Survivors include his wife, Callee; two daughters, Gwyn Bris of Guttenberg, Iowa, and Canna Nelson of DÈcor, Iowa; his mother, June Davis of Hereford; two brothers, Butch Williams of Hereford and Jerry Williams of Lake Kiowa; and a sister, Delores Vernon of Woodward, Okla. Graham, 92, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in Llano Cemetery. Inurnment was in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Graham was born in Greenville to Joseph and Dora Pollard. Mrs. Graham was a "farm girl." She graduated from Greenville High School. She was an extremely athletic young woman and was offered a basketball scholarship. She chose to marry the love of her life, Curtis Graham. They moved to Amarillo from Pampa in 1956. Mrs. Graham was a wonderful, caring wife and homemaker. She attended the Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Porter Pollard and Elmer Pollard; and a sister, Evie Beasley. Survivors include a son, Bobby Graham and wife, Linda, of Sun City, Ariz.; a brother, Joseph Pollard and wife, Helen, of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; and a grandson, Brian Graham and wife, Katy, of Arizona. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Parks Robert Parks, 71, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Parks was born Jan. 30, 1934, in Amarillo to Ray Edwin Parks and Irene Wilson Parks. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1952 and earned his mechanical engineering degree at General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Mich. He was an engineer for General Motors in Warren, Mich. Robert married Shirley Mae Lewis of Amarillo in 1952. Shirley predeceased Robert in 1991. Robert and Shirley have two children, Charles Robert Parks of Simi Valley, Calif., and Gretchen Grace Parks of Royal Oak, Mich. Robert married Brenda Brooke Bills of Amarillo in 1993. He spent most of his career of 36 years as an engineer for Chevrolet Motor Division, where he was instrumental in developing many notable Chevrolet vehicles. During the course of his career with GM, he was awarded several patents for his automotive designs. Although he was accomplished in technical pursuits, he was also deeply interested in the humanities. He had an active interest in art and music including classical, bluegrass and Celtic music. He was also passionate about antique collecting and restoration. He was an outspoken idealist, and he had many ideas for improvements in the local community. He remained true to his ideals to the end of his life when he chose to make his organs available for the needs of others. Robert was an active PBS supporter and volunteer and had served on the Wildcat Bluff Board of Directors. After his retirement from General Motors, he enjoyed traveling in the U.S., Canada and abroad. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Brooke; two children, Charles Parks and Gretchen Parks; a stepson, Kelly Biggs; three grandchildren; his mother; a sister, Janice Chescheir; and a brother, RD Parks. Rich Van B. Rich, 83, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 2, 2005. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Bell Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Logan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Mr. Rich was born and raised in Oklahoma and moved to Amarillo in 1969 from Oklahoma City. He was a veteran of the Army as well as the Office of Strategic Services. He served as quartermaster at "Milton Hall" in London. After London, he was reassigned to "Melanie Mission Team" in Holland. He received an honorable discharge in 1945. He married Leatrice "Lea" Basden in 1942 in Oklahoma City. She passed away in 1999. He owned and operated T E Agri Supply until he sold the company and retired in 1985. He was a member and deacon of Bell Avenue Baptist Church and was a longtime member of the Amarillo Executive Association. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ilda McBride, in November. Survivors include a son, Garry Rich and wife, Kim, of Amarillo; a daughter, Becky Baker of Amarillo; two brothers, Kenneth Rich of Manteca, Calif., and Glenn Rich of Tulare, Calif.; two sisters, Audrey Cross of Manteca and Ruby Harrison of Lindsey, Calif.; four grandchildren, Julie VanDyke, Shanna Collins, Tyler Rich and Kelsey Rich; and three great-grandchildren, Chelsey Stevens, Brittani Stevens and Breeanna Stevens. He served with the Army during the Korean War. He then graduated from the University of Tennessee. Haskell worked for the Interstate Commerce Commission for more than 30 years before retiring in 1987. He was a member of the NRA and attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church. After moving to Amarillo in 1959, she worked as a bookkeeper for several area companies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mason Packer, in 1996. Mrs. Veale was an avid bowler and quilter. She was a loving mother and granny and will be missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by five children; five brothers; and a sister. Mr. Chambers was born and raised in Cold Springs, Okla., and lived in Amarillo most of his adult life. He married June Davis in 1982 in Amarillo. He drove a truck for Amarillo Hardware from 1972 until he retired in 2001. He was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. Robert loved his family and loved to fish, and most of all, he loved being "Grandpa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Potts was born in Bovina and was a longtime resident of Farwell before moving to Amarillo in 1987. He managed the Farmers Co-op Elevator in Bovina and Loveless Elevator and Worley Grain Elevator, both in Farwell. He was a member and past master of Farwell Lodge No. 977 AF & AM, member and past worthy patron of the Bovina Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Khiva Shrine Temple in Amarillo. He was also a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. "Jap" Dickerson on Aug. 17, 1947, in Hereford. He preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2004. Mrs. Dickerson was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for several businesses in Hereford, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kidwell was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Stephenville to Amos Jackson James and Rose Lee James. She had lived in Shamrock since she was a child. She married Curtis Kidwell on Nov. 5, 1932, in Sayre, Okla. In 1942, she and her husband moved to Wheeler. He died in 1998. She was employed at Parkview Hospital for 10 years as a cook. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Wheeler. Survivors include a son, the Rev. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Perryton. She was active in both the Senior Citizens Center and the Museum of the Plains. She was also active in the B&PW. Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Porter Loring Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Mission Burial Park North. Mr. Escalante went to be with the Lord on Dec. 2. Antonio, "Tony," was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on June 13, 1914. He came to Amarillo in 1945 to work for the Santa Fe Railway. While there, he met his wife, Nellie Ornelas. They were married in 1945 and had 11 children and 13 grandchildren. Tony was full of life until a week before his passing. He loved baseball, basketball, walking, reading, traveling and especially spending time with his family. Tony was a true patriarch in every sense of the word. His family was his life. Tony will be greatly missed, but will continue to live through the legacy he has left behind with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joel; two brothers; and a sister.
