Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Davis was a native of Muskogee, Okla., and came to Amarillo in 1975 from Roaring Springs. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include six sons, Rudy Davis and Freddy Buckingham, both of Amarillo, Sam Davis of Muskogee, Kenneth Davis of Houston, James Davis of Elk City, Okla., and Bobby Davis of San Antonio; two daughters, Linda White of Amarillo and Jean Brown of Anchorage, Alaska; and a sister, Blanche Johnson of Crosbyton. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Northern Godbolt Sr. Northern Godbolt Sr., 94, of Amarillo died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hill, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Godbolt was born Jan. 8, 1911, in Crystal City, Fla. He grew up and attended public school in Worthington Springs, Fla. He married Johnnie Mae Weeks in Worthington. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and recieved an honorable discharge. After his military service he moved to Gainesville, Fla. In 1960 he moved to New Mexico and in 1963 he came to Amarillo. He married Melissia Miller in Amarillo. He was a concrete contractor and worked part-time as a security officer at the VA Hospital. He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee, President of the Brotherhood and Church Treasurer. He was preceded in death by his first wife; five brothers; and a sister. Survivors include his loving wife, Melissia; six sons, Northern Godbolt Jr., Deacon George Melvin Godbolt and wife, the Rev. Youlonda, Johnnie Lee Godbolt and wife, Lucille, and Jehova Lee Godbolt, all of Gainesville, Dr. Eli Goldbolt and wife, Teresa, of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and the Rev. David Andrew Godbolt and wife, Priscilla, of Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Johnnie Mae Jones and husband, James, of Gainesville and Mari "Peaches" Godbolt of Atlanta; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simon Quesada Simon Quesada, 46, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005. Mr. Quesada was born in Corpus Christi and lived in Amarillo for 12 years. He was a carpenter by trade. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Salcedo Quesada; two daughters, Amanda Quesada and Janie Ramos, both of Amarillo; five sisters, Irene Quesada of Corpus Christi, Francis DeLaCruz, Linda DeLaCruz, Rosa Jaime and Gloria Quesada, all of Dallas; two brothers, Gilbert Quesada and Jose Quesada, both of Dallas; and six grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Audrey Lee Lamborn Rhodes Audrey Lee Lamborn Rhodes, 86, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tascosa Road with Bishop Pat Mullin officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Rhodes was born April 16, 1919, in Carson County to James Chester and Ethel Jane Jameson Lamborn. Her parents were pioneers who homesteaded in Carson County. She graduated from Panhandle High School in 1937. After graduating from Panhandle she earned a degree from West Texas Normal College. She taught at Phillips, Borger and Highland Park schools. She later became a public librarian for the Amarillo Public Library. Mrs. Rhodes was a scholar of genealogical history. Survivors include two daughters, Darla Staley and husband, Daryl, of Quincy, Ind., and Levona Kay Anderson and husband, Bill, of Round Rock; and three granddaughters, Katie, Shawna and Ashley Anderson. "Sonny" Vernon, 87, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker, associate pastor of St. Paul United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Vernon was born in Waco. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1936 and attended Texas Tech University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II in the African and Pacific theaters. He was in the first unit to land in Africa. He was a ladies' clothing salesman in the Dallas area and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golf and all of his friends at the Donut Shop. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack B. Vernon. Survivors include a sister, Mary "Sis" L. Ritter of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4317 W. Interstate 40 or to the charity of choice. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Doris Dobbs CANYON - Doris Dobbs, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Dreamland Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Don McDonald, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Canyon, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Doris Dobbs was born June 4, 1924, in Mason to John Alva and Jessie Gamel Lindsay. She married L. R. Dobbs in 1946 in Lamesa. They lived in Mason then moved to Colorado where they ranched. Later they moved to Muleshoe and farmed, and in 1961 they started Dobbs Corp. (Dobbs floating water pumps). They moved to Canyon in 1964 and continued to operate the Dobbs Corp. until present. She enjoyed baseball, bridge games, gardening, walks with friends and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999; two sisters, Peggy L. Davis and Effie White; and a brother, Jack Lindsay. