Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Ann's Catholic Church of Canyon with the Rev. Scott Raef, pastor of Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit of Tulia, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pauline Parker Albracht was born March 26, 1922, in Perryton to George and Dora Gum Parker. She married Jerry Albracht on June 24, 1942, in Clovis, N.M. They moved to Canyon in 2003, and she was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Jerry Albracht of Amarillo; two daughters, Kay Bell of Amarillo and Gwynn Broome of Lubbock; two sons, Richard Albracht of Sacramento, Calif., and Terry Albracht of Springtown; three sisters, Jerrye Jackson of Amarillo, Anna Conklin of Hereford and Mary Roos of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Heath Bell and Amy Newton, both of Canyon, Jamie Halsey of Roseville, Calif., Kacy Wallis of Rio Linda, Calif., Spencer Albracht of Celina, Ryan Broome of San Marcos and Jordon Broome of San Francisco; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob, Rodey, Sarah, Maggie and Siena Bella. "Bill" Cox, DVM, 59, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Kevin Oakley of Mescalero Baptist Church officiating. Bill was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1965. He went on to receive a bachelor's and a Master of Science from West Texas State University. In 1973, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. In 1973, Bill moved to Independence, Kan., to practice with Dr. Robert Hayes. Bill returned to Amarillo in 1974 to open his private practice on South Western Street. Cox Veterinary Services served Amarillo and the surrounding communities for more than 30 years. He was beloved by his family, and will be sorely missed by his numerous friends. Bill was a horseman his entire life. In the early '70s he was a member of the Randall County Sheriff's Posse. Over the years he has been an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association, American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He was one of the founding members of the Texas Quarter Horse Association and served on the Board of Directors. Raising a good racehorse was one of the true joys of his life. Bill was also an avid runner and tennis player. He won or placed highly in countless charity footraces in the Amarillo area over the years and was a member of the 1999 "National Champion" Tascosa Country Club Tennis Team. He was preceded in death by his father, W. Ronald Cox; his mother, Mary Prien Cox; and a sister, Penny Cox. Survivors include a son, Ronald A. Cox and wife, Roper; two grandsons, Rhoan and Rowdy Cox; a sister, Becky Salazar; and his fiancee, Debora Sietz. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Comanche Trail Church of Christ with Loran Harper, minister of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home Osage Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St. Fay was born May 6, 1949, in Dimmitt, and married Larry Gress in 1992. She was a wonderful wife, and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and enjoyed racing. She was heavily involved in her work at Bruckner's, where she was currently employed. She will be missed very much. Survivors include her husband, Larry Gress; two sons, Jim Gress and fiancee, Mollie Barney, and Bobby Gress and wife, Tiffany, all of Amarillo; her parents, Bill and Polly Avent of Amarillo; four sisters, Kay Tipping and husband, Bobby, Jan Burchfield and husband, Lynn, Terri Cox and husband, Chuck, all of Amarillo, and Polly Ann Gifford and husband, Ed, of Sugar Land; a brother, Jack Avent and wife, Pat, of Follett; a sister-in-law, Jane Mosier and husband, Gordon, of Terre Haute, Ind.; two grandsons, Tyler Gress and Braden Gress, both of Amarillo; nine nephews; a niece; two great-nephews; and a great-niece. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Tommy D. Carnahan HEREFORD - Tommy D. Carnahan, 72, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darren Skinner officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the Hereford High School JROTC. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Carnahan was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Miami, Texas, the son of Clarence and Wilma Carnahan. He was a veteran, having served in the Marines during the Korean conflict. Mr. Carnahan married Margaret Phillips on June 16, 1954, in Ruidoso, N.M., and was in the farming, ranching and real estate business. He was a member of Hereford Masonic Lodge No. 849, the Khiva Shriners, past deacon of First Christian Church and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hereford. Mr. Carnahan's greatest passions were his God, his wife and his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a son, David Carnahan and wife, Kaye, of Amarillo; two daughters, Jeanne Langford and husband, Steve, and Amy Scott and husband, Jay, all of Hereford; two brothers, Robert Carnahan of Corpus Christi and James Carnahan of Dumas; a sister, Bettie Jo Anderson of Alamogordo, N.M.; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Arnold was born July 23, 1956, in Tulia to Walter and Gail Arnold. He married Pat Heckman of Claude