Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Panhandle. Mass will be at 4 p.m. Friday in St. Ann's Catholic Church with Bishop John Yanta celebrating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery in Panhandle by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., in Amarillo. Sister Theresia Schreiber was born Oct. 25, 1905, in Poysdorf, Austria, to Matthias and Theresia Toegl. She studied needlework and received her teaching degree from the Teachers College in Vienna. She entered the Congregation of the School Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in Vienna, Austria, on Oct. 17, 1923. She made her first vows on July 25, 1926, and final vows on July 25, 1932. In 1932, she came to the United States and studied at Mount Mary College, where she received her B.A. and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Sister taught at St. Clemens in Center Line, Mich., and at Our Lady of the Good Shepherd in Trenton, N.J. After the School Sisters were invited to come to Texas and admitted by Bishop Laurence FitzSimon, Sister was in charge of the first Gordon Memorial Home for Children from 1954-1956. From July 1949 to July 1968, Sister Feliciana was the Regional Superior of the Congregation in the United States. She was appointed the administrator of St. Ann's Home for the Aged soon after it opened in 1962. In the memory book of hearts, Sister is remembered by many in the last 20 years for the beautiful creations she made in the craft shop of the nursing home, the wonderful stories she would tell about St. Joseph, her favorite saint, and the afternoon coffee breaks that she shared daily with the young Sisters. Survivors include Sister Maria Philomena Schreiber and Sister Maria Hildegardis Schreiber, both of Vienna, Austria. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Leisa Devone Edmiston PAMPA - Leisa Devone Edmiston, 43, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in Lubbock. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Palmer, pastor of the Carpenter's Church, officiating. Ms. Edmiston was born Oct. 26, 1962, in Wichita Falls. She was a resident of Pampa most of her life and was a beautician. Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Braddock of Venice, Fla.; her father, Bill Edmiston of Pampa; a grandmother, Patricia Edmiston of Corvallis, Ore.; and a granddaughter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lola Knierim Pohl MATADOR - Lola Knierim Pohl, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in Lubbock. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Matador with the Rev. Winfield Davenport and the Rev. Montie Wike officiating. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. and Mrs. Pohl purchased Household Supply Company in Matador in March 1946 and operated it until selling the business in 1981. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Matador where she was active in the church choir and played the organ and piano. Lola was also active in Eastern Star and the Eternas Study Club for more than 50 years. In 2000 she moved to the Lakeside Rehab and Care Center in Lubbock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Pohl on Aug. 10, 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Limmer of Snyder; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Canyon Rick Faver CANYON - Rick Faver, 52, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, in Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Terry Meyer officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Rick Faver was born Sept. 15, 1953, to Creston Faver and Joyce Faver in Fort Hood. He graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1972 and attended college at West Texas State University. Rick married Terri Pollreisz on Valentine's Day, 2005. Rick was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed trips to the mountains of Colorado with his son, Trey, and wife Terri. Rick devoted his life to being a wonderful father to Trey. They loved to hunt, fish, and compete in Cowboy Action Shooting competitions. Rick never missed an opportunity to support Trey in all academic and athletic activities. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Faver; and a son, Ricky Lee Faver II. She worked for Western National Bank for 15 years before going to McCoy Myers in 1995. She was employed there until the time of her death. She married Michael Brack in 1997 in Amarillo. She was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church. She was the "best Mom in the world," and a most cherished and caring daughter. Most people count themselves fortunate to have one true friend in life; Caron had many. She was greeted in Heaven by a niece, Tara Griffith, and a nephew, Mitchell Griffith. Mr. Ray was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Granby, Mo., and raised in Logan, Okla., by his mother and stepfather, Rita and Harlen Black. He graduated from Beaver High School in 1963. He married Patricia Ann Brown of Granby on Sept. 4, 1964. He was a loving husband and their marriage gave them five children whom he truly loved and enjoyed. Joe was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers from 1974 to 1985 when he became a driver for Oil Transport. Later he became a driver for Flying Star at the startup of the company. He was a member and a deacon of Pleasant Valley Christian Church where he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Black; his father, James E. Raye; a sister, Karen Ray; and his stepfather, Harlen Black. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Virginia, youngest of 11 children, was born Aug. 19, 1934, to Harlan and Lydia McCorcle in Colorado City. She attended Colorado City High School, where she played in the band. She attended Howard Payne University and North Texas State University. She moved to Amarillo where she met Curtis Pollard. They were married April 11, 1959, after Mr. Pollard returned from the Navy. She became a LVN in 1957, and in 1976 she received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Amarillo College. For 26 years, she worked as a registered nurse and diabetic educator at High Plains Baptist Hospital. After retirement in 1995, she was active with Jan Werner Adult Day Care. Mrs. Pollard was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church. Along with family and friends, she loved ministry, music and writing poetry. Her joy in life was being with the people she loved. Many knew her as "Sis," "Ginger" or "Nana." She was preceded in death by Curtis, her husband of 40 years; her mother and father; six sisters, Margaret, Bessy, Lil, Fran, Alice and Dot; and three brothers, John, Jack and Buddy. She loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed dancing and traveling. She married David Strader on Christmas Day 1941 in Clovis, N.M. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Mr. Speed grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. His service as a Marine was a source of pride throughout his lifetime. After being honorably discharged from the military, Mr. Speed attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. During his 35-year career as a funeral director, Mr. Speed assisted countless families in the care of their loved ones. Mr. Speed served his community as a former member and president of the Tascosa Lions Club and as a member and president of the Panhandle Area Funeral Directors Association. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was one of Mr. Speed's favorite pastimes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Speed; and two sisters, Billye Katharyn Runquist and Mary Lou Bruce.