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie of Canyon; a granddaughter, Tiffany of Canyon; a grandson, Lance of Canyon; a great-grandson, Canon of Canyon; a brother, Clay Lindsay and wife, Deloris, of Mason; several nieces and nephews; and a special canine friend, Pudger. Mr. Bohlar was born Jan. 19, 1930, to Charlie and Mary Bohlar in Collingsworth County. He married Jean Cannon on May 23, 1949, in Canadian. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruth; two sons, David Brunson of Muleshoe and Perry Brunson of Silverton; two daughters, Patricia Maupin and Mary Ward, both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Daugherty was a resident of Miami for the past 40 years. He was the owner and operator of Daugherty Insurance Agency and was a member of First Christian Church of Miami. Survivors include a son, Rhett Daugherty of Hudson Oaks; a daughter, Robin Zella of Nixon; his parents, Ed and Phyllis Daugherty of DeCordova Bend; a brother, Wayne Daugherty of Austin; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Rozell was born June 30, 1927, in Quanah to Curtis R. and Vera Driver Biggs. She married Harvey L. Rozell on Nov. 26, 1946, in Quanah. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jana Quisenberry of Quanah; two sons, Roger Rozell of Quanah and Mark Rozell of League City; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Hughes was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Cloud Chief, Okla., to Walter and Rillie Rhodes. She married Claude C. Cox in 1934 in Carnegie, Okla., and later married J.W. "Jim" Hughes in 1980 in Wheeler. Survivors include three sons, Claude Cox Jr. of Blanket, James Glenn Cox of Smyer and Marvin Cox of Amarillo; two daughters, Joyce Perkins of Wheeler and Jeraldine Pride of Arlington; a brother, J.B. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Keller was born March 9, 1927, in Pratt, Kan., to John and Rada Center Keller. He moved to Dalhart in 1939 and began working on the railroad, where he worked for 42 years. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Keller of Dalhart; three sons, John Keller of Jackson, Miss., Tom Hyso of Albuquerque, N.M., and Jim Hyso of Trinidad, Colo.; two daughters, Fada Keller of Fort Worth and Gwen Green of Dallas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fidel Barraza Samaniego BORGER - Fidel Barraza Samaniego, 60, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, in Amarillo. Mr. Samaniego was born May 4, 1945, in Tejamin, Mexico. He married Andrea De La Cruz on Nov. 30, 1969, in Mexico. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Benito Barraza of Amarillo and Jose Barraza of Borger; a daughter, Esther Barraza of Borger; three brothers, Francisco Barraza and Guillermo Barraza, both of Borger, and Manuel Barraza of Edinburg; two sisters, Rosita Reyes of Reynosa, Mexico, and Amparo Samaniego of Borger; and three grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Floyd H. Neill Jr. VEGA - Floyd H. Neill Jr. died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Vega. Mr. Neill was born Sept. 20, 1933, in Loraine to Mayme Arnold Neill and Floyd H. Neill. He moved to Monahans at an early age and graduated from high school there. He graduated from Sul Ross University in Alpine with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Arts and a Master's Degree from East Texas State College in Commerce. He also served in the Air Force for four years from 1954 to 1958 and was stationed with the Strategic Air Command in Amarillo, Homestead, Fla., and South Africa. He was employed by Texaco in Midland for 15 years and for J. M. Huber Corp. in Oklahoma City and Amarillo in the Oil & Gas Division from 1976 until his retirement in 1995. He moved to Vega in 1998. Survivors include a brother, John Neill of San Angelo; a sister, Donna of San Angelo; and his friend, Janette Neill of Amarillo. She married Leo Lopez on Nov. 29, 1981, in Speculator, N.Y. Mr. Palmer was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Guymon and attended Guymon schools, graduating with the GHS Class of 1974. He served in the Marine Corps for four years and was a resident of Boyd for two years. Mr. Warren was born in Howard County, graduated from Coahoma High School and received bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Tech. He was a member of the 4-H Foundation, the Extension Marine Advisory Board, the Texas Association of Extension 4-H Agents and the Texas County Agricultural Agents Association. Survivors include his wife, Judy Warren of Mission; a daughter, Michelle Warren of Conroe; three sons, Chad Warren of Austin, Brad Warren of College Station and Ric Warren of Snook; his mother, Faye Warren of Coahoma; and a sister, Barbara Goswick of Snyder.
