Isham David L. Isham, 83, of Amarillo died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Lynn Garrett of First Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Isham was born in Colbert, Okla., and moved to Brice in 1927 and to Clarendon in 1932 where he graduated from high school in 1942 and moved to Amarillo. He joined the Army during World War II where he served in the Medical Corps. After the war, he worked as a surgical assistant with the surgery department of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He retired after 32 years. He married Floy Thomas in 1947. He was preceded is death by his wife in 1999; his twin brother, Donald Isham; a brother, Thomas Charles Isham; two sisters, Oneta Isham and Ruth Killaugh; a half-brother, Lowell Isham; and two half-sisters, Hazel Isham and Virgie Isham. Survivors include a brother, Ray K. Isham of Orlando, Fla.; and friends, Jo Holdridge of Stigler, Okla, Lola and Tom Fletcher of Hoyt, Okla., and Jean Ware of Amarillo. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Opal Jo Clay Mitchell Opal Jo Clay Mitchell, 80, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. He married Tina Rena Pollard on Sept. 14, 1990, in Pampa. He was employed by Dimension Pipeline as an engineer foreman, and had been with the company since it began in 2004. He worked overseas on the natural gas pipeline for several companies. He was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Saul Miranda, on Oct. 13, 1989; and his father, Margarito Miranda, in 1967. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bradley D. Mrs. Ballard was born on Sept. 23, 1914, in Buford, Ariz., to John Bettis and Mary Newton Bettis. She attended grammar school in Paden, Okla., and high school in Canadian. She moved to Canadian in November 1928 from Paden. She married Wiley B. Ballard on Dec. 1, 1934. They moved to Higgins in 1944 where she operated a feed and ice store. They then moved to Midland where they operated a gas station until retiring in 1968. They then moved to Del Rio in 1995 from Elk City, Okla. She was also a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 9, 1955; and a grandson, Robert Ballard.
