Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Union Church in Spearman with the Rev. Timothy Minor, pastor of Union Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Spearman. Mrs. Burke passed away at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice in Amarillo on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2005, after a lengthy illness. Wanda was born March 29, 1924, in Cave City, Ark., to Witten and Melissa Stewart. She graduated from Cave City High School in 1943 and then moved to Borger to work as a telephone operator. She married Bob Burke on Sept. 25, 1948, in Borger and had 57 years of a loving and happy marriage. They made their home in Spearman from 1948 until March 2003 when, due to illness, they moved to Amarillo to live with their daughter. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family greatly and loved having her children and grandchildren coming to see her. She was a member of Union Church in Spearman and was also active in the ladies missionary group of the church. She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her husband of Amarillo; a daughter, Sandi Clements and husband Charles of Amarillo; two sons, Ronald Burke of Littlefield and Terry Glen Burke of Hobbs, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Panhandle Chapter, 6222 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, TX 79109. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moncell "Pug" Wade Myers Jr. Moncell "Pug" Wade Myers Jr., 55, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005. Celebration of "Pug's" life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Moncell Myers was born Nov. 28, 1950, in Harlingen to Moncell and Doris Myers. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1968 and attended Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University. Mr. Myers married Kim McWilliams in Canyon in 1979. He was a lifetime educator teaching primarily at Oakdale Elementary School, which he considered his extended family, and while in Montana at the Monforton School. A lover of life, Pug was an enthusiastic golfer, hitting a monumental "Hole in One" on No. 7 at La Paloma Golf Course. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and musician. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Francis Wells Myers in 2002. The family would like to extend special thanks to all their many friends. Survivors include his wife, Kim Myers; a daughter, Daya and Laura Myers-Hurt of Houston; a brother, Richard Myers and wife, Nancy, and children, Ada and Denise of Fromberg, Mont.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and DeDe McWilliams of Burlington, Okla.; and special pet friends, his dog, Buddie, and Jake, his cat. Duncan, 59, of Amarillo, formerly of Tennessee, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005, in Amarillo. No services are scheduled. Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M. Mr. Duncan was born June 30, 1946. Larry was always very helpful toward others, and always had a smile on his face. Survivors include his wife, Lana Duncan; a son, Herbert B. Duncan of Tennessee; two daughters, Melissa Jones of Tennessee and Johanna Duley of Oklahoma; his mother, Lillian Jones of Tennessee; and a grandchild. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Georgia Pauline Lyons Georgia Pauline Lyons, 54, of Amarillo died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005. She worked as a cosmetology instructor. "Pete" Wilson Obe J. "Pete" Wilson, 72, formerly of Amarillo died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford with the Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Arrangements in McAllen were by Kreidler Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Wilson was born Aug. 18, 1933, in Snyder and was raised in Hereford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Sylvia Cox on Sept. 20, 1956, in Hereford. They moved to Amarillo from Hereford and owned and operated Cox Farms Market in Amarillo for more than 20 years. He moved to McAllen in 1994 and worked for GWR Produce from 1994 until the time of his death. He loved his family and loved being surrounded by them all of the time. He was preceded in death by his parents, Obe and Thelma Wilson; a son, Michael Wilson; and two brothers, Darwin Wilson and Bonnie Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Wilson of McAllen; three daughters, Cindy White and husband Gary of Corydon, Ind., and Sherry Daniel and Ramona Wilson, both of Houston; a son, Steve Wilson and wife Kelly of San Angelo; two brothers, Bob Wilson and Marshall Wilson; a sister, Marguerite Favor; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Arnold was born May 27, 1917, in Bald Knob, Ark., to James D. and Lydia Pearl Cranford Davis. She married Alton James Arnold on Nov. 1, 1941, in Quanah. He married Annie Bell Harris on July 31, 1947, in Hardeman County; he married Claudia Redick on Feb. 14, 1997, in Quanah. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Milton Duane Thompson was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Bricelyn to Milton C. and Vala Hunt Thompson. He graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1946. He married Avonelle Kenyon on Aug. 14, 1955, in Albert Lea, Minn. They Farmed in Minnesota before moving to Dalhart in 1979. Duane farmed in the Dalhart area, and after he retired, he worked in maintenance at Coon Memorial Nursing Home for 10 years. He also worked for Medi-Equip. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dalhart. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and enjoyed sports and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Avonelle Thompson of Dalhart; two sons, Kevin and Gay Thompson of Farwell and Barry and Deanna Thompson of Rochester, Minn.; a daughter, Lori and Dave Lebahn of Rosemount, Minn.; a sister, Neva Onorato of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Robert Thompson, Jessalyn, Brent and Courtney Thompson, Chris Lebahn and his wife, Alexis, and Justin Lebahn. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Lady Mary Dickinson was born Jan. 14, 1910, in Spur, Texas. She made her home in Tucumcari, moving from Clovis in 1945 with her husband, Grover. She was a charter member of Tucumcari Elks Lodge Does Drove No. 210. She was a member of First Christian Church of Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 21, 1994. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Sanders of Tucumcari, Wynell Crook of Chandler, Ariz., and Gail Feeney of Niceville, Fla.; a son, Jim Tom Dickinson of Clovis; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oklahoma Georgia Custer LOGAN, OKLA. - Georgia Custer, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, in Booker, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Booker United Methodist Church with the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Heart Cemetery in Booker by Johnson's Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Georgia Custer was born Nov. 29, 1916, in Elmwood to Carl and Ruby Yoder Tilton. She attended the Lone Star Country School, later attending high school in Balko. On May 23, 1936, she married Charles Custer in Beaver, and they made their home on a farm in Beaver County. In 1947, they moved to the Logan area, where they started their own farming operation. Georgia loved the farm and continued to live there and remain active in the operation and activities of the farm even after the death of Charles in November 2000. Georgia was very active in her community. She served as 4-H leader and assisted with many projects. She was a member of the Logan Community Ladies Club. Mrs. Custer attended Booker United Methodist Church. In 1977, Charles and Georgia were honored as Beaver County's Farm Bureau Family of the Year. Georgia was known as an excellent cook who also enjoyed gardening, quilting and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; and a sister, Betty Niles. Survivors include three daughters, Elaine Balch and husband Frank of Hydro, Norma Laurie and husband David of Booker and Linda Ray and husband Tim of Shamrock, Texas; a brother, Howard Tilton of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Dora Jean Hill of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
