Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Medley officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Coffeeville Cemetery in Coffeeville, Miss., by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Dorothy May Wells was born and raised in Water Valley, Miss., and was a resident of Spearman for more than 50 years. Before settling in Spearman, Dorothy lived with her husband and daughter in Archer City, Franklin, La., Orange and Robert Lee. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening and music and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Spearman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Calista Wells; and four sisters, Ruth Wells Benoist, Louise Wells Norris, Bonnie Wells Harvey and Jane Wells King. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Robert Archer of Spearman; a grandson, Matt Archer of Houston; a granddaughter, Andrea Claire and husband, Tony, of Dallas; and great-grandchildren, Trent Claire and Amy Claire. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billie Mae Dixon PAMPA - Billie Mae Dixon, 67, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005. Mrs. Dixon was very active in marketing school and athletic calendars for the Pampa Independent School District. She was a member and current president of the Pampa Chapter of Altrusa International. Survivors include her husband, David Dixon; two sons, Pastor Robert Long of Amarillo and Tom Long of Pampa; a daughter, Penni Pfitzner of Pampa; a sister, Sibyl Allenson of Splendora; a brother, Lyman Osborne of Baton Rouge, La.; and six grandchildren. Mr. Estes was born Sept. 8, 1945, in Shattuck, Okla., to Glenn Edison and Cleta Georgia Wilson Estes. He married Antonia "Toni" Chacon. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Ninth and Bliss Church of Christ in Dumas with N. Lamar Reinsch, son-in-law, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Weatherford was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Texas County, Okla., and attended school in Hooker, Okla. She married W.R. Weatherford on March 29, 1936, in Guymon, Okla. They lived and farmed near Stinnett until 1947 when they bought land in Hartley County. Mrs. Weatherford spent her lifetime in service to God, her family and her community. Her children and grandchildren are grateful for her loving support of their spiritual and educational development, and for her example of caring for others. She was an active member of Ninth and Bliss Church of Christ in Dumas, where she taught Ladies Bible class. Much of her service to the Hartley community was through her membership in the Hartley Study Club. In Dumas, she was a volunteer for many years with the Rose Ladies Hospital Auxiliary and Meals-on-Wheels. Her favorite activities were tending to her yard, water skiing, snow skiing and traveling. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 1, 1967. Survivors include a son, Dale Weatherford and wife, Mary, of Hartley; two daughters, Linda Davis of Euless and Janet Reinsch and husband, Lamar, of Falls Church, Va.; nine grandchildren, Kathy Kirk Kristi, Kelly, Kimberly, Andria, Stanton, Karl and Paul; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great- granddaughter; and two sisters, Eva French and Una Stout of Liberal, Kan. Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ernest Franklin Sipes Ernest Franklin Sipes, 89, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Richards officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by DAV Chapter No. 26. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Sipes was born Aug. 22, 1916, in Madill, Okla., to Walter and Emmer Sipes. At an early age he moved with his family to Canadian. He attended schools in Canadian. Ernest was an active member of the Harmony Sunday school class at Trinity United Methodist Church. At an early age, Ernest began working with his father in the building business. He became an excellent carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter's Union 665 all of his working life. If he could "think it," he could build it. During the Depression, he worked all over the Panhandle area. He built most of the Amphitheater in Palo Duro Canyon. He also built the B-52 docks at the Amarillo Air Force Base in the early '60s. In May 1978, he was voted the "Craftsman of the Year" by the Construction Specification Institute. This was " In Recognition of his Superior Workmanship of Interior Carpentry and Mill Work" in the St. Francis Convent Chapel in Amarillo. Ernest married Ruby Blackman on Feb. 19, 1944, at the Polk Street United Methodist Church parsonage. Soon after, Ernest was called into the service of his country. He was placed in Company K, 390 Infantry 75th Div. 4th Platoon. After 16 weeks of training, he was assigned to Belgium. Ernest was an Ammunition Bearer Gunner for 60MI. Mortars. He served in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theater Campaigns. He received the Bronze Star, Infantry Combat Badge and several other medals. After the war ended in Europe, the 7th infantry division was sent home to the United States to go to Japan. The 75th Division was given a short leave to visit