Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Claude Cemetery in Claude with the Rev. Dale Bigham of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by School Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Stephenson was born May 12, 1952, in Groom to Glen and Cuba Nell Stephenson. He graduated from Claude High School in 1970. Although Lonnie and Eva did not marry until May 8, 2004, they grew up together in Claude. Lonnie was in the oil industry in the production property economic analysis division. Survivors include his wife, Eva; three daughters, Kari Spencer and husband, Mark, of Houston, Bekah Stephenson of Gunnison, Colo., and Kerri Lanier and husband, Sean, of Amarillo; two sons, Josh Stephenson of Gunnison and Mike Patton of Amarillo; a sister, Glenda Ward of Amarillo; two brothers, Bob Stephenson of Amarillo and Tony Stephenson of Claude; and four grandchildren, Cameron, Seth, Alec and Rylee. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- MUG Elnora Bryant Elnora Bryant, 73, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery by Golden Gate Mortuary, 1416 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Bryant was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Shamrock. She was a beloved mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus; a son, Donald; and her mother, Mable. Survivors include seven daughters, Ada Asante, Ethel Angton, Mattie Bryant, Mary Bryant, Mable Dickson, all of Amarillo, Gladys Menefield of Shamrock and Peggy Bryant of Stockton, Calif.; two sons, C.B. Bryant of Shamrock and John Bryant of Stockton; 24 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Verna Kay Crist Verna Kay Crist, 65, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005. Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in South Georgia Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor, and Johnnie McBroom, her brother, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Palo Duro Cemetery in Wildorado by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Crist was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Canyon to Clarence Luther McBroom and Ola Verna McBroom. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1958, and that year, on Dec. 30, married Wade Crist, who preceded her in death in 2000. They lived in Wildorado for more than 30 years before moving to Amarillo 15 years ago. Verna Kay was known for baking cookies on a daily basis and delivering them to the fortunate person of the day. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church, serving there, and at First Palo Duro Baptist Church as the church pianist for more than 50 years. She worked as a secretary for J. Gaut Real Estate for years, and the family is grateful to him for his role in their lives. Survivors include a daughter, Wendy Sumpter and husband, Jeff, of Bushland; two sons, Clay Crist and wife, Julie, of Wildorado and Lyle Crist and wife, Mary Lou, of Amarillo; a brother, Johnnie McBroom and wife, Dorothy, of Galt, Calif.; a sister, Janie Carthel and husband, Joe, of Wildorado; and 10 grandchildren. Georgia St..Mrs. Hall was born in Perry, Okla., on April 17, 1925. Mrs. Hall was a member of Tascosa Country Club and was an avid golfer. Mrs. Hall volunteered for St. Anthony's Auxiliary and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. She was a beautiful person, full of life and very vivacious, and she loved to shop. Mrs. Hall loved to laugh. No matter what she faced, she greeted it with her bright smile. The family card games will never be the same and will always be a treasured memory. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and friend, who touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. She fought a long valiant battle against cancer. She was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Catherine Knight; a brother, Jake Knight, her first husband, Carl Brockman; and her second husband, William "Bill" Hall. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend and Christian who will be missed by all who knew him. Mrs. Durham was born July 27, 1917, in Cleburne to Elbert and Mitty Sartor. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Mother Advisor to the Rainbow Girls. Dorothy devoted her life to her children and husband. She was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church, where she served the Lord on several committees. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Don and Bob Durham. Mrs. Russell owned and operated the Motley County Abstract Office for more than 30 years in Matador. She spent her life in Floyd and Motley counties before moving to Canyon in 2004. Chance Kincade was born and died on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Chance Kincade has gone to heaven to join his Pops, Wayne Mahan and great-grandparents, Please and Betty Neugin and Bonnie Ireland. Chance was so wanted and loved so much by his parents and their loved ones. Although we only had him seven months, we loved him a lifetime, and he will be in our hearts forever. God gave us a chance to love. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 21, 1999; three sisters; and two brothers. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cardinal was born Dec. 3, 1907, in Indian Territory, Okla., to Pete and Emma Cardinal. He married Pauline Blaylock on Feb. 27, 1933, in Hereford. Mr. Cardinal was a mechanic, having worked many years for McWright's Garage and Cardinals before retiring in 1993. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, having held every office, and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lonnie Cardinal of Hereford; a brother, A.R. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers at Stratford. Mrs. Vandiver was born Feb. 13, 1920, in Wakita, Okla. She lived near Alva, Okla., and Waka before moving to Vega and graduating from Vega High School in 1937. She married Whitfield Lafayette Vandiver in Tucumcari, N.M., in 1939 and while Whitfield served in the European Theater during World War II, she worked at a McDonnell aircraft assembly plant in Long Beach, Calif. After the war, they made their home in Amarillo, moving to Channing in 1960. While living in Amarillo and Channing, Ina was primarily a homemaker and mother to her four sons. In 1981, she moved to Stratford where she became the bookkeeper at Elk Pharmacy until retiring in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stratford. She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1981 and an infant son. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors. Mr. Crabtree departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 21, at his home in the loving embrace of his family. He goes to dwell in the heavenly home of savior, Jesus Christ, where there is no cancer and no pain, only joy in the presence of the Lord. Shane was born Sept. 5, 1984, in Lubbock to Danny Crabtree and Helena Henslee Crabtree. He graduated from Lubbock Cooper High School in 2003. He was proud to be at Cooper for his whole school career. Shane was a true friend and could be counted on to lend a helping hand, a dollar or a smile to anyone who needed him. His friends were true to him in return and lavished him with love, support, visits and prayers throughout his illness. He loved outdoor sports including hunting, archery, team roping, golf and especially fishing. He loved to make jokes and puns, especially at his own expense, delighting family and friends with his wit and subtle humor. He blessed the lives of all who knew him, his purpose on earth fulfilled by inspiring the best in others by his example. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sue Crabtree and friend, Kelsi. She met and married David Brockbank, and in the 1970s, they moved to Australia, where they made their home since that time. Mr. Killough was born Sept. 22, 1972, in Dimmitt to James E. and Rhonda Rudd Killough. He was a loving son, father, fianc, brother and the opinionated one in the family who talked all the time. He was known to his special Uncle Bobby as "Rachet Jaws," and he loved his uncle very much. He adored the love of his life, Lyndsae and their children, and he would do anything, for them. If you asked Rodney for anything he would respond and try his best to help you with anything he could. If he said he would do it, you could count on it. He loved his job and was always a hard worker. Everyone will miss him, his smile and his big heart.
