Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Bob Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Groom Cemetery in Groom by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Babcock was born and raised in Groom and moved to Amarillo in 1957. He was a 1965 graduate of Amarillo High School. He married Candice Tolliver on June 25, 1988, in Dumas. He worked as an assistant manager for Amarillo Clutch for 27 years before going to work for AFLAC in 2004. Bill loved being "PoPo" to Reaganne and Gracie Reed and many other children. He was raised to the degree of Master Mason on Feb. 24, 1973, and was raised to Scottish Rite Mason and joined the Shrine on Nov. 19, 1973. He served as Potentate of Khiva Shrine Temple in 2000. He was a member of the Khiva Mule Skinners, Director's Staff, Artison, Patrol and Cabri. He served on the board of directors of the Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston. Bill was a charter member of the Coors Cowboy Club and served on the Tri-State Fair and Rodeo board of directors. He was preceded in death by his father, H.M. "Jack" Babcock in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Babcock; his mother, Pearl Babcock of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Babcock of Orcas Island, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the Khiva Shrine Travel Fund or the Galveston Children's Burn Hospital, in care of Khiva Shrine Center, 305 E. Fifth Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ruth M. Harmon Ruth M. Harmon, 89, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Murray Gossett, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Harmon was a longtime resident of Amarillo. She was born Aug. 10, 1916, to Albert and Vera Holland Masters in Columbus, Kan. She married Mundy Harmon on Aug. 10, 1936. Mrs. Harmon worked for ICX Trucking until it closed and retired from the banking industry in Amarillo. She was a member of the Amarillo Business Women's Association and was presented the ABWA's Woman of the Year Award. Mrs. Harmon was an avid oil painter who taught as a volunteer art teacher for the senior citizens class at Amarillo College for 20 years. She is remembered as a nurturing, loving woman. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 26, 1992, and a brother, Bert Masters on Jan. 2, 1985. Survivors include a sister, Helen Robertson of Wichita Falls; a nephew, Gary Masters of Forney; a niece, Sheri Godwin of Wichita Falls; and many special friends. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice or Presbyterian Children's Home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Deanna Smith Sanders Deanna Smith Sanders, 46, of Amarillo died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Life of Praise Fellowship with the Rev. Lavon Thompson officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Sanders was born in Amarillo to Elbert and Eleanor Smith. She was married in Amarillo to Kenneth R. Sanders in 1988. She worked for more than 10 years at the Amarillo Club. She loved to camp at Lake McClellan, and she loved her pets. She attended Life of Praise Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Linden Baker, Darrel Smith and Kenneth Smith. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Karlee Creek and husband, Matthew, of Amarillo; a son, J.W. Thomas and wife, Jessica, of Amarillo; two sisters, Jackie Shannon and Sharon Smith, both of Amarillo; a stepsister, June Baker of Irving; a brother, Gary Smith of Enid, Okla.; three stepbrothers, Keith Baker of Dallas and Jerry Baker and Robert Baker, both of Amarillo; her stepfather, Linden Baker of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Ashley, Shaylin, Kaylee, Travis and Jordan; a niece, Keisha Julian of Amarillo; and very special friends, Jackie McDonald and Mark Julian. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church in Dumas with Beth Harrington, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Gardens in Borger by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. West was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Atwood, Okla. He lived in Fritch for 45 years before moving to Dumas seven years ago. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dendy West; two sons, James "Jim" West and wife, Lou, of Fritch and William "Bill" West and wife, Paula, of Amarillo; a daughter, Mary Jordan and husband, Neal, of Plano; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 209 S. Bliss, Dumas, TX 79029. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hedley First Baptist Church in Hedley with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Hedley by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Mullins was a native of Hedley. He served in the Navy and was a retired phone technician for Southwestern Bell. Survivors include a brother, William Mullins of Baltimore, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Richard "Ricky" Bruce Williams CLAUDE - Richard "Ricky" Bruce Williams, 56, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., in Amarillo with the Rev. Joe Jernigan of Calvary Christian Church in Shamrock officiating. Mr. Williams was born Jan. 21, 1949, to Charles and Margaret Williams in Muleshoe. He grew up in Sudan. Mr. Williams worked in construction throughout his life. He enjoyed playing darts and shooting pool. He surrounded himself with family and friends, always cutting up and having fun. Mr. Williams attended Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dwight Williams. Survivors include two daughters, Ricki Williams of San Antonio and Shelly Williams of Alamogordo, N.M.; a son, Billy Williams and wife, Darla, of Amarillo; three sisters, Janet Cox of Grand Junction, Colo., and Vicki Bailey and Debbie Williams, both of Claude; and 10 grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret Mary Leicht PERRYTON - Margaret Mary Leicht, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, in Lubbock. Wake services will be at 7 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Joe Bixenman officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mrs. Leicht was born Jan. 18, 1924, in Perryton. She lived in the area for a lifetime but moved to Lubbock in 2003. She married Cecil Leicht on May 9, 1943, in Beaver County, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Perryton. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma and friend. Her love and legacy will live on in her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Inez Pletcher; her husband in 1998; two brothers, Bernard Pletcher and Thomas Pletcher; a sister, Judy Pletcher Carpenter; an infant sister, Marcella Maud Pletcher; and a son- in-law, Mike Lea. Survivors include three sons, John Leicht and wife, Linda, of Georgetown, Jeff Leicht and wife, Tara, of Farnsworth and Bert Lee Leicht of Colorado; a daughter, Mary Cec Lea of Wolfforth; two brothers, George Edwin Pletcher of Houston and Danny Pletcher of Frankston; a sister, Barbara Quigley of Galveston; eight grandchildren, Christine Vandergriff and husband, Mike, of Georgetown, Keith Leicht and wife, Shauna, of Sachse, Michael Lea and wife, Erin, of Fort Worth, Karen Lea-Slover and husband, John Slover, of Lubbock, Cody Leicht and wife, Amber, of Farnsworth, Jeremy Piatt of Perryton, Crissy Leicht of Amarillo and Jake Leicht of Spearman; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Mr. Tate was born March 22, 1925, in Clovis to Vernon and Ada Tate. He married Laura Mae Jones in June 1944. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Betty Jo Stevens of San Diego; a daughter, Linda Rickstrew of San Antonio; and a granddaughter.
