Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Dale Moreland of the Church at Quail Creek officiating. Mrs. McKeever was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Wellington to Floyd Estes and Birdie Judd Francis. She worked for Ideal Foods and Western National Bank until she retired in 1991. She married Richard F. McKeever on Dec. 29, 1952. She loved to travel. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She was preceded in death by her husband in November 1996; her brother, Loren, in 1956; her father in 1977; her mother in 1997 and a son, Joe Michael Jones, in 1990. Survivors include five daughters, Debbie Bowerman and husband, Tom, Mary Bandy and husband, Rick, Beverly Butler, Sharon Secor and Lori Epps; a son, Richard K. McKeever and wife, Gail; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at Odyssey Hospice and BSA Hospital for the loving care that was provided to Mrs. McKeever. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeffery A. Neie Jeffery A. Neie, 50, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with Dick Marcear, pastor of The Church of Christ at the Colonies, officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Jeff was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Amarillo, was raised in Amarillo and was a 1973 graduate of Tascosa High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for Asarco for 28 years. Jeff loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride motorcycles, barbecue, and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Canadian River Regulators, and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Neie, in 1981; and his brother, Michael J. Neie in 2002. Survivors include his wife, Teresa of Amarillo; two daughters, Emily Ball and husband, Jamie, and Sara Treat and husband, Shawn, all of Amarillo; two stepdaughters, Kyla Ortiz and husband, Orlando, of Spearman and Lorrie Lewis and husband, Kevin, of Gilmer; his father, E.J. Neie of Edmond, Okla.; two sisters, Jeane Doane of Kansas City, Mo., and Cynthia Skipworth of San Antonio; nine grandchildren, Jaxyn, Tyler, Jordyn, Bradyn, Evan, Mallorie, Kamryn, Kohl and Matthew; five nieces; and his dog, Motley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert "Bob" Leo Sandlin Jr. Robert " Bob" Leo Sandlin Jr., 82, of Amarillo died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Dru Ferguson, associate priest at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Bob was born June 1, 1923, in Pittsburg to R.L. and Ora Sandlin. He served in Europe during World War II with Company K, 411th Infantry Regiment, 103rd Division, where he earned a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, combat infantryman's badge, and presidential citation before his discharge in 1945. He worked for International Harvester, Trucking Division, for more than 40 years. While working there, he held managerial positions in Amarillo, Lubbock, Houston, Kansas City, Dallas, Oakland, and the Chicago General Office; he retired in Dallas in 1981. He moved to Fredericksburg in 1987 and back to Amarillo in 2003. He was past president of Gillespie County Republicans, past board member and president of Needs Council in Fredericksburg, he was a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club, a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Adams Sandlin, and their daughter, Suzanne Sandlin Clarke; also by a wife, Betsy Wise Sandlin. He married Jane Cox Lewis on April 21, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Jane Lewis Sandlin; three granddaughters, Kim Clarke McCarty and husband, Keith, of Wichita, Kan., Karrie Clarke Chrisman and husband, Jason, of Vista, Calif., and Kristen Clarke Ogher and husband, Cameron, of Austin; three great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Patti Everett and husband, Richard, of Houston and Lisbeth Kidd and husband, Mark, of Portland, Ore.; and a stepgranddaughter, Jenny Everett of San Francisco. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. She was born Jan. 1, 1952, to William Clay and Joyce Gilbert Spurlock, both members of Sherman County pioneer families. She graduated from Sunray High School and attended Amarillo College as well as having farming interests in Sherman County. She married Bill Stephens on June 7, 1969, and they shared a lifetime of happiness in their 36 years of marriage. A lifelong community and church volunteer, Deborah was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and served on numerous committees including a long and faithful membership in the United Methodist Women from whom she received special recognition. She began volunteering for Meals on Wheels of Amarillo in 1973 and, in 1982, she received an award for service beyond the delivery of meals and later was honored as a volunteer of the year. Her compassionate will and precious, kind spirit blessed the lives of all who knew her and her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband Bill Stephens; a daughter, Tamara D'Anne Stephens; a son, Shelby Clay Stephens; a sister, Sheryl Spurlock Lankford and husband, Jim Pat; three nieces, Joycelen Lankford, Clayann Lankford and Chelsea Urbanczyk; her mother-in-law, Dee Stephens; her sister-in-law, Pam Urbanczyk and husband, Stephen; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. David Winburne of Huntersville ARP Presbyterian Church in Huntersville, N.C., officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Weathers was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Snyder to Alfred W. and Leona Viola Weathers. He graduated from Snyder High School in 1951. He attended the University of Texas where he met his wife, Georgia Lee Johnson. They married in Little River in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. Mr. Weathers worked for Amarillo Hardware Co., and retired after 30 years as Vice President of Wholesale Appliance Division in 1987. