Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road, with Van Cribbs of Christian Heritage Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Martin Road Chapel Funeral Services. Mrs. Alexander was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Carternine, Okla., to Altie Euphamia Boydstun Hill and Albert Sidney Hill. Her family moved to Caddo, Okla., in 1932. She married James Robert Alexander on May 2, 1941, in Durant, Okla. They moved to Amarillo in 1947. Mrs. Alexander was a homemaker and taught Sunday school for Hillcrest Baptist Church Youth Group for many years. She was a member of a local Skip-Bo club and a charter member of Bykota Baptist Church, which she dearly loved. She also spent many years sewing for the public. She moved to Caddo in 1999 and became a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Henry Hill; her husband; and a son, Robert Howell Alexander. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Kay Alexander Gunnels and husband, Jerry Ray, of Coppell; a son, James Dwight Alexander and wife, Peggy, of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Parish Todd Gunnels and wife, Jan Klingenberg, of Coppell, and Amber Rachelle Alexander Miles and husband, Jason, and James Daniel Alexander, all of Amarillo; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Elise Miles; three brothers, T.A. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church with Monsignor Pat Caruthers officiating. Mr. Olivarez was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Spur to Stephen and Anita Olivarez. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a graduate of WTSU in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in industrial technology. Michael retired as an area manager of Engineering-Design, North Unit in San Antonio after 26 years of service with SBC. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Angelita; a son, Michael P. Olivarez of San Antonio; a daughter, Marcy Lambert of Amarillo; a sister, Gracie Esparza of Amarillo; two brothers, Joe Olivarez of Ballinger and Henry Olivarez of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Osage St. Mrs. Moran was born in Spyker, La. She was raised in Borger and graduated from Borger High School in 1941. She moved to Amarillo in 1982 from Santa Fe, N.M. While in Santa Fe, she and her husband owned and operated Media Services, where she was an assistant editor for several newspapers in Texas and New Mexico. She married Henry E. Mathews Jr. in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1979. She later in life married Thomas L. Moran in 1986. Mrs. Moran was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, the International Club of Amarillo and the Amarillo Club. She will be remembered for her sense of style, her love of music and dancing and her blue eyes. She was also very loving and compassionate and loved to help people. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Virgil Thompson of Amarillo; three grandsons, Lee Thompson, Brandon Thompson and Charles Thompson, all of Amarillo; and a very dear and loving friend, Virginia Gutierrez of Santa Fe. Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Tindle was born March 8, 1924, in Perryton to Ernest and Alice Donnelly Tindle. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Pacific during the liberation of the Philippines. He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest R. Tindle. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1992 and attended Clarendon College, studying farm and ranch management. He later graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a degree in agriculture. After college, he moved to Pampa to operate the family farm and ranch. He married Michell Sudderth on Jan. 17, 2003. He had served as a director of Gray County Farm Bureau and was active in 4-H. He was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Raymond Maddox. Survivors include his parents, Mike and Sharon Conrad of Cleburne; a sister, Kimberly Conrad of Cleburne; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Maddox of Pampa; and his paternal grandparents, Victor and Mary Conrad of Clifton. He was a freshman student at Pampa High School, where he was involved in cross country, track and wrestling. He was also active in Pampa Optimist baseball and was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church. He loved to hunt, play golf and show livestock. He received high awards in 4-H for air rifle competition. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Johnny and Jen Doan of Skellytown; his grandparents, Brenda Lamb of Skellytown, Max Doan and Garold and Linda Bromlow, all of Pampa, and Gary and Sandra Sudderth of Farmersville; and his stepgrandparents, Mike and Sharon Conrad of Cleburne, Carolyn Hall of Garland and Dan Adams of Skellytown. Craven, Pampa, TX 79065 or Gray County 4-H. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helen Buchanan Fisher SPEARMAN - Helen Buchanan Fisher, 91, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, in Memphis. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hansford Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Fisher was born Jan. 12, 1914, to J.H. and Mary Buchanan at Old Hansford. She was a lifelong resident of Spearman. She was a telephone operator, secretary for Walter Wilmeth Cattle Co., assistant tax assessor for Hansford County and dispatcher for Sheriff J.B. Cooke. In 1959, she went to work for Cluck Cattle Co. and D.G.C. Feeders in Gruver until she retired. After retirement, she continued her interest in the Spearman and Gruver area by writing the Among the Neighbors column in the Spearman Reporter. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy and First United Methodist Church. She was very active in community affairs in Spearman, having served as president of the PTA, a Girl Scout leader, secretary of the Hansford Cemetery Board for more than 40 years and secretary of the Rodeo Association. Helen graduated from Spearman High School and attended McMurry College. She married Zack Fisher in January 1939 in Orville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary Latoura; her husband in 1941; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Berg of Dalton, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Tipton and Lucile Allen; and four brothers, Monroe Buchanan, Paul Buchanan, J.W. Buchanan and J.B. Buchanan. Survivors include a son, Zack Fisher and wife, Texie, of Memphis; a granddaughter, Kelli Little and husband, Mark, of Memphis; a grandson, Kevin Fisher and wife, Cara, of Memphis; three great-grandsons, Peyton Little, Zack Fisher and Kord Fisher, all of Memphis; and three sisters, Louise Vaught and Edna Bassel, both of Amarillo, and Virginia Cates of Booker. Mrs. Quante had been a resident of Pampa for the past year, moving from Denver. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Mrs. Womble was born in Hutchinson County and lived in the area for a lifetime. She married Roscoe "Man" Womble on Dec. 15, 1929, in Spearman. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Spearman, Golden Spread Senior Citizens Center and Eastern Star. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Womble and wife, Jackie, Bob Womble and wife, Susie, and Ron Womble and wife, Deana, all of Morse; a daughter, Jeannie Bennett and husband, Hal, of Stratford; a sister, Lola Newcomb and husband, Charles, of Spearman; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-granddaughter. Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Keithville, La. She was married to Benjamin F. Roberts and moved to Shreveport, La., where they reared three sons and three daughters. She moved to Los Angeles in 1969, where she retired from USC Medical Center after 29 years as a clerical secretary. Upon retiring, she moved to Tulsa, where she served as a Jehovah Witness. She will be remembered for her love for her family and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Johnnie Lee Roberts; a daughter, Carolyn A. Roberts; and a set of twins. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. B.F. Roberts Jr. and wife, Brenda F. Roberts, of Amarillo and Chris W. Roberts of Los Angeles; three daughters, Diana L. Del Sanford of Sheridan, nephews, officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. "Willie" was born Oct. 25, 1923, to Benjamin F. and Margie Blagg near Bluffton, Ark. He married Gelene Pennington on Nov. 19, 1942, in Dumas. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and in December 1942, he was called to duty. He attended machinist school in San Diego, and in March 1943, he started serving on board a destroyer, the USS Brown. He spent the next three years in the South Pacific Battle Zone. He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Norman Blagg, in 1995. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Gelene; a son, Frank and wife, Vickie, of Dripping Springs; six grandchildren, Anne Marie Taylor and Jeremy W. F. Blagg of Alvin, Laura Denise Belyeu of San Antonio, Andrea Genelle Pylate of Baytown, Tara Jo Bieck of San Diego, and Magen Leigh Hyatt of Austin; two sisters, Imo Gene McCarty and Molly Ruth Martin, both of Amarillo; and six great-grandchildren. Willie and his wife, Gelene, lived in Austin since 2001. He was a Methodist and had worked for more than 40 years in the oil field business in the Panhandle area of Texas. Morgan FRIENDSWOOD - Mary B. Morgan died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005. Arrangements are by Jeter Memorial Funeral Home. Mary B. Morgan went to be with her Lord on Sept. 28, 2005, at the age of 88 in Friendswood. She was born Nov. 11, 1916, to Flake T. and Jim (Dobbs) Burke in Statesville, NC. She served in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps from November 1942 to June 1945. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas A. Morgan. "Jake" Scroggins, 90, longtime Amarillo resident, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, in Grapevine. Services were at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo by Lucas & Thompson Funeral Home. Mr. Scroggins was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Boyd to John Ed and Isa Bell Scroggins. He grew up in Wise County. J.E. married Pauline Parish in 1941. He served in the Navy during World War II as a petty officer in the Sea Bees in the Pacific Theater. Upon returning from the war, he was employed by Cooper and Woodruff Highway Construction (Amarillo Road), building highways all over Texas for 36 years. Mr. Scroggins was a faithful member of Polk Street United Methodist Church for 51 years, serving on numerous committees. He was a resident of Amarillo for 53 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sibling; and a son, Benny.
