Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddy Helms, pastor, officiating and the Rev. Joann Black of El Reno, Okla., assisting. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Cruz was born Sept. 29, 1961, in Clinton, Okla., to Eugene White Thunder and Donna Mae Wheeler White Thunder. She married Victor Cruz on Jan. 11, 1983, in Concho, Okla. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Terrill Cruz and Rique Cruz, both of Wellington; three brothers, Bruce Bushy of Kingfisher, Okla., Tom White Thunder of Little Axe, Okla., and Tim White Thunder of St. Joseph, Mo.; and five sisters, Elouise Swallow, Diane Hawk, Daisy Rednose and Elsie Cruz, all of Kingfisher, and Phyllis Cruz of Wellington. Mr. Lorenz was born Jan. 11, 1922, in Giddings. He married Arlene Gibson on Feb. 3, 1949, in Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Lorenz of Amarillo, Daniel Lorenz of Plainview and Benjamin Lorenz of Winchester, Ky.; two brothers, Herman Lorenz of Lubbock and Marvin Lorenz of LaGrange; a sister, Gertrude Zoch of Austin; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edgar Owen Hubbard PAMPA - Edgar Owen Hubbard, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with the Rev. Jeff Taylor, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Hubbard was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Wheeler to V. B. & Etta Kate Hubbard. He graduated from Wheeler High School in 1951 and received a football scholarship to West Texas State University. He received a B.S. degree from West Texas State University in 1957 where he was a member of the T-Club. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving as a medic in Germany during the Korean conflict. He was employed by Santa Fe Railway for several years in Amarillo. He was a resident of Pampa for the past 4 years, moving from Canyon where he resided for 40 years. He was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Charles Hubbard and Gene Hubbard. Survivors include three sisters, Pat Johnson and husband, Bob, of Pampa, and Kay Barnard and Jo Richards, both of Amarillo; and his two beloved companions, Foxy and Puppy. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Rhoads, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Littlefield Memorial Park by Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Gladys was born Dec. 29, 1906, in Brown County. She moved to the Irick Community in Floyd County as a teenager and finished school there. She married John Earl Hampton on Dec. 12, 1931, in Clovis, N.M. They lived in Hale County until 1950 when they moved to Lamb County. She worked for the Littlefield ISD as a cafeteria worker. In 1960 they moved to Tucumcari, N.M., where she started an Avon business. They moved to Earth in 1963. They moved to Brackettville in 1967 and returned to Earth in 1977, where she lived until she moved to Dimmitt in 1994. Mr. Hampton died in September 1989. She loved working outdoors, gardening, canning, handcrafts, quilting and fishing. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Jeanette Hampton of Dimmitt; two daughters and sons-in-law, Twila and Darrell Sawyer of Springlake-Earth and Carolyn and Jerry Watts of Dimmitt; a sister, Cleo Long of Plainview; six grandchildren, Travis Hampton Jr., Johnny Hampton, Tonya Ethridge, Cary Sawyer, Kim Pond and Jeff Watts; 11 great-grandchildren, Shane Ethridge, Mindi McLain, Jordan Hampton, Wil Pond, Daniel Pond, Brittany Hampton, Steffanee Pond, Kayla Watts, Nicole Hampton, Jeffrey Pond and Colby Watts; and a great-great-granddaughter, Lexy Ethridge. Mrs. Miller was born May 4, 1930, in Clay Center, Kan., to Merna and Virgil Haws. She married Robert D. "Bob" Miller, who was in the military, and she spent 30 years as a military wife living in Indiana, Germany, California, Alaska, and New Mexico. Survivors include her husband of 58 years; two sons, Robert Miller Jr. of Lodi, Calif., and David Miller of Saugus, Calif.; three grandchildren; two great-grandsons; and a sister, Elizabeth Kent of Spanaway, Wash. Mrs. Patterson was born Jan. 19, 1931, to Paul and Julia Swantek Kolosky in Sturgeon Lake, Minn. She married Donald Patterson on Sept. 13, 1952, in Sturgeon Lake. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Debbie Houston of Clovis; two sons, Rocky Patterson of Tacoma, Wash., and Michael Patterson of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Bethesda Outreach Center with Jon Giese officiating. The body was donated to Texas Tech Medical Center in Lubbock. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Miller was born March 26, 1926, in Mexia and raised in Buffalo. He was a resident of the Panhandle for many years, moving to Amarillo from Dalhart in 1998. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He worked as a station agent for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years. He was also a commercial truck driver for more than 30 years. He attended Trinity Fellowship Church. After retirement, he was active with the Bethesda Outreach Center as well as the Coulter Road Baptist Church Wednesday night fellowship. Survivors include a daughter, Diane Heath and husband, Ed, of Amarillo; three sons, Bob Miller and wife, Maria, of Amarillo, Larry Miller and wife, Donna, of Portland, Ore., and Randy Miller and wife, Betty, of Canyon; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday in Knox City Cemetery in Knox City with Willard May of Round Rock and L. Arnold Watson of Abilene officiating. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in Bell Avenue Church of Christ with Glen Walton and John McMath officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Waggoner was born and graduated from high school in Knox City. Her profession was her family. She was an active member of former TED and Antique Club. She married Leonard C. Waggoner on Jan. 3, 1944, in Camp Polk, La. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ and a Bible study teacher for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wilson and Rosa Smith Wilson; her sister, Ethyl Mae Wilson; and two brothers, Dr. Jack Wilson and Chad Wilson. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rosalyn Boatman and husband, Joe, of Boulder, Colo.; two sons, Don R. Waggoner and wife, Frances, of Houston and Jon R. Waggoner of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo with the Rev. Terry Rothermich of Memorial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Midland officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Eldon Black was born Feb. 23, 1929, in Spearman to Walter Joseph and Myrtle Black. He spent most of his childhood in Dalhart. He received his undergraduate degree in music in 1953 at the University of North Texas and his Master of Music Education there in 1954, when he came to San Angelo College as Professor of Vocal Music. In 1970, he temporarily left San Angelo for Austin to obtain his Doctorate in Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and then returned to Angelo State University in 1973, where he remained until his retirement in 2003. His uniquely long tenure at ASU made him "senior professor" of the university. Dr. Black was a member of Texas Association of College Teachers, Music Teachers National Association, Texas Music Teachers Association and National Association of Teachers of Singing. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Joseph Black; his mother, Myrtle Black; and two brothers, W.J. "Dub" Black and Charles Otis Black. Survivors include a sister, Doris Arlene and Stanley Pleyer; other family, Hazel Black, Glen and Jamie Black, David and Luanne Black, Sarah, Matthew and Andrew, Gloria and Keith McDaniel, Kevin, Kenneth and Kathryn, Chris Black, Tara and James, Karen and Alan Watkins, Janet and Wesley Richins, Clay, Sean, Evan, Alec and Levi; his pets, Max and Mavericka; and numerous friends, colleagues and students.