their families. While Ernest was on leave, the atomic bomb was dropped on Japan and the war ended. Ernest came home to children, Sam Sipes, 5 years old, Tony Sipes, 3 years old, and Jo Ellen, 10 months old. She was the daughter he had never seen except through pictures. Ernest and Ruby retired in 1978. During their retirement they traveled with family and friends camping and fishing. Ernest became a "Rock Hound" and traveled all over the country and almost to Alaska picking up rocks. He cut and polished them and made beautiful jewelry. He will be terribly missed by all his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; two sons, Sam Sipes of El Paso and Tony Sipes of Amarillo; a daughter, Jo Ellen Marshall of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Mark Sipes of Murphysboro, Ill., Matt Marshall of Vega, Amy Huddleston of Amarillo; Allison Barcena, Chris, Brent and Elyse Sipes, all of El Paso, and Jon Sipes of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Katee and Kooper Huddleston of Amarillo; a sister, Ethyl Liles of Mesquite; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. De La Cruz was born Nov. 26, 1960, in Alice. He was an auto mechanic for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Angelita De La Cruz; and two sisters, Maria Beanes and Sylvia Salinas. Survivors include two sons, Felipe De La Cruz Jr. of Amarillo and Felix De La Cruz of Fort Morgan, Colo.; a daughter, Stephanie De La Cruz of Amarillo; six brothers, Armando De La Cruz of Alice, the Rev. Julio De La Cruz Jr. of Edenburg, Santiago De La Cruz of Amarillo, Daniel De La Cruz of Childress, Arthur De La Cruz of Stinnett and Israel De La Cruz of Perryton; four sisters, Sulema Chapa of Amarillo, Sara Vela of Waka, Olga Jacques of Perryton and Chavela Pacheco; and four grandchildren, Amaya, Diego, Noelle, and Isabella. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Edward Duffy John Edward Duffy, 53, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2005. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Washington Avenue Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Shelburne officiating. Burial will be in Boys Ranch Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. He started working in the construction industry and for the last half of his life, specifically in the painting industry. He was considered an authority to contractors and homeowners alike in all facets of painting needs. Many claim him as a "professional advisor" for his talents and knowledge of the industry. Mr. Duffy was loved by all whom he touched and is sorely missed by the same. His kindness and caring traits were synonymous with his name. Honest in all his dealings, he developed a solid reputation for his character. John was an avid golfer and barbecue chef, doing either at any given opportunity. His love for golf was only surpassed by his love for his family. He was always lighthearted and full of playfulness in his spirit. His eyes lighted up at any discussions about his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Duffy and mother, Gene Lyle. Survivors include a son, Bo Duffy, his wife, Nancy, and their two children, Emma and Charlie, of Hannibal, Mo.; two daughters, Leah Call and husband, John, and Amanda Hernandez and husband, Mike, all of Amarillo; a sister, Gale Horton and her daughter, Alicia Horton, both of Concord, N.H.; and two brothers, Chuck Duffy of Kingston, Okla., and Mark Duffy of Lubbock. Mrs. Steinkuehler was born June 16, 1919, to Edna Falls and Arthur Nelson Dulabahn at the Falls homestead north of Guymon. She married Melvin Steinkuehler on May 2, 1943. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Coward of Billings, Mont.; three sons, Dwain Steinkuehler of Bryan, Texas, Wayne Steinkuehler of Elkhart, Kan., and Dale Steinkuehler of Tulsa; a sister, Grace Hicks of Lyons, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Wilson Funeral Directors of Odessa and Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo. June was born June 22, 1921, in Tishomingo, Okla., to Alton and Mamie King. She moved to Amarillo in 1932 from Big Spring and was a graduate of Amarillo High. She married Lt. Col. Jack A. Webster in 1943 in Punta Gorda, Fla., where he was a flight instructor. Their lives together in the Air Force took them all over the United States as well as Oslo, Norway, and Tackikawoa, Japan. They retired in Amarillo in 1970. Jack preceded her in death in 1972. Following Jack's death, June worked for Sr. Bryan Collins until her retirement in 1990. June was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amarillo. She dearly loved her family and friends and generously shared herself with others. She always loved working in her garden and home. Her many family and friends sustained her during her lengthy illness and she often spoke of their love and kindness. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Dennis and husband, Steve, of Odessa; a son, David Webster and wife, Gloria, of Aurora, Colo.; two grandchildren, Bert Dennis and Christopher Webster; sisters-in-law, Eunice King, La Nell King, Nita Boyndon, and Ellen "Sis" Webster; a brother-in-law, Guy W.
