradley was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Indian Territory, Okla., the son of Jim and Lena Bradley. At the age of 7, Jack moved with his family to Amherst. He was riding his paint pony to take water to employees on his parents’ farm by the age of 8. Jack had a lifelong love of horses, farming and ranching. He bred and raised horses his entire life with his last horse, Family Calling, currently rated as one of the top 10 freshman studs in North America. At the age of 15, Jack moved to Lubbock, where he attended Texas Tech University. He took his milk cow with him and traded milk for his room and board. He worked part-time at Levine’s and Hemphill-Wells in Lubbock where one day he sold a pair of shoes to a lovely young lady, Julia Fry, who soon became his wife. They later moved to Deaf Smith County and Jack continued his tradition of “horse trading,” buying farms and ranches. He once traded an airplane for a farm. Jack strongly believed everyone should own their home, so he began building and financing houses. He also built Sugar Land Mall in Hereford, was a partner in building Sunset Mall in Amarillo and other malls in Colorado. Jack was a partner in a uranium mine in Arizona, manufactured mobile homes in Oregon and operated a restaurant in Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of the Fellowship of Believers Church in Hereford and the Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849. He was always interested in everything going on around him and wanted to be involved. Even though he traveled the world, he loved the Panhandle and thought the Plains of Texas was the very best place in the world to live. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia, and a sister. On January 17, 1992, he married Bo (Bodil) Blackburn in Las Vegas, Nev. Survivors include his wife; two sons, J. Robert Bradley of FortWorth and Jim Bradley of Dallas; a daughter, Judy Beutel and husband, Ray, of Dallas; a stepson, Joe Hutchison and wife, Judy, of Miami; two stepdaughters, Susan Ownbey and husband, Dr. Jim Ownbey, of Vinita, Okla., and Lisa Popejoy and husband, Rocky, of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Bradley of Amherst; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Grabber, 79, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, in Amarillo. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Raef officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Grabber was born Feb. 3, 1926, in St. Florian, Ala., to Joseph H. and Clara Hager Rietman. She graduated from Littlefield High School and met John Grabber while working in Tulia. They were married Jan. 9, 1952, at Charleston, Ark., and made their home in Umbarger. She was a cook at First Baptist Church for several years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Umbarger. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Patricia Grabber of Claude, Clara Grabber and Bernadette Townsend, both of Canyon and Irene Grabber of Amarillo; two sons, Jim Grabber of Umbarger and Thomas Grabber of Amarillo; a sister, Amelia Furlow of Lamesa; a brother Joe B. Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- J.H. Myatt DIMMITT - J.H. Myatt, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in 4th and Bedford Church of Christ with Mr. Brett Page officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home. Mr. Myatt was born April 15, 1932, in Abernathy. He married Earlene Nelson on Aug. 25, 1956. They were married for 49 years. He was a farmer most all of his life. He was a member of 4th and Bedford Church of Christ for 35 years. He was an active member of VFW, He was a two- time champion domino player. He was an avid sports fan. He loved his family and his church family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lindell Myatt of Abernathy. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Layne Myatt and wife, Sue Rita, of Dimmitt and Steve Myatt and wire, Darla, of Clarendon; a sister, Imogene Bryant of Abernathy; six grandchildren, Tyler Myatt and Cassie Myatt, both of Lubbock, Ross and Shea Myatt of Dimmitt, and Samantha and Hallie Myatt of Clarendon. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon with the Rev. Bob Seale, pastor, the Rev. Chris Downer of Slaton and the Rev. Robert Shields, family member of Mr. Welch, officiating. Burial will be in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Welch was born March 28, 1925, at Wellington. He was a Clarendon resident from 1973 until 2000 when he moved to Hedley. He married Helen Louise Shields on Dec. 11, 1948, at Wellington. He and his wife had been residents of the Hudson House in Claude since May. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Texas Department of Higways and Public Transportation after several years and had also been a farmer. He served about 15 years as a director with Hocheim Insurance Co. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tex Welch and wife, Terri, of Amarillo; a brother, William D. Welch of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews. Georgia St. Mr. Vargas was born in New Braunfels. He married Sandy Gonzalez on April 12, 1969, in Dimmitt. He worked for the Dimmitt Independent School District for 19 years. He was currently working for Kings Manor Methodist Home in Hereford for the last 13 years. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Ascension G. Mr. Myers was born May 13, 1932, to Dewey and Ida Myers at Brice. He married Nadine Hancock on Aug. 16, 1950, at Memphis. Mr. Myers was a retired commercial building contractor. He was also the previous owner of Myers-long Funeral Directors. Mr. Myers was a member of First Christian Church. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Palisades Baptist Church in Amarillo, Texas. On Sept. 15, 2005, Marvin Ray Ruffin was called home to our Lord Jesus Christ. Ray was born to Marvin and Bertha Ruffin. He was an Amarillo police officer, professional baseball player, and at one time ran for the U.S, Congress. But his talent always lived in the music industry, where he has won several awards for his work as a record producer and promoter. Survivors include his wife, Aharon Ruffin of Saugus; a stepson, Ryan Rockwell of Saugus; his daughters, Holly Ruffin Stauder, Jessica Ruffin Archer and Tammye Thompson, all of Amarillo and Kim Muckleroy of Houston; three sisters, Gloria Lackey of Amarillo, Diane Garcia and Darlene Postma of Alto; nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and ten nieces and nephews. Our family would like to express that Ray was one of the strongest, most gentle men anyone had the honor of meeting. The Lord blessed all of us when he gave us Marvin Ray Ruffin. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Mr. Musgrave was born June 6, 1961, in Pampa and attended Pampa schools. He had been a resident of Liberal for the past five years. He was employed by National Cooperative Refining Corporation in Liberal for five years. He married Valarie Sanchez on April 28, 2001, in Liberal. He worked with his father for several years at Pampa Warehouse & Transfer, and worked for several years in Houston in the construction business. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Pampa. He enjoyed fishing and sports.
