A memorial celebration of his life will be at 4 p.m. today in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with the Rev. Mark Urquhart of Hospice Care of the Southwest officiating. Mack was born Aug. 16, 1953, in Amarillo. He attended Palo Duro High School, and later joined the Navy. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners fan. He had a great love for his children, who were his life. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Boyett, and Patsy Boyett-Kilmer. Survivors include four children, Brian Grenio of The Colony, Bradley Boyett and wife, Katrina, Brandon Boyett and Suzanne Boyett, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Randy Boyett of Amarillo and Kevin Boyett of Abbeville, La.; two aunts, Dorothy McGill of Wellington and May Long of Dumas; and two uncles, Don Baird of Odessa and Gene Baird of Kerrville. The family would like to express their appreciation to his loving daughter-in- law, Katrina. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church in Claflin, Kan. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Ms. Guzman was born April 1, 1961, in Topeka, Kan., to Eugene and Thecla Hammersmith. She spent the last years of her life as a homemaker, enjoying sewing, stained glass painting, clay creations and spending time with her friends and family. Survivors include her children, James Kempke of Wichita, Kan., Angela Daniels of Edmond, Okla., Katie Kempke of Claflin, Amanda Kempke of Johnson, Kan., Alex Wright of Grand Junction, Colo., and Sammy Guzman of Amarillo; her mother of Ellinwood, Kan.; two sisters, Pat Collins and Jan Wolfkill of Ellinwood; four brothers, Terry Hammersmith of Hernando, Miss., Eugene Hammersmith of Kansas City, Kan., Steve Hammersmith of Olathe, Kan., and Kenneth of Gulfport, Miss.; and a grandchild. Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery North Mausoleum Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Jeff Messer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mrs. Niles was born in Monte Vista, Colo., and was a resident of Amarillo since 1974. A homemaker, she was an active member of Paramount Baptist Church until moving to the Elizabeth Jane Bivins Home in 1992. Mrs. Niles was well-known for her needlework and won several blue ribbons at the Tri-State Fair. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the staff at Elizabeth Jane Bivins Home for their love and care the last 13 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Niles on April 10, 1974; and a daughter, Dorothy May Bailey. Survivors include a son, Leslie J. Niles and wife, Jeanette, of Amarillo; two daughters, Thelma Shupe and husband, Howard, of Sedona, Ariz., and Lucile Hixson and husband, Wayne, of St. George, Utah; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leticia Martina Ayala Villa Leticia Martina Ayala Villa, 28, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005. Francisco Jaquez as celebrant. Leticia was born March 14, 1977, in Elgin, Ill., and lived in Amarillo for the past nine years. She married Julian Villa in 1988. She was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. Leticia was a loving and devoted wife and mother who loved being home with her two children. She also enjoyed listening to the radio. Survivors include her husband, Julian; a daughter, Judith Villa; a son, Rutilio Villa; her parents, Elario and Judith Ayala; and two brothers, Osvaldo Ayala and Gustavo Ayala, all of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hilda Gerber Heiman Hilda Gerber Heiman, 92, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in Panhandle. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Mark Seidlitz, deacon, officiating. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Arturo Meza officiating. Intombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum. Mrs. Heiman was born Oct. 15, 1913, in Nazareth to Mathias and Ann Rosalie Sueper Gerber. She married Florence "F.H." Heiman on May 30, 1933, in Paris, Ark. Survivors include two sisters, Amy Schmucker of Nazareth and Isabel Skidmore of Amarillo; and a brother, M.J. "Sonny" Gerber of Manter, Kan. Mr. Cote was born June 17, 1960, in Johnson City, N.Y. Survivors include his mother, Ella Pitcher of Leesville, S.C.; two sisters, Ella Ryan of New York and Sharon Sedore of Gatesville; and two brothers, Raymond Cote and Gary Cote, both of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Lloyd Agee FRITCH - Lloyd Agee, 69, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Cleo Misner and Bob Thomas officiating. Lloyd was liked by everyone. He loved to fish, camp and travel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Virgil Agee. Survivors include his wife, Nelda; five sons, Steve, Mike, Ricky, Bobby and Marshall; two daughters, Nila and Pam; many grandchildren; and six sisters. