Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Childress Church of Christ in Childress with Cody McCain officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mr. Conway was born June 1, 1959, in Childress. Rusty was employed for a number of years with the Chevron Oil Co. He was a metal building and roof fabricator. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Owens and his parents, Raymond Conway and Maedell Boone Conway. Survivors include two daughters, Chayla Conway and Kayla Wright, both of Amarillo; a son, Rusty Conway of Amarillo; five brothers, Roy McCain of Childress, David McCain and wife, Dorinda, of Dallas, Don McCain and wife, Carla, of Ardmore, Okla., Fred McCain and wife, Betty, of Amarillo and Jerry Conway and wife, Barbara, of Panhandle; three sisters, Ramia Lee Rothwell of Clovis, N.M., Shirley Eudy and husband, Curtis, of Bowie and Sonja Dodge and husband, Dane, of Pampa; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Childress. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rosemary Johnson Rosemary Johnson, 89, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery in Muleshoe with the Rev. Mary Ellen Johnson of Westcliff United Methodist Church in Fort Worth officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Johnson was born Feb. 14, 1916, in Brazos County. She was a homemaker and member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Baker Johnson. Survivors include a daughter, Nan Arthur of Amarillo; a son, Baker Johnson Jr. of Azle; two granddaughters, Mary Hannigan of Bedford and Sally Moser of Casper, Wyo.; a grandson, Chris Johnson of Lake Worth; a niece, Pat Watson of Portales, N.M.; and four great-grandchildren. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101-1425. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hellen Finck Nelson Hellen Finck Nelson, 78, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Marvin James officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Nelson was born Nov. 5, 1926, in Canyon. She graduated from high school in Levelland in 1946. She lived on a farm 16 miles from Canyon near the Palo Duro Canyon. When the CCC camp was building Palo Duro Canyon, the workers got their water from a well on the farm. In 1938, she moved to Hereford. She had rheumatic fever at age 11 and was confined to her bed for a year. At age 16, she moved to Canadian with her parents. When school started again that year, she moved to Woodward, Okla., and then to Washington, D.C., to work for the Department of the Navy until World War II ended. She returned to Levelland and finished high school. She moved to Denver and joined a magazine crew, traveling extensively with them. Mrs. Nelson worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital for 28 years as an interviewer, typist, clerk typist on wards, secretary to chief of housekeeping and nursing service and executive secretary to associate chief of staff of research and development. She retired Dec. 31, 1987, and enjoyed many happy times. She met and married Robert Nelson on Aug. 4, 1994. During her life, she had to say her final good-bye to her mother and father, three brothers, Melvin, Harry and Kenneth Finck, a sister, Virgie Hibbs and a daughter, Gwendolyn Zachary. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Ida Perkins and Nina Jacobson; a son, Zehn Richards; a sister, Connie Hamby; a brother, Robert Finck; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- R.C. Sawyer R.C. Sawyer, 83, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. No services are planned. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Sawyer was born March 16, 1922, in Monroe City, Ala., to Richard C. Sawyer and Lela Ward Sawyer. He was a mentor to all and will be missed. Survivors include Dorothy Sawyer; four daughters, Carolyn Gollihugh, Debbie Sawyer, Darlene Heffner and Patricia Pennington; a brother, Knarvie Sawyer; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many, many friends. The family suggests memorials be to Odyssey Health Care. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. today to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Joe Bixenman officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Miss Augustine was born March 28, 1975, in Hays, Kan. She was a graduate of Plainville High School in Plainville, Kan. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary and David McCoy of Perryton; her father and stepmother, Richard and Sandy Augustine of Canadian; two brothers, Craig A. Augustine of Plainville and Clint Augustine of Bentonville, Ark.; her grandparent, Francis J. Haas of Garden City, Kan.; two stepsisters, Lana Green of Canadian and Christy Clausen of Oklahoma City; and three stepbrothers, Wesley Curbo of Canadian, Wyatt Curbo of Dumas, and Derrick McCoy of Oklahoma City. The family will hold services at a later date in Cement, Okla. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mrs. Justice was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Cement. She had been a waitress. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Dick Riley; a brother, Jack Riley; and a grandson, Adam Shields. Survivors include four sons, Terry Shields of Groom, Joe Voiron of Pampa, and Donald Rumsey and Jimmy Rumsey, both of Oklahoma; a daughter, Shiela Burney of Howardwick; a sister, Beulah Yale of Ridgeway, Pa.; three brothers, Gary Riley of Lexington, Okla., and Bill Riley and Kenneth Riley, both of Blanchard, Okla.: 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- LaVohn Dean Kirk FRIONA - LaVohn Dean Kirk, 65, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, in Amarillo. The family will hold a private service. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo. Mrs. Kirk was born Sept. 21, 1940, in Sundown. She spent most of her life in Friona. Survivors include two sons, Tim Kirk of College Station and Michael Kirk of Friona; two sisters, Phyllis Ratjen of Happy and Sharon White of Las Cruces, N.M.; and two grandsons, Charlie Kirk and John Kirk, both of College Station. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Mexico Clyde L. DeFoor CLOVIS, N.M. - Clyde L. DeFoor, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Highland Baptist Church with Farril DeFoor, Steve Friskup and Dean Turvaville officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. DeFoor was born Jan. 16, 1933, in House to John "Pop" DeFoor and Daisy Loving DeFoor. He married Wanda Lois Banister on Sept. 9, 1951, in Clovis. Survivors include his wife; six children, Kyril Bruce DeFoor, Ginia Taylor, Vala Sprinkle, Terril DeFoor, Farril DeFoor and Kip DeFoor; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Matthew 25 Project. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Christine Maria Dominguez CLOVIS, N.M. - Christine Maria Dominguez, 54, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe. Mass be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Daniel Chavez, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Dominguez was born Nov. 24, 1950, to Vidal and Emma Duran Padilla in Santa Rosa. She married Jerry Dominguez on June 17, 1972, in Clovis. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tammy Lasner of Albuquerque and Anna Dominguez of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; six brothers, Joe Padilla Jr., Eddie Padilla, Joe Padilla, Billy Padilla and Johnny Padilla, all of Clovis, and Bennie Griego of Las Lunas; and six sisters, Viola Rodriguez, Carolyn Padilla, Mable Cordova and Versita Chapman, all of Clovis, Rita Lueras of Albuquerque and Margie Ponce of Tucumcari. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oklahoma Bobby Wayne Bayless LEBANON, OKLA. - Bobby Wayne Bayless, 67, formerly of Amarillo, Texas, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lebanon Baptist Church with Dan Clifton officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery by Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Madill. Mr. Bayless was born July 23, 1938, in Rector, Clay County, Ark., to Elam and Irene Monroe Bayless. He married Jessica Marie Bayless in Stinnett, Texas, on July 19, 1985. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Vikie Bayless of Canyon, Texas, Shelley Jo Flynn of Euless, Texas, and Christine Cartwright Johnson of Fittstown; three sons, Michael Bayless of Euless, Scott Cartwright of Ada and Jason Poindexter of Mustang; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
