England McCoy Betty J. England McCoy, 66, of Amarillo died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rector Funeral Home Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St., with the Rev. Sherman Eastland officiating. Ms. McCoy was born in Turkey and raised in Borger. She worked for the Phillips Plant until her retirement to take care of her mother. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman J. England and her mother, Jessie Faye England. Survivors include a son, Glover "Reggie" McCoy; three daughters, Terrye Grant, Laurie Westbrook and Bonnie Barnett; two sisters, Elsie Denton and Wanda Cogdill; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Oak was born June 5, 1925, to Walter and Ella Hartt in Richland, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Oak in 1978. Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Harry Liggett officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Baird was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Halstead, Kan. Mr. Baird grew up in Sedan, Kan., served in the Navy during World War II, graduated from Emporia State University in 1948, received his master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Tulsa in 1951 and did an additional two years of post- graduate work from Indiana University. He worked as a clinical psychologist at the Osawatomie, Kan., State Hospital and as chief clinical psychologist and personnel director at the Evansville, Ind., State Hospital. Mr. Baird then moved from the clinical hospital setting to the industrial setting by serving as the program coordinator of the Mead Johnson Institute and then finished out his career by developing the psychology departments for the Mason & Hanger plants in Burlington, Iowa, and at Pantex. He also taught at West Texas A&M University, the University of Evansville and Southeast Iowa Community College. Mr. Baird enjoyed life to the fullest. Among his many passions was music, particularly Dixieland Jazz, beginning in the 1940s, when he played accordion with the country and western band of Lloyd Lawson and the Border Buckaroos, and continuing throughout his life. Mr. Baird enjoyed playing the French horn, guitar, banjo and organ. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, the former Laura Elizabeth Carrender; two sons, Brad Baird of Houston and Jeff Baird of Amarillo; two daughters-in- law, Carlotta Smith Baird of Houston and Nikki Deputy Baird of Amarillo; a sister, Shirley Liggett of Edmond, Okla.; and five grandchildren, Austin, Regan, Creighton, Hayden and Clark. Georgia St. Mrs. Stater was born March 20, 1930, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Arthur and Bertha Truitt. She married Jack R. Stater on Dec. 31, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa. They moved to Amarillo in 1982. Mrs. Stater enjoyed creative cooking for her family and friends. She was her family's inspiration, and to know her was to love her. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Douglas. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tonya King and husband, Mark, of Abernathy; a son, Lance Stater and wife, Kim, of Amarillo; two sisters, Anita Truitt and Leolive Gail, both of Ottumwa; two brothers, Jerry Truitt of Indianola, Iowa, and Duane Truitt of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Dana Ellis, Stephanie Ellis and Chad Stater; and a great-granddaughter, Jayden Stater. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Ms. Seale was born in Santa Anna and was a graduate of Monahans High School. She attended Hardin Simmons University. She moved to Amarillo from Abilene in 1954. After an auto accident in 1945, she was active in business from her home for many years. She broadcasted a Christian radio show from her home for many years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Burrell Seale and Pauline Webster Seale, and a brother, Tom Seale in 1987. Survivors include two sisters, Burline Selman and husband, J.V., of Amarillo, and Maurice Smith of Temple; two brothers, Richard "Dick" Seale and wife, Patsy, of Angel Fire, N.M., and Ray Seale and wife, Joyce, of Thorndale; and several nieces and nephews. Georgia St. Mr. Norrod was a pilot, boat captain, astronomer, marksman, salesman and business owner who lived for "The Deal." He loved children, nature, playing the piano, practical jokes, war movies and history. Jerry also opened and owned the Cinema 4 Theater in Pampa. Neveah was born July 6, 2005, in Dumas. She lived in Dumas all her life. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Calderon in 2001, and his grandfather, Adan Rodriguez in 2002. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Bell was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Pampa to C.J. and Eva Hess. They both died in 1976. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1951. She married Vernon Bell on Feb. 20, 1972, in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in 1997. She and her husband owned and operated V. Bell Oil Co. for 25 years. They had the first automatic car wash in Pampa, the first of several. Their greatest joy was their love to fish and hang out at the house on the coast. They were well known for their fabulous parties at their home in Pampa. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Murray in 2005, and a grandson, Daniel Scott Murray in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Scott Murray of Pampa and Michael Murray and wife, Valerie, of Belton; a son-in-law, Dan Marullo; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alicia, Trent, Connor, Cheyne, Justice, ChristiAna and AnnaMarie; two brothers, Bob Hess of Crane and Cecil Hess of Hineston, La.; two sisters, Charlie Gross of Beaver, Okla., and Marilyn Kelton of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws. Mr. Garcia was born Nov. 19, 1965, in Dimmitt, the son of Amelia and Aldolfo Garcia Sr. He married Brenda Ball on July 20, 1985, in Hereford. He was employed as the feed manager of Champion Feeders in Hereford for more than 21 years and was a member of Genesis Church. Brown CANADIAN - Charles E. Brown, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Matt Cook officiating. Arrangements are by Hughs Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born Nov. 2, 1920, in Channing to the late Mr. Charles C. Brown and Mrs. Edna Clark Brown. He was a graduate of Dumas High School. Charles farmed in the Middlewell Community 12 miles west of Dumas in Moore County. He married Ailsa Burns on May 31, 1941, in Clayton, N.M. She preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 2000. He moved to Canadian in 1945 from Dumas. Charles served on North Plains Electric Board in Perryton from 1965 to 1986 and was a past deacon of First Christian Church in Canadian. He was a rancher in Hemphill County from 1945 until 1986. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bus Brown and J.T. Brown, and a grandson, Lynn Charles Wilburn in 1973. He married Melba Swinford on Dec. 19, 1987, in Clovis. Mrs. Silvius was a 20-year resident of Dripping Springs. She was a member of Sunset Canyon Baptist Church, Dripping Springs Friendship Club, Sunset Canyon Coffee Club, supporter of Hill Country Senior Citizens and Dripping Springs Library. Edie enjoyed gardening, floral arranging and entertaining. She was known for her smile and her style! Edie was married to Howard Amick until his death in l974 and married to J. Paul Silvius until his death in 2000. Survivors include two sons, H. Rex Amick of Corpus Christi and Jim P. Amick of Austin; two daughters, Vivian A. Marshall of Dripping Springs and Karen J.