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Culwell was born Feb. 24, 1949, in Borger. He was a resident of the MHMR Center in Amarillo. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ray and Florene Culwell of Fritch; a brother, Billy Culwell of Borger; and a sister, Debbie Brewer of Yukon, Okla. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stella Kirkland SHAMROCK - Stella Kirkland, 74, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Calvary Christian Fellowship with the Rev. Joe G. Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kirkland was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Wellington to Carl Rufus and Mattie Duff Jolley Yarbrough. She married Billy Eugene Kirkland on Sept. 22, 1949, in Shamrock. She lived in the Shamrock area most of her life. She was a homemaker, a wonderful mom and grandma. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 17, 2001; a sister, Pat Whitworth in 2003; and a great-grandson, Dalton Ray Kirkland in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Gaylon Kirkland and wife, Tracy, and Daylon Kirkland and wife, Melody, all of Shamrock; four daughters, Lillian Hall and husband, Larry Don, of Oklahoma City, Tressie Sanders and husband, Johnnie, of Loveland, Colo., Ruby Kellison and husband, Max, of Lefors and Shirley Harris and husband, Jack, of Branson, Mo.; a brother, Buddie Yarbrough of Como; five sisters, Doris Kirkland of Shamrock, Ruby Teer of Mount Vernon, Bessie Calvary of Wills Point, Trula Davenport of Grand Prairie and Ruth Love of Monroe, La.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Borger and was a lifetime resident of Borger. He was a crane operator and a member of Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vickie; two sons, Mark Mitchell and Wesley Mitchell, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Denise Mitchell of Borger; two brothers, Wayne Mitchell and Steve Mitchell, both of Borger; two sisters, Charlene Price and Rhonda Christian, both of Borger; and five grandchildren. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rosa Lee Dunn DUMAS - Rosa Lee Dunn, 91, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Don Bethel officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Dunn was born Feb. 13, 1914, in Anderson County, S.C., to Truman and Della Bowling. She moved with her family to Union County, N.M., when she was a young girl. After graduating from Clayton High School, she worked for WPA and other jobs. She married Lloyd Dunn on Aug. 28, 1938, in Union County. They moved to Dumas in 1941, where he worked in the war effort building refineries. She was a member of First Baptist Church and spent many years working with children and in WMU. She was the first director of the kindergarten at the Baptist Spanish Mission and the first director of the satellite school in Dumas until her retirement. She moved to Grand Prairie to live with her daughter, Janet Ammons, after she developed Alzheimer's Disease in the early '90s. She then moved to Wellington Care Center in 2000 when Janet and her husband, James, retired and moved to Wellington. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Robert, Cecil and P.D.; a sister, Betty Jene; a granddaughter, Rochelle Ammons; a niece, Delinda Bowling Manning; and three brothers-in-law, A.L. Turnley, Charles Bird and Jim Welch. Survivors include two daughters, Marian Johnson and Janet Ammons and husband, James, all of Welllington; four sisters, Sarah Bethel and husband, Don, of Marion, Ill., Edna Welch of Fresno, Calif., Elizabeth Turnley of Waco and Della May Bird of Marlin; two granddaughters, Rose Ann Ammons of Austin and Jolene Caraway and husband, Chris, of Hurst; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Caraway of Hurst; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Linda Daves and husband, Dale, of Dumas. Mr. Darryl was born March 18, 1912, in Seattle and lived in Texarkana since 1977. He was a retired salesman, having worked for Zales Jewelers and The Western Store. He was a member of Centre West Baptist Church and a veteran of the Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, and a brother, Harold Darryl. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Meadors and husband, John, of Fredericksburg and Julie Eldridge and husband, Jay, of Kelseyville, Calif.; two granddaughters, Angela Smith and husband, Ronald, of Fredericksburg and Kelly Bradshaw and husband, Paul, of Waco; two great-grandsons, Gabriel Smith of Fredericksburg and Luke Bradshaw of Waco; and his caregivers, Margaret Adams, Judy Gaeto and Mark and Betty Corley. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis by Patterson Greer Funeral Home. Mrs. McDowell was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Harmon County to Charlie and Thursey Jolly Sullivan. She married Carl "Jack" McDowell in Childress, Texas, and they had one son.
