Ross Chester P. Ross, 84, of Amarillo died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005. Graveside memorial services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Ross was born Nov. 4, 1920, to Herbert and Louise Ross. He retired from Chicago Rock Island Railroad after 32 years as an engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Brown; and a daughter, Sally Ross Sepkowitz. Survivors include a brother, Marion Ross of Bartlesville, Okla.; a daughters, Patricia Ross of Palm Desert, Calif.; a grandson, David Sepkowitz; two great- grandchildren, Ashleigh and Brian Sepkowitz of Alto, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews. Stockdale, 87, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Rick Mathis officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Forrest was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Burlington, Iowa, to Sidney Wade and Anna Rolf Stockdale. He married Mary Lou Yaggy on Sept. 7, 1946, in Wichita, Kan. He served in the Naval Reserve before serving with the U.S. Army during World War II. During WWII, he served in the Pacific Theater on the islands of Hawaii, Angar and Peleliu. After WWII, he enrolled at the University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in business in 1949. They then moved to Raton, N.M., and later to Amarillo in 1953 where he was a territory manager for Lennox Industries. Shortly afterward, he formed Amarillo Air Conditioning and Sheet Metal Inc. He enjoyed more than a 50-year association with Lennox as an independent Lennox dealer. Memberships included West Amarillo Christian Church, Bivins Board Foundation, Tascosa Kiwanis Club, AMBUCS, Llano Cemetery Board, Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, and Better Business Bureau. He coached Kids Inc. sports and Y- Baseball. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Stockdale; three daughters, Kathy Thomas and husband, Lewis, Ann Conkling and husband, Jim, and Becky Booth and husband, Richard, all of Amarillo; a son, Sid Stockdale and wife, Janetta, of Aledo; two sisters, Phyllis Anglemier of San Mateo, Calif., and Martha Hock of Fort Atkinson, Wisc.; a brother, Jim Stockdale of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, John Conkling and wife, Melissa, Michael Conkling, Katie Booth McGraw and husband, Wilson, Sarah Booth, Emily Stockdale, Will Stockdale, Anna Stockdale, Alex Stockdale and Neal Thomas and wife, Robin, and their three children. Mr. Garcia played futbol in Mexico and was an independent business owner. He married Magdalena Zepeda on Jan. 20, 1974. Survivors include his wife; a son Rene Garcia of Amarillo; three daughters, Laura Garcia and Julia Garcia, both of Amarillo, and Brenda Garcia of Denver; his father, Rene Garcia of Juarez, Mexico; five sisters; four brothers; and nine grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Martha Nell Auldridge FRITCH - Martha Nell Auldridge, 54, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harbor Bay Lake Meredith with David Thompson of Wichita Falls officiating. Arrangements are by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mrs. Auldridge married Dale Auldridge on Sept. 11, 1980, in Amarillo. She was a resident of Fritch for one year, having moved from Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Jennifer Denise Collins and Martha Patrice Wright, both of Amarillo, and Mary Darlene Wright of Montana; two brothers, Ronald Williams of Tyler and Patrick Shelton of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- William Chauncey Hommel CLARENDON - William Chauncey Hommel, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church of Clarendon with the Rev. Tom Garmon, pastor, and the Rev. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church of Clarendon, officiating. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Hommel was born Dec. 12, 1930, in Clarendon and was a lifetime resident of Donley County. He married Laura Ann Thompson on June 2, 1956, in Clarendon. He was self-employed in ranching, the oil and gas business and as a property appraiser. Earlier in his life, he was very active in the Jaycees, where he was recognized as the outstanding area VP, the Texas outstanding local secretary and received the George Wilson Award. He was a former member of the Clarendon College Board of Regents and Clarendon City Council and was a member of TAAO and KIROS. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Skelton Fellowship Class and the Mission Committee. He was a member of the Clarendon Masonic Lodge No. 700 and the Khiva Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Gladys Hommel; a son, William Kyle Hommel; and a sister, Geraldine Robertson. Survivors include his wife, Ann Hommel; two daughters, Cindy Reid of Austin and Cathy Jo Holland and husband, Dallas, of Amarillo; two sons, Gene Hommel and wife, Kathy, and Frank Hommel and wife, Terri, all of Clarendon; two sisters, Frankie Henson of Clarendon and Lois Marie Moore of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family will hold private memorial services. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Simon Teichmann was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Bucharest, Rumania. Growing up in Vienna, Simon had to flee Austria with his parents in 1938 before the Nazi occupation. After living in Argentina for 20 years, he immigrated to New York City, with his first wife, Doreen, and sons, Robert and Gerard, where he worked as an international comptroller for Revlon and then Johnson & Johnson. In the 1970s he moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he owned and operated the Edelweiss Restaurant for 15 years. Simon took pleasure in travel, fine food, chess, music, literature and nature. His outlook on life was wry, yet many adored him. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Gail; three sons, Robert Teichmann, Gerard Teichmann and Curtis Simmons; and two grandchildren, June and Lily. Paquita Cosette and Maggie Maggie Magnolia will also miss his presence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in J.F. Floyd Mortuary Greenlawn Chapel with the Rev. Michael Bradley and the Rev. Billy Millwood officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Born March 26, 1910, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Peter I. and Exzony Robbins Elm and the husband of 55 years to Maggie Louise Willis Elm. He was retired from the textile industry, attended Clifton First Baptist Church and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son; four brothers, Morgan, Howard, Ambers and Early Elm; and a sister, Effie Mae Pressley. Survivors include a son, J. P. Elm Jr. and wife, Marcelle, of Gaffney; a daughter, Mary Alice Kohn and husband, Joey, of Spartanburg; a sister, Onie Bishop of Amarillo, Texas; five grandchildren, Philip Kohn, Justin Kohn, Misty Lawson, Fred Linder Jr. and Brian Linder; and a great-grandchild, Austin Lawson. Mrs. Pease was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Decatur, Ill., to Cecil Payne and Daisy Brown. She lived in Chandler since 1970, moving from Amarillo. She was a retired office manager and bookkeeper. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband, Rex C. Pease; two daughters, Reese A. Ludwig and husband, Walter, of Dallas, and Cambra E. Cassin of Hawkins; a sister, Carrell Sloan and husband, Harold; and two grandchildren. Jowell, 96, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Buchanan West Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam, with the Rev. Wade Lackey and the Rev. B.H. Kendrick officiating. Private burial will be in Lakeland Hills Cemetery in Burnet County by Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes Inc. Kingsland. Mr. Jowell was born Oct. 5, 1909, in Hereford in Deaf Smith County to George Ratliff and Eugenia Birdie Jowell. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart. He married Wilda Womble on Feb. 22, 1951, in Hereford. He was a member of the Hereford Volunteer Fire Dept. for 29 years and a farmer, until retiring and moving to Kingsland in 1973. He was a member of Buchanan West Baptist Church, whose membership he loved dearly. He and wife, Wilda, enjoyed traveling and collecting and repairing antiques. He spent many hours at his favorite pastime, making leaded glass pieces to be given to friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 3, 2001; three sons, Douglas Womble in 1967, Robert Womble in 2000 and Leldon Womble in 2004; four brothers, J.T. Womble, Paul Jowell, George Jowell and Henry Jowell; four sisters, Corinne Neely, Inez Brown, Mabel Randall and Louise Robertson. Survivors include a son, Lewis Womble and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo; two daugters-in-law, Sandy Womble of Amarillo and Dolores Womble of Fort Worth; a niece, Kay Cortello of Marble Falls; a nephew, Bud Jowell and wife, Carol, of Hereford; and numerous nieces and nephews residing in California. Gard CLAYTON, N.M. - John M. Gard, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Gard was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Gladstone to O.P. Gard and Mary Wenz Gard. He served on the Tri-State Hereford Breeders' Association board of directors, helped organize the Union County Farm and Livestock Bureau in 1947 and was the organization's first president. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wanda Gard; two daughters, Mary Coffman of Dimmitt, Texas, and June Sinclair of Clayton; three sons, Marvin Gard of Santa Fe, Ernest Gard of Clovis and John Gard Jr. of Clayton; a sister, Margaret Atwood of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.
