Berry Jr. Joe H. Berry Jr., 76, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Central Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Berry was born to Joe H. Berry and Donia L. Berry on June 5, 1929, in Dallas. He married Dorothy Ray on Aug. 26, 1960, in Ennis. Mr. Berry was a commercial artist and an editorial writer for the Dallas Morning News and the Lancaster Leader. He moved from Dallas to Amarillo in 1998. Survivors include his wife. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don Campbell Don Campbell, 69, of Amarillo died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Bob Thomas, chaplain of Odyssey Health Care, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Campbell served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He attended West Texas State University. He married Jeanie Downs in Amarillo in 1961. He was a lifelong musician who played in many bands in Amarillo over the years, including most recently, "Country Junction." He owned and operated the Cattleman's Caf and Uncle Don's Autos in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a special niece, DaLana Westmoreland in 1998. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Denise Campbell of Amarillo and Tracy Campbell Bartley of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons, Rusty Campbell and Randy Campbell, both of Amarillo; three nieces, Kelly Jasper Thompson, Sharon Derryberry and Sunday Derryberry; three nephews, Tommy VanCamp, Paul Don Campbell and Bernie Derryberry; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clay D. She was a member of Word of Faith Ministries and an active participant in the prison ministry. Ms. Vidaurre was self-employed as a crafter and as a photographer. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Dean was born Aug. 2, 1931, in Louisville, Ky., to Harry and Pearl Whalin. She moved to Amarillo in 1965. In the 70s, Mary was known as Mamma Snuffy in the C.B. world. In the early 80s, she worked for refreshment vending at Owens/Corning for many years. Before retiring, she worked as a senior aide for the Amarillo Independent School District and at the Texas Unemployment Commission. She loved her dogs and cat, especially a little dog named Uno. She opened her home for many family and friends who needed a place to live. She will be missed by so many lives that she touched. She married Cmdr. Earle G. Hallberg on June 14, 1944, in New York. He preceded her in death in 1988. She was an active member of TED and Antique Club. She married Leonard C. Waggoner in Camp Rock, La., on Jan. 3, 1944. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ and a Bible study teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents John Wilson and Rosa Smith Wilson; a sister, Ethyl Mae Wilson; and two brothers, Dr. Jack Wilson and Chad Wilson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rosalyn Boatman and husband, Joe, of Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Don R. Waggoner and wife, Frances, of Houston and Jon R. Hughes St. Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 28, 1972, in Hale Center, and the family moved to Amarillo when he was one year old. "Big T" attended Margaret Wills and Sam Houston and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1992. He was a member of the Palo Duro Dons football team. She moved to Canyon in 1938 and married John Richard "Dick" Barrett on Sept. 24, 1950. She retired from West Texas A&M University after 26 years as coordinator of computer operations. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, Bible Study Class, Crusaders Sunday School Class and First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; three sons, John E. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Fairlanes Baptist Church. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Hendrickson passed away Thursday, Nov. 3 at SCCI Hospital in Amarillo after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hendrickson was born March 18, 1922, in Tulsa, Okla., and was a resident of Phillips for 38 years and a resident of Fritch for 19 years. He worked for Phillips Petroleum for 38 years at the Philtex Plant. He married Glenna June Blackburn on May 27, 1946, in Cherryvale, Kan. Richard was well-known as a songwriter, composer, guitarist and musician. When he was 13, his mother bought him a Carson J. Robison guitar which he learned to play. By the time he was 16, he became a member of "The Melodiers Band" performing in Oklahoma. Richard was in the 19th Combat Engineers from 1940 to 1945. During that time, he was overseas for 34 months in the 2nd Corps, 5th Army in England, Ireland, Scotland, North Africa, Sicily and Italy. Seven battle stars were among the medals he was awarded during his tour of duty. Then later in 2002, he was awarded the Purple Heart 58 years later by Mac Thornberry in a special presentation in Amarillo. After World War II, Richard played the bass fiddle with "The Circle Arrow Boys" and various other bands in the Texas Panhandle. During his music career, he produced his own records and his last accomplishment was a CD entitled, "Again at Twilight Time." In addition to his many musical performances, he also published five music books which have been sold all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Brown Hendrickson and Gladys Irene Tabor; three sisters, Geneva Hadaller, Ruby Palmer Klawitter and Pauline Coleman; and two brothers, Bob Hendrickson and Ronnie Tabor. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Glenna Hendrickson-Amerman and husband, Rodney, of Borger and Mona Hendrickson-Fannon and husband, Lyn, of Fritch; a son, Dan Hendrickson and wife, Glenda, of Abilene; three brothers, Jack Tabor of Perryton, Tom Hendrickson of Yuma, Ariz., and Bill Hendrickson of Eugene, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, Shane Henderson, Shawn Henderson, Rodney Amerman II, Joshua Jacob Amerman, Clint Hendrickson, Christina Haskell, Audrey Clow, John Hendrickson, Monica Fannon and Lance Fannon; and 10 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Givens was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Teague. She married Jack Givens on April 18, 1941, in Clovis, N.M. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Kerr of Floydada; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Breland DUMAS - James Breland, 79, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Garrett, his nephew, officiating and the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, and the Rev. O.D. Bevill, his brother-in-law, assisting. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Breland was born July 24, 1926, in Seymour. He had been a Dumas resident since 1989. He graduated from Olton High School in 1941, the same year his father, Henry Gregg Breland, died. Thereafter, James cared for a younger sister, Anna Sue Breland and brother Bernard Breland. He was inducted into the armed service in 1944 and discharged in 1946. His duty was in occupational Japan. He married Edith Bevill on Oct. 27, 1951, in Clovis, N.M. In 1952, he began farming in Tulia. He also farmed in Claytonville for 15 years and moved to Gruver in 1967, continuing to farm. In 1989, he moved to Dumas and retired. He was a member of Tulia Lodge No. 733, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, VFW Post 9022 of Dumas, lifetime member of American Legion Post 224 of Dumas, member of First Baptist Church of Dumas and men's Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Arnold. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregg Breland and wife, Debbie, and Paul Breland, all of Dumas, a brother, Bernard Breland of Paris; and five grandchildren, Breanna, Zach, Trent, Dustin and Jacob. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery in Dozier by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Murry was born May 11, 1906, in Parker County to Alfred and Precious Rutledge. She married Frank James Murry on May 27, 1925, in Adell. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1987. Mrs. Murry had lived in the Dozier community since 1926. She was a nurse at Shamrock General Hospital for 20 years and worked at the Care Inn of Shamrock for 10 years. She was also preceded in death by two sons, James Alfred Murry and Mac Murry and a daughter, Sonna Endsley.