on Nov. 24, 1973. He worked as a cowboy in feed lots and ranches throughout Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma. Survivors include his parents; three children, Monica Whisenant, Jay Arnold and John Arnold; three grandchildren; a brother; two sisters; and his grandmother. Miss Marshall was born May 30, 1909, in Quanah to John Calvin and Emma Ozella Talbott Marshall. She was a longtime resident of Quanah, a retired school teacher and a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a sister, Katherine Marshall of Oklahoma City. Mrs. Teague was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Las Vegas, N.M., to Peter Stuart and Hattie Milissia Sperry Allingham. She married Loel Teague on July 24, 1971, in Las Vegas, and they lived in Perryton, Altus, Okla., Adkins, Ark., and Foley, Ala., before making Booker their home. Survivors include a sister, Ora Ginter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bessie Nell Jackson Clark DUMAS - Bessie Nell Jackson Clark, 59, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Dan Turner of Dumas, longtime family friend, assisting. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Clark was born April 18, 1946, in Amarillo. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1964. She was a Moore County resident all her life. She married Howard Clark on Feb. 25, 1966. She was a homemaker and served for 35 years as organist for First Baptist Church in Dumas. She taught private piano lessons for more than 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Dean Jackson. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Brent Clark and wife, Nicole, of Dumas and Brad Clark and wife, Christi, of Amarillo; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nathalee and L.S. Brown of Dumas; a brother, Dwight Jackson and wife, Pam, of Fritch; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ida Barnes and husband, Gene, and Pam Lamberth and husband, Kerry, all of New Braunfels; and four grandchildren, Brennan, Brette, Jackson and Madison. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jesse Torres PLAINVIEW - Jesse Torres, 64, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, in Lubbock. Mr. Torres was born July 28, 1941, in Balinger, and moved to Plainview in 1948. He lived in Plainview most of his life and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. Survivors include four daughters, Belen Torres, Beatrice Torres, Anna Maria Torres and Andrea Monkres, all of Plainview; his mother, Juana Ramos of Plainview; two brothers, Lucio Ramos and Manuel Ramos, both of Plainview; four sisters, Maria Ramos of Amarillo, Felipa Zepeda of Madison, Wisc., Sulema Munoz of Austin and San Juana Estrada of Plainview; and seven grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- San Juana Olvera NAZARETH - San Juana Olvera, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005. Prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the church with the Rev. Ken Keller officiating and Deacon Jerome Brockman assisting. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mrs. Olvera was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Mercedes. She married Tiburcio "Butch" Olvera in 1944 in Raymondville. Survivors include three daughters, Carolina Bermea of Nazareth, Margaret Gamboa of Plainview and Rachel Presas of Dimmitt; four sons, Pedro Olvera of Tye, David Olvera of Nazareth, Ruben Olvera of Dimmitt and Juan Davila of McAllen; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and six great-great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret "Granny Marg" Collins MULESHOE - Margaret "Granny Marg" Collins, 90, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Monty Leavell and Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Margaret was born Aug. 18, 1915, in Knoxville, Tenn., and moved to Muleshoe with her folks, Carl and Bertha Roach, in 1925. She married Bill Collins on Oct. 31, 1931. Bill and Margaret owned and operated Bill's and Muleshoe Cafe on Main Street from 1933 to 1954. They opened Bill's Drive-in on Highway 84 in 1956 and retired in 1979. Margaret and Bill cooked thousands of Bill's Specials and their famous hamburger steak with grilled onions during the 50 years of serving Muleshoe. Margaret loved being "Granny Marg" to her own grandchildren and always got a smile on her face when all their friends and their kids called her "Granny Marg." She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Progress Circle, a 50- year member of Muleshoe Chapter 792 Order of Eastern Star, served as Worthy Matron 1950-1951 and was past president of Senior Citizens of Muleshoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son-in-law, Donald Harrison; and two sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Billie Jeter of Hereford, Bobbie Harrison of Muleshoe and Bettie Richardson of Austin; seven grandchildren, Earl and Jessica Jeter of Mustang, Okla., Nanette Dollar, Brent and Cindy Jeter and Brad Jeter, all of Canyon, Donald Glen and Laura Harrison of Yukon, Okla., Greg and Loraine Harrison of Decatur and Margaret Lynne and Mark Paul of Plano; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters.
