A celebration of life memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today in The Church at Quail Creek San Jacinto Baptist with Dale Moreland, associate pastor, Dr. Scott Hadden and his cousin, the Rev. Charles Cropper of Bethany Presbyterian Church in San Antonio, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Robbie was born Sept. 2, 1967, in Albuquerque, N.M. While living there he owned his own business, "Enchantment Electronics." He had a great love for music and played in a band, January's Little Joke, which had great success, opening for many big name bands such as KISS. He later moved to Amarillo where he has been a resident for the past eight years. He was employed at VITEL Communications in Amarillo as a certified electronics technician installer. During his career he had the opportunity to work on many great projects such as Bell Helicopter, Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport, BSA Hospital and the Amarillo Globe-News security and alarm systems. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in August 2004, the same month he met the love of his life, Nichele. He asked her father for her hand in marriage in March 2005. The two of them later joined The Church at Quail Creek San Jacinto Baptist and were members of the Nearly and Newly Wed Life Group. Robbie loved the annual family reunions held in San Antonio and was so excited to take Nichele this year to introduce her to his family. He enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes and was a huge movie buff. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Emily Geha. Survivors include his mother, Ann Corn of Las Vegas; his father, Jesse Dunn Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Lawton, Okla.; brothers, Jason Dunn of Irvine, Calif., and Jared Dunn of Stillwater, Okla.; sisters, Leigh-Ann Corn of Las Vegas, Kelli Hennessee and Jessica Dunn of Lawton; nieces, Kayla Dunn, Kendle and Kylie Hennessee, all of Lawton; paternal grandparents, Jesse Dunn Sr. and wife, Maureen, of Jourdanton; his fiance, Nichele Burns of Amarillo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family suggests memorials be to The Church at Quail Creek San Jacinto Baptist Building Fund or the American Heart Association. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Violet Evelyn Loeffelbein Violet Evelyn Loeffelbein, 98, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Welter's Funeral Home in Huron, S.D., with the Rev. Steve Brandsrud of American Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Loeffelbein was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Bayard, Neb., and she was a longtime resident of Huron. She retired in 1975 from Beadle County Abstract & Title Co. She enjoyed traveling and family was a great part of her life. She was a member of American Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewald Loeffelbein, on May 29, 1969; a daughter, Alta Arteman; her father, Orville Smith; her mother, Viola Smith; and two brothers, Lyle Smith and Lewis Smith. Survivors include a son, Dean Loeffelbein of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Fillmore St., Amarillo, TX 79110. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reynaldo Vigil Reynaldo Vigil, 92, of Amarillo died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church with Monsignor Ray Croshier officiating. Mr. Vigil was born June 3, 1913, in Alamosa, N.M. He married Margaret Montano in 1937, and she preceded him in death in 1995. Mr. Vigil served in the Army during World War II. He worked for Santa Fe Railway for 40 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Duarte in 2002; and two grandsons, Rudy Vigil in 1985 and Richard Vigil. Survivors include two sons, Reynaldo Vigil Jr. and Ricky Vigil; six daughters, Loretta Duran, Patricia Gomez, Virginia Vigil, Cora Vigil, Paula Hernandez and Cindy Vigil; a brother, Julian Vigil; four sisters, Pat, Francis, Della and Rose; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great- grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Nelson Funeral Service Green Forest Chapel in Berryville, Ark., with the Rev. Scott Cox and the Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery by Nelson Funeral Service. Mrs. Allen was born March 24, 1937, in Harrison, Ark., a daughter of Martha Louise Pettit. She married Gene Allen on June 7, 1955. Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Allen of Manteca, Calif.; a daughter, Michele Mathern of Riverton, Wyo.; a brother Gary Epley of Alpena, Ark.; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Gideons or a charity of choice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jorge Alberto Murga DUMAS - Jorge Alberto Murga, 24, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Martin Nevarro, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Murga was born Nov. 7, 1980, in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a Dumas resident most of his life. He was a 1999 graduate of Dumas High School. He was an oil rig operator for Birdcreek Operating. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Luisa Murga. Survivors include his parents, Jesus and Juanita Murga of Dumas; six brothers, Jose Murga and wife, Hermina, Jesus Murga Jr. and Daniel Murga and wife, Darlene, all of Dumas, Luis A. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Carter was born Jan. 30, 1931, in Childress to Alvoy Jesse and Vivian Blanche Murphy Carter. He married Kathy Bastian on Aug. 18, 1967, in Guymon, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Denver Carter of Perryton and Mike Reynolds of Amarillo; five daughters, Sharon Murphy, Tera Carter, Chera Carter and Chara Moore, all of Amarillo and Deana Blakley of Fritch; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betty Florence Crouch PAMPA - Betty Florence Crouch, 74, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, in Miami. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Bill Burkholder, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery. Mrs. Crouch graduated as salutatorian from Miami High School and moved from Miami to Pampa in 1960. She was a secretary for A.S.C.S. for many years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include a brother, Guy Smith of Miami. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Elsewhere Jessie Lee "Buddy" Simmons LAFAYETTE, LA. - Jessie Lee "Buddy" Simmons, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, Texas, with the Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, Texas, officiating. Local arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the Navy serving during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a drilling superintendent for Cabot Oil & Gas for more than 30 years. Survivors include his wife, Betty Holt Simmons; a son, Steve Simmons; and two grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Judson Wayne Hair COPPERAS COVE - Judson Wayne Hair, 87, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005. Bell St. Mr. Hair was a very loving father, grandfather and brother. Survivors include two sons, John Hair of Copperas Cove and Floyd W. Hair of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Lillie Hair of Salt Lake City and Marie Carmen O'Brien of Green Bay, Wis.; a brother, Jettie Hair of El Paso; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Mexico Elizabeth Rebecca Hurley Mitchell CLOVIS, N.M. - Elizabeth Rebecca Hurley Mitchell, 103, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mitchell was born May 28, 1902, in Cody, Wyo., to Frank and Carrie Hurley. She married Dewey Mitchell on Aug. 11, 1921, in Grier. Survivors include a daughter, Iris O'Rear of St. Vrain; three sons, Waymon Mitchell, Elbert Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell, all of Clovis; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Henry Bugg TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Alan Henry Bugg, 50, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Iola Allender, minister, and the Rev. Ben Larzelere, minster of Christ Lutheran Church of Santa Fe, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Bugg passed away in the University of New Mexico Hospital on Friday following a fierce battle with West Nile Virus Encephalitis. Alan Bugg was born July 4, 1955, in Albuquerque. He attended and graduated from the Tucumcari school system in 1975. He was employed during his lifetime by his parents on their farms and ranch, Matador Cattle Co., Tucumcari EMS, Quay County Sheriff's Office, Quay County Detention Center and the city of Tucumcari. He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge 1172 of Tucumcari, New Mexico Cattle Growers Association and Tucumcari Crime Stoppers. He received a kidney- pancreas transplant on June 17, 2005, in Minneapolis. Survivors include his wife, Catherine; a son, Quinten Lee Bugg of Tucumcari; two brothers, Buddy Manning and John R. Bugg, both of Tucumcari; a host of cousins; two nephews; and aunts and uncles. The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church of Tucumcari, the Tucumcari Helping Hands Hospice, the 4-H Foundation or a favorite charity in memory of Alan H.
