Mrs. Alvarez was born Sept. 18, 1951, in West Columbia. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Davis was born Aug. 28, 1951, in New Mexico, was raised there and was a graduate of Gallup High School in Gallup, N.M. She served in the Navy from 1969 until 1971. She married Charles "Charlie" Davis in 1971 in South Carolina. He passed away in 2004. She lived in Atlanta from 1971 until 2000 and served in the Georgia National Guard from 1979 until 1980. She moved to Amarillo in 2000. She attended Lifeway Fellowship Church. Robert was a very funny man, devoted father, grandfather and a loving husband. He will be greatly missed, and memories of him will be treasured. Malena Scotty T. Malena, 33, of Amarillo died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005. A private family memorial is planned for a later time. "Rocking John" McClendon, 82, of Amarillo died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005. John was born Oct. 19, 1923, in Frozie. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed at the Amarillo Air Force Base after his military service and upon the base closing, he was employed at the VA Hospital for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Mattie S. Private memorial services are planned. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home. Bill was born July 5, 1934, in Clarendon to Charlie and Flora Belle Bell. He married JoAnn McEvers in 1951. Bill lived on the Perkins & Prothro Ranch near Kerrick for 50 years, managing the ranch for 30 of those years. After retiring in 1996, they moved to their home at Lake Meredith where Bill enjoyed fishing. He served many years as director and president of the Lake Meredith Harbor Owners Association. Because of failing health, he and his wife moved to Dalhart in 2002. He married Tressie Miller on Sept. 17, 1948, in Sedan. A resident of Sedan since 1931, Lee farmed and ranched in the Sedan area and retired after 20 years driving a school bus for the Clayton schools. A veteran of World War II, Lee served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Manchineel in the Pacific Ocean. He was preceded by his parents; and a brother, Herman Taylor.
