Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Carey Cemetery in Carey by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mrs. Britain was born April 4, 1928, in Childress and was raised there and graduated from Childress High School. She moved to Amarillo from Childress in 2001. She married C.M. Britain on Feb. 25, 1945, in Childress. Mrs. Britain was a homemaker and loved to cook and sew for family. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Childress for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Cheri Chapman of Amarillo and Brenda Taylor of Childress; four brothers, Aron Hill and Ronnie Hill, both of Oregon, Jerry Hill of California and Ted Hill of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren, John Chapman and wife, Whitney, and Heidi Littau, all of Amarillo, and Amie Kelm of Albuquerque, N.M.; and four great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Henderson was born in Erick, Okla., in 1940 and was a resident of Amarillo since 1965. She was a member of Chapparal Hills Baptist Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Steele was born March 24, 1918, in Ada, Okla. She was a resident of Amarillo since 1937. She was a homemaker who also liked to fish and travel. She was a member of Wild Rose Lodge and was a member of Living Way Fellowship for the past two years. She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Steele Sr. in 2003; a daughter, Phillis Dawn Rogers; a sister, Ida Marie Cooper; and a brother, Terrance B. Sarrett. Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Renfroe of Amarillo and Mickey L. Williams of Farmington, N.M.; a son, Jesse B. Steele Jr. of New Boston; a brother, Louis George Sarrett Jr. of Amarillo; a sister, Ruby Carver of Canyon; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- granchildren. Eastern St., Amarillo, TX 79118. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zachary B. Weir Zachary B. Weir, 15, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005. Graveside services were Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Rabbi Lawrence Jackofsky officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Zach was born Feb. 18, 1990, in Amarillo. He was a sophomore at Amarillo High School. He also attended St. Andrew's Day School in Amarillo and Milken Community High School in Los Angeles. He was an excellent student who loved to read, learn, play guitar and interactive video games and hang out with his many friends, including Jameson F., John U., Matthew D., John S., Tyler M., Colby C. and Samm C. Zach became a Bar Mitzvah on May 10, 2003, at the Stephen Wise Synagogue in Los Angeles. He loved to share his knowledge, particularly of Judaism, with others and he taught younger children at the Temple B'Nai Israel religious school. He was truly a wonderful young man, an excellent son, a loving brother and a caring friend. He touched the lives of many people and will missed by all. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jaime; and grandparents, Mary Frances and Grady Weir. Survivors include his father, David L. Weir of Amarillo; two brothers, David S. Weir and his wife, Rebecca, of West Lafayette, Ind., and Patrick S. Weir of Tulsa, Okla., and his fiancee, Mackenzie Hill, of Amarillo; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jules Leshansky of Tucson, Ariz.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Dupree was born Feb. 19, 1975, in Hereford, the son of Johnny Dupree and Kathy Smith Holly. Gaylen attended grade school in Hereford until the family moved. He liked auto mechanics and loved to cook. He was employed as a chef at a restaurant in Tomball. He will be missed and lovingly remembered especially the good times spent with his family, friends and his seven cousins. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Gutierrez was born June 24, 1910, in Cadereyta Jiminez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to Pilar Gutierrez and Petra Campos Gutierrez. She worked for Dr. Joe Horn for many years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include a brother, Esteban C. Gutierrez of Plainview. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- John William "Johnny Bill" Hermesmeyer CLARENDON - John William "Johnny Bill" Hermesmeyer, 77, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, in Amarillo. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. today in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Groom with the Rev. Jose Palathara officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Groom by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Hermesmeyer was one of seven children born to Frank and Nell Ruyle Hermesmeyer. He grew up loving the great outdoors on the Hermesmeyer Brothers Ranch at Jericho. He was an expert horseman, breaking and training horses at a young age. He worked along with his brother, Hunk, helping local ranchers round up and ship cattle when he was young. He enjoyed sports, especially football, which he played in high school. He served in the U.S. Army in the signal corps at Fort Gordon, Ga., during the Korean conflict. He returned home to Jericho to operate the ranch, and also worked for Montie Johnson and Les Darcy. He was active in community services and served as a director of the Clarendon Outdoor Entertainment Association since 1964. He was a member of Southwest Cattle Raisers Association for many years. He married Eva Lee Farr on June 21, 1968. Johnny Bill will always be in the heart of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cindy Foster and husband, Brett, of Borger; a son, Shawn Hermesmeyer of Borger; six grandchildren, Courtney, Crystal, Brody, Brady, Chad and Mickey; a brother, Phillip Hermesmeyer and wife, Jerry, of Jericho; two sisters, Pauline Kline of Panhandle and Joan Gulde of Amarillo; a nephew that they raised, Bill Hermesmeyer and wife, Carolyn, of Panhandle; and a host of nieces and nephews. She married Jesus Ramirez in May 1934 in Mexico. Mrs. Woodward was born Dec. 29, 1914, in Odin, Ill. She married Jesse Kell in 1932, and he died in 1970. In 1952, she married Ted Woodward; he died in 1966. She married Paul Jones in 1976; he died in 1994. She was a restaurant owner and attended First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nell Pursley, and a grandson, Ricky Cook. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Wright was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Archer County to Norman and Lillian Taylor. He served in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945 and was a farmer for many years before moving to Amarillo five years ago. Survivors include two nieces. Mrs. Coyner was born Jan. 22, 1967, in Olney, Ill., to Jerl B. and Linda Sifers Stevenson.