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Weathers; a son, Richard W. Weathers and wife, Faith, of Amarillo; two brothers, Elwyn Weathers and Whitey Friesen and wife, Kay, all of San Antonio; a sister-in-law, Nancy Winburne and husband, Leroy, of Cornelius, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Reavis Johnson and wife, Glenda, of Cameron; six grandchildren, Allison Weathers, Ricky Weathers and fiancee, Sarah Ammons, Aaron Weathers and wife, Shawna, Brian Weathers, Lisa Huval and husband, Mark, and Shane Ortiz and wife, Brandy; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sam "Geechie" Wright Sam "Geechie" Wright, 74, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with David Caperoon officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Wright was born Dec. 27, 1930, to Dave and Janie Wright in Utahville, S.C. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1959. He was employed at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport for more than 30 years and was a member of Quail Creek Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Neola Wright; six daughters, LaCheryl Bradford of Fort Worth, Phyllis Wright, Sharon Wright, Shilandra Wright and Bonnie Wright, all of Amarillo, and Savoy Wright of Dallas; two sons, Sam Wright III of Amarillo and Stanley Wright and wife, Margaret, of Dallas; a brother; Edgar Wright; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Area Freida Morgan Howard HEREFORD - Freida Morgan Howard, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005. A Celebration of Life will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Nocona with the Rev. Larry Kruger and the Rev. Shelly McNew officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery in Spanish Fort by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Howard was born June 14, 1920, in Montague County, the daughter of Lawerence and Etta Morgan. She married Noble Charlie Howard on June 8, 1940, in Waurika, Okla. They farmed in the Spanish Fort Community until 1946 when they moved to Sunnyside. In 1965, they moved to Dimmitt and in 1976 returned to Nocona, where Mrs. Howard worked for the Nocona Boot Factory until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nocona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble, in 1985; a son, Kenneth Don Howard, in 1997; and a brother, Woody Morgan. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Hollingsworth and husband, Carl, of Hereford; a sister, Elva Jo McNabb of Nocona; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Nocona First United Methodist Church. Bowers FARWELL - Charles R. Bowers, 69, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, in Lubbock. A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. MST today in the home of Tom and Lori Hartley at CR C2 in Texico, N.M. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mr. Bowers married Belva Christian in 1963 in Englewood, Calif. He was a veteran of the Army, a Baptist and retired from Clovis Public Schools as a custodian. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Gerri Bowers of Farwell and Tiffany Bowers of Chowchilla, Calif.; his mother, Irene Bowers of Visalia, Calif.; a brother, Steve Martin of Oklahoma; and eight sisters, Ella Burdick of Fresno, Calif., Linda Martin of Visalia, Billie Ruthe Huff, Larue Parker, Lawana Lewis, Anawak Barnes, Darlene Martin and Lynette Martin, all of Oklahoma. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eriberto Vallejo HEREFORD - Eriberto Vallejo, 78, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005. Mr. Vallejo was born March 16, 1927, in Mercedes to Antonio Vallejo and Guadalupe Uribe Vallejo. He married Victoria Diaz on June 8, 1943, in La Villa. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Filiberto Vallejo, Francisco Vallejo, Guadalupe Vallejo, all of Hereford, Daniel Vallejo of La Villa and Abraham Vallejo of Amarillo; three daughters, Jana Tijerina, Ofelia Garcia and Maria Elena Vallejo, all of Hereford; two brothers, Guadalupe Vallejo and Miguel Vallejo, both of La Villa; two sisters, Antonia Contreras and Petra Vargas, both of La Villa; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and five great- great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- New Mexico Turner L. Paine CLOVIS, N.M. - Turner L. Paine, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005. Graveside services were Tuesday in Oklahoma Lane Cemetery, Oklahoma Lane, Texas. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Paine was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Nocona, Texas, to Freddie Lee and Cora Hancock Paine. He married Bonnie Jean Kepley on Dec. 22, 1939, in Bovina, Texas.
