Harris Mrs. J.A. Harris, 84, of Amarillo died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Canyons Retirement Community Chapel with Lee Walls officiating. Private burial will be in Childress Cemetery in Childress by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Harris married James A. Harris in Wellington in 1942. He passed away in 1968. She retired from Diamond Shamrock as a legal secretary. She was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Carol Diane Harris in 1949; and a son, James Miller Harris in 1996. Survivors include a son, Mike Harris of Clovis, N.M.; a brother, Gene Adams of Washington; four grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He had been a police officer in Fritch for several years and then worked for Star Paper Tube Co. in maintenance. He was a veteran of the Navy. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Bernard Cohen officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Raffkind married Gladys Solomon in Kansas City, Mo., on April 30, 1945. He was a sergeant for the Army Air Corps as a radio gunner on a B-24 and served 50 missions over Europe. He was owner of Bargain Siddy from 1945 to 1985 with his wife Gladys. He was a member of Temple B’Nai Israel. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marilyn Crenshaw and husband, Phil, of Houston and Barbara Chelf and husband, Richard, of Amarillo; a sister, Isabel Sanditen of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Daniel Raffkind of Amarillo and J.B. He was also an avid square dancer and called for several square dance clubs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dessie Woods; a brother, Alberta Woods; and a son, Jerry Allen Woods. Jones Area CLARENDON - Grady B. Jones, 93, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Darrell Burton, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Mr. Jones was born in Terrell County, Ark., on July 21, 1912, to Dan and Myra Jones. He married Pauline Cockerham on April 2, 1931, in Hollis, Okla. He was a citizen of Lelia Lake and Clarendon most of his life. He was a farmer. He also loved playing dominoes and raising game chickens. He and his wife have been married more than 74 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald Jones in 1994; and a daughter, Roberta Molder Lewis in 1995. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dan Lee “D.L.” Jones of Parachute, Colo., Bobby Ray Jones of Chandler, Troy Eugene Jones and wife, Carol, of Amarillo and Grady B.
